YEW FARM REPORTS

by Agriculture Expert Bob With winter soon upon us I visited some of the local famers in Yew to see how they handled protecting the young cows and sheep during the winter months. This interesting story was told to me by Yew famer Joe.

Last winter Farmer Joe revived a calf that was almost gone!

The calf--we call Junior--nestles in the glow of a warming box built especially for baby citters. The famers kids brush Juniors soft hide. Perfect calving picture right?

Now go back 24 hours Joe and his family had just returned from the Yew town meeting. Joe checks his herd a lot. It was November 8th. "When I found this calf, he was cold--so cold his jaws where clinched and I couldn't get it open." Joe said. "The tempeature was 20[degrees] and the wind was blowing 30 to 40 miles per hour." In just the 3 1/2 hours since the calf was born outside, he was struggling. "It was getting stiff, where the legs stick out and the neck arches back." says Joe. "You know when your close to loosing a calf to hypothermia."

"I raced into the lot, picked up the calf, ran inside and got it in frount of Big Bertha to get some chill off. Then I put the calf in the warming box. [Big Bertha is what i call my fire place that serves as a barn wamer, cattle drier and calf warmer]

Steps to survival

The heater and warming box are step one. Step Two is to warm Junior up from the inside. To do thisJoe uses a Re-sorb, warm milk and honey. The dose is given orally.

Milk out the cow. With Junior warming on the outside and the inside, Joe starts step three. "I get the cow in and milk her out. I dump it into the calf to make sure it has colostrum."

Junior stays in the warming box for two more hours. By then he is ready to go into the pen with mamma.

Last Tuesday of this week it was reported that the Blackwind Nights invaded Yew. The Knights had hired a band of Mercs. to help them to try to invaded lands in Yew. Yew Militia and The Frim met the evil Knights and swords were drawn as the battle began. Lord Dunedain and Lord Grimrick joined forces with the help of The Empire. After many hours of fighting the Blackwind knights stood as the winners of the battle. Yet it was not finished there. Adin was slain by Adam, a knight under The Firm flag. A special sword was used that had some unusual powers in that when Duke Adin was reborn he was denoucing all that was evil. A civil war then broke out amungts the Blackwinds. Duke Adin drew swords against his own mother in an attempt to gain control back over The Blackwind House. Last this reporter knew the now good Duke Adin was to visit the town meeting this comming Sunday to make an announcement. This reporter will diffently be there.

Baron Malicite sent a scroll to the Township requesting an audience with the leaders of Yew. The Baron recently took positon of Nujel'm. The scroll did not give any details as to what he would like to meet about.

Caina Embargo

Also in the local news Anna of The Frim and Co-Sage of Sacrifice placed a embargo against Caina for the slave trading that goes on there. The embargo is on wares the city sells. Anna informed all of The Firm that no one was to buy or trade any wares with any citizens of Caina. Mayor Thorin also joined the embargo and made the same laws apply to all Yew Citizens.

WORLD NEWS

KIDNAPPING!!!!!!!

This reporter visited the Kindom of Stormhaven just in time to hear Prince Talon's announce 'The Prince is Home!" The Prince went on to say that Smogg has a good thrashing comming his way for all the harm Smogg has caused his guild while he was gone.

Way to go Prince Talon! During the Prince's homecomming party, Dryzzid of OES from Caina kidnapped the Queen. Everyone in Stromhaven is....ticked!

HONESTY BLOCKED OFF???

In what seemed to be a bold statment by Wintermoor, a blockade was built in the passageway between Wintermoor and the MTC Palace on Ice Island.

[you see a picture of the shrine of honest and the blockade] Wintermoore is claiming rights to the shrine yet seems MTC may have the last laugh. In a act of compassion for the shrine of Honesty, Mayor of Moonglow, GreyPawn gave the deed to the shrine to the Regent. So if all is correct it would seem that Wintermoor was actually blocking off a shrine the Regent owned. I am sure there will be more to come on this matter.

YT: What's your favorite thing about Yew?

Mayor: There are so many things actually. I guess if I had to choose one it would be the People. It's the people that make Yew interesting.

YT: What would you like to see changed about Yew?

Mayor: I would like to see Yew get our lands back from the Orcs.

YT: Do you like being Mayor? Why?

Mayor: It's been an interesting change from the Militia to Politics.

YT: Did you grow up in Yew?

Mayor: Nay, I was born in Britain. My family moved to Trinsic, then Moonglow and at the age of 25 I moved to Yew.

YT: Now this is for all the single lands in the landMayor are you single or is there a Lady in your life?

Mayor: Well, I am single yet currently there is a Lady in my life. I hope to ask for her hand soon.

YT: Oh! Well who may this lucky Lady be?

Mayor: Analieza

YT: Should we expect wedding bell's to be ringing soon in Yew?

Mayor: I sure hope so.

YT: Where would you like to see Yew at say a year from now?

Mayor: Better ties with other guilds in Yew. A stronger Yew presence in Yew Felucca.

YT: Perhaps peace with the Orcs?

Mayor: I doubt it. I do not see the Orc's giving back our land's peacefully.
