The Search for a Cure

To all healers and philosophers searching for a cure. Here are some of my findings.

I have collected sputum samples from humans, one runtee orc and elves that have either been in contact or have dwelled in Magencia in the near past. I have also collected scat samples from the various animals around the island, including birds, snakes and alligators.

The collection process was tedious, dangerous at times, and I had to use my paralyze spell at least once. But the information was vital to my research.

Findings. The contamination appears to be a Living substance. It also has a magical element. I am not sure if this is raw magic contained, or a malfaeic spirit of some sort. Although the effect Pallidans have on the sickness suggests a presence of some chaotic nature involved. I am also not sure if there may be a low form of intellegance being expressed in the spread of this sickness. I shudder to think that the disease has desires to spread itself. This would have horrible consequences.

I have found by accident that in a completely darkened room, if the substance interacts with a magic reflection spell, there appear small mephitic spots in the substance which give off a very faint spotty glow of a light yellowish cast. This is how I discovered the supranatural nature of this contamination.

I have tested the contamination with various draughts of Ale, Greater Refresh potions, lesser poison and cures. A mixture of a strong ale, greater refresh, and lesser poison, seems to weaken the animal or vegitative nature of the substance. This does not necessarily kill the organone but does allow the body to heal itself somewhat. I have not found any magics that can affect this organone yet.

Humans, elves, and orcs. I believe the reason that the fey races seem to be unaffected by this agent is due the elder magic forces that are part of the substance of their being. It may interfere with the organone and allow the fey body, being of a strong constitution to expel the material. This is a theory. I have no proof and is sheer speculation on my part. Lastly, I believe that a combination of the force of pallidans virtues expressed in cures, elvish magic and substances that are as yet unknown combined will finally effect a cure and stop this malady. Due to the nature of this organone both of natural nature and supranatural it will take the combinations of all these forces to accomplish this task. My our missing Lord British lend us his strenght in these troubled times.
