The Coronation

The invited guests from across the realm met that day, June 30th, 2001, at the Trammel Yew Abbey at 7pm EST. They lined up and waited for the Governor-Regent to arrive so that the caravan could begin. After his arrival, Lord-Chancellor Grimrick spoke.

Grimrick: All Attention to the Lord Chamberlain!

Aleph Aeirs: *signals for the attention of the crowd*

Ladies and Gentleman, if I may have a moment of your time. We are assembled here this day to begin a journey, and it is with these first steps that we rejoice in the promises of this new era. It is through this journey that we move closer to our dream. A time of peace, a time of unity. A time of leadership, a time of support.

We begin this journey as a simple collection of individuals. The roads we will take represent a symbolic demonstration of our unity. This journey, that begins here from Empath Abbey and shall be completed upon arrival at the City of Compassion, signals not the end of our journey, but rather, the beginning of a time rich with opportunities for every citizen. And at journey's end? We shall stand united in support of our Liege, Lord British and his Governor-Regent Dayel Stormcrow. We await the command of the Governor-Regent to depart.

  • bows in reverence to Dayel Stormcrow*

Dayel Stormcrow: *arm motions forward*

The caravan began. Along the way the Governor-Regent's Herald, Maryia Shadebane, called out his arrival to passerbys.

Maryia Shadebane: Forth comes His Excellency, Governor Regent of Britannia, Dayel Stormcrow! All bow and give homage! *grins* All bow and give homage! Forth comes His Excellency, Governor Regent of Britannia, Dayel Stormcrow! Forth comes His Excellency, Governor Regent of Britannia, Dayel Stormcrow! All bow and give homage! Clear the road for the Governor Regent and his procession! All bow before the Regent and his party!

Upon arrival at Castle British in Britain, the many guests stood awaiting for the Coronation Ceremony. All head's turned as the Governor-Regent and party arrived.

Gar Strongblade: *leans forward and looks down the isle*

Dayel walked up to the dais and faced the monks that awaited him. The ceremony then began.

Elder Monk Ryan: *speaks in a loud voice*

Sirs, I here present unto you Governor - Regent Dayel Stormcrow, your undoubted Regent: Wherefore all you who are come this day to do your homage and service, are you willing to do the same?

Grimrick: I am

Aleph Aeirs: Indeed I am.

Elder Monk Ryan: My Lord, is your Grace willing to take the Oath?

Dayel Stormcrow: I am willing.

Elder Monk Ryan: Will you solemnly promise and swear to govern the Peoples of Britannia and of your Possessions and other Territories to any of them belonging or pertaining, according to their respective laws and customs?

Dayel Stormcrow: I solemnly promise so to do.

Elder Monk Ryan: Will you to your power cause Law and Justice, in Mercy, to be executed in all your judgments?

Dayel Stormcrow: I will.

Elder Monk Ryan: Will you to the utmost of your power maintain the Laws of The Time Lords and the true professing of the Virtues? Will you, to the utmost of your power, maintain within the Kingdom, the force of Britannian Justice as established by law? Will you maintain and preserve inviolate the settlement of the local vassals, with their doctrines, worship, discipline, and government thereof, as by law established in Britannia?

Dayel Stormcrow: All this I promise to do.

Elder Monk Ryan: *gives the Tome of Virtues to Dayel*

Dayel Stormcrow: *Accepts the book*

Dayel Stormcrow: The things, which I have here promised, I will perform and keep.

Elder Monk Ryan: *speaks to Dayel*

Elder Monk Ryan: Our gracious Regent, to keep your Grace ever mindful of the law and the Virtues as the Rule for the whole life and government of the lands, we present you with this Book, the most valuable thing that this world affords. Here is Wisdom; This is the royal Law.

Lady Lipstick, Queen of Stormhaven

Dayel Stormcrow: Come forward m'lady. *smiles*

Aleph Aeirs: *smiles warmly*

Dayel Stormcrow: *bows head and smiles*

Lipstick: Your excellency Governor Stormcrow on behalf of Stormhaven, we wish thee a future of prosperity and peace. We know thy people shall come to know your strength and mercy. The Kingdom of Stormhaven hopes to build a strong bridge of alliance and in honor of this day and the future we offer thee a gift. May thy throne know peace always.

