The strange giant fish known as the Ikuchi is a rare sight for any sailor. It is even rarer that a sailor sees the giant eel and survives. As the creature lives its life in the darkest and coldest deeps of the ocean and only comes to the surface under mysterious circumstances, it will often lash out at any ships or boats it comes across.

The eel is unusually long, and some believe it would take days for a ship to pass it. Its skin weeps a sticky oil, and the remains and possessions of its victims often decorate the long body of the Ikuchi. While these treasures may lure the foolish, wise sailors will stay clear of Isamu’s Bane.
