Tenth Council Meeting - Yew Town Council, Atlantic Yew Town Council Hall, 21 Nov 1999

Gargish Dragon: Anyway, ladies and gentlemen, you probably know what the main reason is why we have gathered today. Elections are scheduled for next Saturday. So this meeting will give candidates the possibility to show their views and ideas but before we do this I ask if there are other matters that you want to be brought up today please raise hand if you want to speak.

SunWolf: I think we are planing a thanksginving dinner here during the weekend. All is invited the date will be poste don the dicssuion board of yew

Gargish Dragon: Ah well, thank you SunWolf This is a great idea

Laein Simorian: i Have schedualed a date...to rent out a tower in Unter Brae i was thinking a Christams/Haoliday party could be held there i have posted a list of guilds invited on the CoC page also i will add the war council to the list. Thank You

Gargish Dragon: Thanks, Laein

Malicite: We have a tower that can be used for events such as the Christmas Party

Malachi: I was thinking about the defense of the local citizen population we have the Militia but we are not always enough to stop those troublemakers both murderers and the likes of the OES there are numerous guilds that help us and i think we should create a formal pact between these guilds some sort of Defence Initiative if you will.. including the LOA, Clan Moor... etc. just a thought

Laein Simorian: Inia Geoffrensis the duke of unter Brae is a friand of min.... that is why so im not sure if ill change the location Mal but thank you for the thought Mal

Malicite: I was more of a second plan..If something goes wrong there is always us

SunWolf: I liek to annoounce there will be no militia meeting this next week But only the dinner during the weekend that is all

Gargish Dragon: Can you send me an invitation to the dinner? Then I will publish it, SunWolf

Dorian Underwood: I wish to ask SunWolf if the dinner to be may take place at the BWC tower?

SunWolf: It is hard for the citizens to find it there I was going to set up tables outside here

Dorian Underwood: If thou wishes I may make many runes and hand them out okay whatever thou wishes

Fiditus: What about that tower by WYU?

SunWolf: Ash could not recall i do not think as many citizens can not wyu is a focal point of trouble alot to many peopel knows of th eplace where it will be harder for them to find this but th epeopel involded and is pasrt of everything

Grail: inside the protection of the town guard is the best place

Dyluck Blade: The tower is not in protection too

Fiditus: Aye, but if we ask the owner of the tower, he can guard us by banning people who are not welcome

Dyluck Blade: Oni doesnt like these sort of htings

SunWolf: Won't it be better to eat in open doors among guards?

Gargish Dragon: ok.. I will leave the decision to SunWolf I think it is a good idea to hold it inside the town Yes, sorry Valrev

Valrev Moonlight: Sir, may I comment that the Yew Winery would be a good place

Gargish Dragon: I was going to give you the possibility to speak It would be a nice place for it, I agree

SunWolf: the yew winery is worse than wyu for an event like this the trouble is right there enxt to it

Valrev Moonlight: But it is in town

SunWolf: I was looking for something peaceful and fun

Valrev Moonlight: How about the Councelor's Hall then?

SunWolf: WE could do that

Dyluck Blade: What's wrong with here?

SunWolf: I will work on it all later with all that wishes to help

Gargish Dragon: Alright then SunWolf will make the preparations if you have ideas, please suggest them to him

SunWolf: aye

Gargish Dragon: I wanted to say a few words on the question of alliances I agree that it would be a good idea to form a larger alliance but my primary interest always was to do it with one guild at a time yes, Grail?

Grail: the Loa are a formidable force in Yew and of all Sosaria would be wise to strengthen our friendship with them for they to fight the oes

SunWolf: the loa is a great force but as for an alliance that will take sometime to ateich they have an council which meets also and dealing with a lardge guild liek that will be some work

Grail: the loa are a bit disrupted currently well, i know a few members that have oh say, some power in their voice of the guild

SunWolf: We all work together right now

Gargish Dragon: Well, the LOA have high standards and it it is not easy to match them But we should strengthen our relations to them

Grail: i do believe the LOA will be more willing to strengthen our relations than might be expected, they still respect the militia for what it stands for i know this from my time with them

Laein Simorian: well... i wanted to say that the.... Yew Fox will be updated weekly again oh did you call for my speech?