Dayel Stormcrow: *accepts the chest* Thank ye m'lady for these riches.

Dayel Stormcrow: We are honored by your friendship and we look forward to the bond of alliance. *smiles*

Ce'Nedra Willow: Lord Smogg Azalin, Cult Leader of the Cult of Infernal Necromancy

Dayel Stormcrow: *nods in respect*

Smogg Azalin: Greetings his excellency, Governor-Regent of Britannia Dayel Stormcrow. I thank for the invitation, I am truly honored. I take it as the first step towards peace and friendship. It is not only a sign of great wisdom that you seek friendly relations with the my cult, but also a choice that will surely mark the lands.

Aleph Aeirs: *leans forward and listens intently*

Smogg Azalin: Despite your vast power, it is still obvious that many areas are complely out of your control. To ensure stability and peace, my cult acts as protecters of large areas north of Trinsic. We defend locals where your brave knights would not dare venture, and see to sick people your healers would never touch. Many vile creature fall to our blades. Creatures that would otherwise be free to prey on the innocents and threaten your very kingdom. It is my hope we can build trust and cooperation so that threats to the lands can be dealt with more efficently. However our expenses are high, esteemed Governor-Regent, and your excellency benefits greatly from our efforts. I find it resonable to request a supply in the form of weapons and spell components to compensate our expenses.

Donovan WarCroft: *raises eyebrows*

Smogg Azalin: 500 exceptional katanas and 20.000 nightshade. I see that you may be reluctant to help even with such a minor request. But it is my hope we can come to an agreement where we can ensure prosperity, peace and stability in the realm. Thank you for your time his excellency Governor-Regent. *nods with respect for Dayel*

Dayel Stormcrow: Thank you good doctor.

Smogg Azalin: *political smile*

Dayel Stormcrow: Your generosity is legendary throughout the realm. And you easily show that the truth is spoken when they say Smogg is generous. I shall remember your kindness. I must hesitate on your order however. My quartermasters will need time to fill such an order. There are many forms to fill out... I will ask that our Parliament takes your concerns into consideration when they meet. Thank you. *nods*

Ce'Nedra Willow: Fred, Mayor of Skara Brae Township

Fred: Dayel, I'd just like to say congratulations on becoming the Governor-Regent. I'm sure you will do a great job. I'd also like to say that I'm still waiting on that friendly duel you promised me *chuckles*

Dayel Stormcrow: Thank you Fred.

Fred: From me, and from the people of Skara Brae, I'd like to say good luck, you've got a long road ahead of you. *smiles*

Dayel Stormcrow: I thank you.

Aleph Aeirs: *smiles towards Analeiza*

Analeiza: Greetings Govenor-Regent Stormcrow

Dayel Stormcrow: *smiles*

Analeiza: I come before you today first to congratulate you on a glorious ceremony and secondly as the representative of Minoc. As you may or may not know, our city council is newly formed and diligently working to build a militia to defend our beautiful town against the orcs and savages that roam our streets. I humbly request any assistance your excellency may offer as we build our defenses and I thank you for your time.

Dayel Stormcrow: Thank you madame mayor. The city of Minoc shall always be embraced by this government. We shall endeavor to protect your citizens. And we offer any further assistance you may need to support the town of Sacrifice.

Ryentha Watcher: Sir...

Dayel Stormcrow: *nods*

Ryentha Watcher: ...I would like to begin by saying the land is in need of a leader. But I do not think you are the man for it. No...I know you are not the man to represent a King not the True King anyway.

Aleph Aeirs: *looks concerned*

Ryentha Watcher: The Holy Church IMPLORES you to seek a better candidate. One who would better represent the PEOPLE. Someone who serves the Real King, not a puppet. I have no offense to you, sir.

Dayel Stormcrow: *smiles*

Ryentha Watcher: But I feel you are in grave sin by folowwing British. Hear this, the day of Repentance is near. I hope you heed its call. Until you do, I cannot support you. The Aird Righ MUST be acknowledged. And until you or your replacement declare fealty...

Aleph Aeirs: *wipes his face and frowns*

Ryentha Watcher: ...to the Pendragon...we will oppose you. It is not your title to take. I am finished.

