Title: Trial of Lady Amandine

Author: Faeryl Tyr'athem

---The prosecuting argument of Faeryl Tyr'athem, former Knight of the Crux Ansata, against her then Commandant, Lady Danica Amandine, at her murder trial in July of 2012 on the Atlantic shard---

By declaring Martial Law, Lady Amandine had taken control over the judicial system, which gave her the power and authority to administer punishment for various crimes. However, with Justice being the principle that punishment should be proportionate to the offence, I offer that the murder of Reddish was unlawful and unjust.

Reddish was a petty criminal, his crime at the time of his death being solely that he would not divulge the information asked of him, not murder. Reddish was man in the wrong place at the wrong time, a victim of misplaced anger towards one Jimmy Nardello, the man who killed our Commandant, Lord Simeon Bennu.

Lady Amandine’s actions that night were both immoral and showed an extreme lack of appropriate conduct. Morality is knowing the distinction between right and wrong, something she has proven time and again to be quite capable of.

And when she came across Reddish at the docks that night, she made the choice to confront him. She made the choice to torture him. She made the choice to kill him. When she was finished she dragged his mutilated, lifeless body through the streets of Britain and dropped it in front of her Knights, and without a hint of remorse, told them his name wasn’t important.

As Knights of the Crux Ansata, it is our duty to maintain Order and protect the people of Britannia with the Virtues of Honesty, Compassion, Valour, Justice, Sacrifice, Honour, Spirituality, and Humility as our personal guide. By acting without Compassion, the Justice Lady Amandine sought for the death of Lord Simeon turned to tyranny.

A prior order given to either kill or arrest one Tresha Trifeux, as well as ordering her Knights to kill Nardello without a proper trial only supports the citizen’s view of tyranny. Their trust in the abilities of the Crux Ansata was diminished by these acts, as well as our trust in Lady Amandine’s judgment and leadership.

The question remains as to whether or not Lady Amandine is still fit to lead the Knights of the Crux Ansata. This is a question I leave for the Jury to decide. Do you truly believe after all that has transpired; the merger with her sister’s soul, the strain of Martial Law, and the most recent death of Lord Simeon; that Lady Amandine is still capable of leading the Knights to the best of her ability?

Do you believe she is capable of learning from her mistakes and can set aside personal feelings to do what is best for the people?