Gargish Dragon: Thanks Laein not yet I think Rainbow wanted to add a comment

Rainbow King: On the matter of Alliances in general I think relationships between Yew and the other comminuties are defenitly something we need to look at now we are slowly becomming abit more established I think the efforts of both Zenda and Sunwolf as captains didn't go unnoticed And already the others look at us in a different and more respected manner So I ould say, keep up the good work and the other communities will soon follow That is all

SunWolf: what I wanted to say on these allanices Wyu members sit on our council and at times loa does I and others of the militia have been working with loa since renee was captain the ties are good now and we are still working with them as allies clan moor approached me and intreduced stc aswell My total goal is have all these comunities work like a state as one for the total benifite of the whole area most of them agree i have been given names of other villages also that wish to be looked to into jioning It was my thought of why This building and what yew was started as Or what came to be over time But so far all the ties among all the guilds are the best than they ever were that is all but we shall contuie working on them aswell

Okay Well first off I would like to thank the few members of the Militia that have been at the BWC's call when needed tis very honored Next I would like to ask all of the people involved with the town of YEW for one thing the I as well as the BWC i'm sure of want to be more involved... and Malicite i'm sure keeps in contact with many of you... however sometimes he is not around So it is up to I or the rest of the BWC to become involved with the situations regarding YEW and such... so what i'm asking of is that I am at everyone's beckoned call if thou wishes and to the some who may not have a way to contact me I shall give out my ICQ number to everyone as this moment 46456517 46456517 Also I would like to invite everyone to the tower of BWC after this meeting is everyone For drinks and food I hope that many of you will attend? Laein Simorian: oh gee thanks *grins* alright ill go *clears throat* Greetings Council Members, & Friends. I am here today to tell you my plans for the Yew Town Council if I were to be made The Mayor of Yew. 1st of all I would make sure that everyone who sits in this room today feels safe. 2nd I would plan out events that the people of the council want to see done, and have people participate in them. Also I would have people voulenteer to help Newer People to the area. I think it is important for the Council to talk to each other out of meeting, Yes people do talk to eachother but only to those they know. I think that if more people got to know eachother better then we would have the best council on UO. I also have plans to start donation funds so the Militia has supplies, the Council has money to do more things, and so that you the people have fun in this town. As Mayor I would be willing to give up my spare time to help each of you achive goals, there is nothing i wouldn't do to make the council better and happier. One thing that has been bothering me and most likly all of you is OES comming in and terrorizing our town, I see this is a problem and will try my best to stop it by killing them & banning them from our buildings. Also the first thing that ill do if i am Elected Mayor is to Make my oponite Rainbow King the Vice Mayor of Yew, because i know he has a ton of great ideas & to make Gargish Dragon the Secretary if it is alright with him. If I am elected Mayor of Yew I will do the best I can to Please each and everyone of you. Thank You and Please Vote for me, Laein Simorian for your New Mayor of Yew. Any Questions?

Grail: your stance with OES do you plan to make full scale war with the,m?

Laein Simorian: nae i dont like solving problems with violence

Grail: i might say banning them and slaying them on sight will surely cause them to retaliate and not toy with us any longer

Laein Simorian: well, first i would try and talk to them and see if we could work something out but i dont like to kill

Grail: i do

Laein Simorian: *laughs* well then you can kill oes if you want but it wouldnt be my demand like i said i like to see if we could fix the problem first

Malachi: *Wants higher Militia wages!!* i cant even put enough food on the table for me 3 kids let alone the feed for the animals at the farm! i risk my life each day

Grail: another question if you might

Malachi: you propose an alliance with those hellish entities? tis the only way they will leave us be

Laein Simorian: not a alliance more of a peace tredy

Grail: bah the only peaceful OES is a dead one

Malachi: non-aggresion pact they would never accept peace maybe non-agression

Laein Simorian: we dont know that we havent asked

GreyPawn: They would see Yew burnt to ashes. This is known as fact Yew, is in fact, their primary target

Laein Simorian: iw ould be willing to kill them all

Malachi: Maybe a NAP could work though

Laein Simorian: but i dont like to result to that the first

SunWolf: I like to advise who ever the mayor is to result with the militia on this matter

SunWolf: or anyother of Yew's prtection Greypawn is right thou Oes wishes to do away with Yew in ashes

GreyPawn: Yew is the longest standing city of Virtue that has posed a threat to them That is why they target it

Grail: might i ask if you plan to divert a large portion of money to training and that attainment of arms and armor

Malachi: we need wages!