Dayel Stormcrow: Your candor is appreciated priestess. I assure you, we will strive to learn more of your ways...

Ryentha Watcher: Bit different from a sermon. Thank you...better to represent the people.

Dayel Stormcrow: know this, I do not intend to be your king of kings

Ryentha Watcher: You are not him.

Dayel Stormcrow: *smiles*

Ryentha Watcher: He needs representation. Until he...returns.

Dayel Stormcrow: Nay ma'am, I am not. He has you madame. Something tells me he is well represented...

Dayel Stormcrow: *grins*

Ryentha Watcher: *smiles spreading her breath and the smell of rotten meat*

Dayel Stormcrow: I, however, represent Britannia.

  • tries not to grimace*

Thank you priestess

Ryentha Watcher: May I backdown, sir?

Dayel Stormcrow: Aye, thy sermon was...refreshing.

Ce'Nedra Willow: Syrina of the Lia Fail Empire

Dayel Stormcrow: *smiles*

Syrina: Hail your Excellency.

Dayel Stormcrow: Greetings hostess.

Aleph Aeirs: *smiles warmly*

Syrina: On behalf of the Lia Fail Empire, I welcome thee and all that thou dost represent. We are confident in your abilities to lead us into an era of prosperity and along virtue's path. We are honored to have thee in our home and we hope that you will see fit to honor us with your presence again soon.

Dayel Stormcrow: *smiles* I thank thee for thy warm embrace of hospitality. And thy kind words which gladden my heart. I shall visit again, I assure you. The lady Willow is fond of plays I am told. *grins*

Syrina: we look forword to that time your Excellency. Indeed.

Dayel Stormcrow: Thank you.

Raven Blackwing: Greetings my lord.

Dayel Stormcrow: *smiles*

Raven Blackwing: I come to offer my aid in the line of training for all that may need it as well as to offer thee the aid of the militia when it is needed. The academy is growing and so is the militia. If there be a time we are called on to aid in any way let it be a war or the healing of the sick we are at thine side to serve my lord.

Dayel Stormcrow: Thank you for your kindness m'lady. It is fortunate that you have come this day. I have already heard of a need for training and healing and troops. Perhaps you can be of help in the swamps of Trinsic. Poor Smogg's men are outnumbered and lack supplies. I thank you for your courage. And that of your men.

Raven Blackwing: The master will always have thine aid of the academy *nods*

Dayel Stormcrow: *smiles*

Raven Blackwing: And I thank thee my lord for your time.

Dayel Stormcrow: *nods head slightly* Thank you.

Raven Blackwing: *nods*

Ce'Nedra Willow: Lord Wolf of the Knights of Sosaria

Wolf: Greetings Lord Regent. My congratulations on your appointment.

Dayel Stormcrow: *grins* Aye friend?

Warlord: My friend, Julius Ceasar, has been turned into an evil vampire by Crystal Ice, Anna's sister. I ask that you help me rid him of the deamon within him.

Dayel Stormcrow: I thank you Warlord.

Warlord: Before he was a vampire, he was going to form an empire within the realm to assist the forces of light.

Dayel Stormcrow: Rest assured, Lord Chancellor Grimrick has the resources of this government at his disposal.

Warlord: I see...

Dayel Stormcrow: He, and the learned members of the BTF will find a way to help thee. I am sure.

Roland Deschain: Ah, but I am taking my leave.

Dayel Stormcrow: The ambassador has said his piece.

Roland Deschain: That is what I thought.

Dayel Stormcrow: And even complimented me on my armor.

Donovan WarCroft: Lord Roland shall see his day soon enough.

Dayel Stormcrow: Many of the great "lords" that came before him in the Order were lucky enough to see my armor right before they perished.

Dayel Stormcrow: *raises eyebrow*

Cogniac: *laughs* Aye, he's got me there.

Grimrick: *chuckles*

Itenhe the Cat: Mocking the death of my Familiar for one, then putting me under the implication that I am a fool.

Dayel Stormcrow: Cogniac does not represent me sir. But I think we have heard enough.

Itenhe the Cat: Well thats good then...Now...I was saying..that.. well we darker forces are by far outnumbered but maybe one day if both sides can stand to pull their heads from their...

