The Death of Devin Glowember

Dear citizens of Britannia, I write to inform you of a great loss,: the passing of my dearest cousin, Devin Glowember. He was not a man of society, spending much of his time gathering wood and sculpting fine furniture for those with wealth and those with limited means. He was not a Grandmaster, but was quick to smile, and would give most anything if it were asked. Devin lost his life on January 6th at 1:15AM, whilst making and giving away furniture outside of the Vesperian Bank. He did not ask payment for his toil, yet many of you chose to repay his kindness with such, and for this I thank you.

Devin was cut down by Lord British's foul guards while attempting to defend himself from a thief, a rogue mage who chose to pilfer Devin's livelyhood when he mistakenly dropped coins upon the cobblestone. Devin, seeking to defend his families' welfare, struck back...and was murdered wordlessly by a nearby guard. He died in the arms of a friend, Aimeric of Magincia, who was unable to avenge him under the watchful eye of the tyrannical guards.

I ask, where is the justice in this land....where murderers can walk freely, whilst an simple man is cut down for defending his honor and family. Lord British, we swear fealty to you so that we may prosper and have safety under your guidance. My family has been destroyed by your narrow-minded utterances. There is the blood of countless innocent people on your hands, and scrub at them as you may, it will not come off.

Devin Glowember was buried near Empath Abbey, in his hometown of Yew on January 8th (1998 earth year).