GreyPawn: Wages, for Militia! This is an honorable man's gathering

Laein Simorian: like i said i would start..... voulenteer to help Newer People to the area. I think it is important for the err sorry fund for the militia

Malachi: have you ever experienced the threat of the scum around the area? i risk my life day in and out

GreyPaw: Wages......wages can be earned individually

Grail: aye, i fight for Yew and it's people not fat coifers

SunWolf: The Militia has funds we provide them ourselves thru donations and patrols

Gargish Dragon: Well, may I suggest we hear Rainbow King before we go into a broader discussion?

Laein Simorian: I am also alavilble for the rest of the night for questions

Gargish Dragon: Rainbow King?

Rainbow King: My dear friends... I hope you all had a chance to read both mine and Laiens message on the YTC board with our programs I'll try and go through them abit now The most important point I see is that of Organization I think there are already alot of fine initiatives, events and ideas They just lack a certain, organization and order to fall back on Therefor my main point is that of an organizing Mayor Office That would mean regular, punctual and scheduled Town Council Meetings I order to ba ble to organize I would be available and reply within a day on any commands, suggestions or ideas made through ICQ, mail or messageboards I think we need to strive for as much information as possible.... soo many people would like to get involved in Yew, help out or attend it's events... but often simply don't know they're happening So Organization is my main point, through availibity, Town meetings, meetings with the militia and meetings in private

Dorian Underwood: I hope as well meeting with alliances?

Rainbow King: *smiles* I was commint to that Once we have established some order and enhanced the effeciency of the Council We are ready to discuss relationships between other communities That could be guilds like the BWC, other towns like the LOA-village or Minoc And even our enemies the OES

Dorian Underwood: sorry RK I missed what you said before the thing about OES could you repeat sir?

Rainbow King: It is for that reason I want to re-establish the function of Embassader For dorian in summarise: First enhance organization within Yew then establish relationships with other communities So as I was saying.... enhance the ways we operate with other communities through the usage of an Embassador Then I would like to appoint another Town Magistrate From the thugs that live behind the Abbey to the OES terrorising the woods it's very clear that we need someone who knows who's doing what and if needs be putting someone on trial There is one part I would like to make a few statements on though You should make a clear difference between for instance thieves at the abbey and the OES The ones behind the abbey are simple thugs... people who want to make your life miserable and they require a special way of dealing with Wich is usually killing But the 'terrorizing' OES isn't... you shouldn't forget they are a roleplaying guild When they 'terrorize' Yew what they really want is to have a few events between them and the Militia.... increasing the fun both they and the Militia has So should we fight the Militia? Darn straight we should.. with all our heart! But I really think banning or killing them on site (unless it fits the event) is rather pointless

Grail: i like the killing part

Rainbow King: *smile* I'm sure I forgot quite a few things so I would suggest all to take a look at the YTC messageboard and read up on both Laiens and my ideas One last thing though I'm a man who believes deeply in paying people the respect they deserve So I would like to make a personal statement Gargish Dragn is without a doubt one of the finest Mayors that can be found troughout the lands... he has served this Town with all his heart for as long as I know and if t wasn't for personal matters I'm sure he would have ran for another term in office Therefor, regardless who get's elected I would like to support Gargish Dragon for Honorary Mayor of Yew.... a title he has surely earned Are there any questions?

Grail: just a statement the strongest defense supports the strongest offense something to keep in mind for whom ever wins the elections

Rainbow King: I plan to work very close with the captain and the other appointed positions Supporting them and guiding them where I can But the Captain is in charge of Militaru decisions... we have an excellent one I'm sure he'll do well

Dorian Underwood: Aye and I along with BWC wish to work with RK as much as possible or the appointed mayor *sorry*
