6/12/1999

The first meeting under the guidance of the renewed mayor's office took place today. For a first meeting a rather large crowd of people attended: Pyros, Valrev, Shirl, Zarloke, Sheena and Sunwolf of the Yew Militia; Ibn Shaun; Greypawn; Damieon; Scalpel; Blair; Joker's Wild; Lady Seer Magdalena; Callisto Gabriel, Malicite and Dark Temptress of the BWC and finally Duke Surak'Nar.

The meeting largely consisted of a few statements by myself to introduce some of the changes the Town Council will go through:

- Town Council meetings will be scheduled and fixed so everyone knows exactly when they can expect a Town Council Gathering. Gatherings will be held on Sundays at 4 PM EST in the Town Hall. The next meeting will be held at 19/12 and you're welcome to send any topics you wish to be handled to the mayor.

- There have been a number of appointments to assist the mayor in his daily duties:

Laien Simorian will continue to act as Minister of Commerce and has been appointed as Vice Mayor aswell. Whenever the mayor is prevented from taking up his duties she will take his place.

Windlord has been appointed as the new Town Magistrate. It will be his duty to ensure a working justice system is set in motion. He will be responsible to conduct trials, write out arrest warrants or propose laws to the Town Council.

Gargish Dragon has been granted the title of Noble Citizen. It is a reward for his years of dedication and work for Yew as mayor. Gargish Dragon was a pioneer and someone we all owe a debt of gratitude to.

I'm currently still considering someone for the position of Ambassador. He or she will be responsible to tighten the ties with other communities and represent Yew.

- Some of the Citizens present raised the topic of hoodlums deceiving youngsters out of their hard earned money. After a small discussion it was decided there weren't enough clear ideas and opinions on the topic. The proposal was that everyone placed their ideas on the Yew Forum so that we could discuss the matter at the next meeting with more substantial ideas.