Cogniac: Hail, Dayel! I'd just like to congratulate you, Dayel, on your appointment.

Dayel Stormcrow: *nods* Thank you sir knight.

Cogniac: I remember having had lots of fun with you over the years, sir. Like when we did the Virtue quest together to save Aleph. Hello, there, Aleph. by the way.

Aleph Aeirs: *smiles*

Dayel Stormcrow: *pats Aleph on the shoulder*

Cogniac: And also...hehe...that time...hehe...that time when you drank that entire bottle of ale....hehehe...and you passed out...hehe...and we tied you to that cow.. Well, perhaps I shouldn't divulge that information to the masses.

Windlord: *raises eyebrow*

Cogniac: Considering you have a "reputation" to worry aobut now and all.

Donovan WarCroft: *smirks*

Dayel Stormcrow: I think you may have me confused with someone else sir knight.

Cogniac: But on a more serious note... Yes, that's right, I have you "confused with someone else" Dayel. *wink wink*

Cogniac: Anyway...On a more serious note, I'd just like to say that on behalf of the Order of the Silver Serpent and the isle of Serpent's Hold, that all of us down in the islands of the south are fully behind you in your newly appointed regency. So Congrats, and may your days in office, or reign, or whatever be many.

Dayel Stormcrow: I thank you sir knight. OSS has long been the protectors of the South. We are honored by their dilligence and courage.

(At this time, a lone man stood up in the crowd and began to make demands of the Regent before his visibly embarrassed guildmates removed him from the premises.)

Dayel Stormcrow: I thank you all for joining us this eve. It is no surprise that things can be this interesting when so many people who don't usually gather together, get to mingle. We are honored by your...

Ce'Nedra Willow: *whispers*

Dayel Stormcrow: Ahh...master Granth?

Garrett Granth: Who?

Dayel Stormcrow: You wish to speak?

Garrett Granth: *hic* urrr, certainly.. ah.. yes.. I suppose so.

Dayel Stormcrow: You may have the last words then.

Ce'Nedra Willow: Garret Granth, Author at Large of the Guardians of Lore

Dayel Stormcrow: I'll have the Lady Ambassador write out my name later for your notes.

Ce'Nedra Willow: *grins*

Garrett Granth: Well, M'lord Daryl. Errr, Dayel

Dayel Stormcrow: *chuckles*

Garrett Granth: The Guardians of Lore, with our holdings in the north *hic* you know, those lands there...*hic* *hic* *hic*

Dayel Stormcrow: Is there more good bard? This is the shortest speech on record for you no?

Annunzio: *chuckles*

Cogniac: *laughs*

Annunzio: Perhaps he has passed out?

Dayel Stormcrow: It seems he has.

Elrios: Aye looks it.

Cogniac: I do believe he has reached a new level of drunkenness.

Annunzio: Aah, so it is.....

(Garret toppled over the side of the tower roof.)

Grimrick: He fell from the roof.

Garrett Granth: *hic*

Grimrick: Hope he's alright.

Annunzio: Not the first time....

Dayel Stormcrow: That was quite a feat.

Garrett Granth: *hic* *hic*

(Moments later, he climbed the stairs to the top of the tower and approached the dais once more.)

Dayel Stormcrow: An acrobat as well as an author!

Annunzio: *snickers*

Garrett Granth: Furthermore!

Dayel Stormcrow: The floor is still yours Garrett... as is the lawn out front. *smirks*

Garrett Granth: *hic* I should like to add... ow

Aleph Aeirs: Ow indeed.

Grimrick: *grins*

Garrett Granth: *hic* I think I'll just be going to my seat before anything else happens, Lord Daryl err, Daeyl.. Darnely. Whatever.

Annunzio: *tries to keep a straight face*

Dayel Stormcrow: Fair enough good scribe.

Donovan WarCroft: *laughs*

Anna: *chuckles*

Windlord: *grins*

Garrett Granth: *hic*

Dayel Stormcrow: Thank you for the send off we are sure to remember. Good eve to you all.

Garrett Granth: *hic* I'm not drunk!

Dayel Stormcrow: I thank you once more for your patience and attention. I bid you farewell friends.
