Now where was I?

Ohhh yes Melisande the dryad had been struck ill and mischeif was afoot in the lands of Ilshenar.

It was Eva who also led the guard after Melisande when we realized that those leaves from Yew moongate, were from her!

It was a terrible endeavor; the woods near the water fall were infested with plagued animals, centaurs, kirrin, unicorns and even treefolk! Melisande herself spoke strangely and had an odd look in her eyes. Condemning us all for the evil 'we' had brought upon her and her fellows. It was truly a painful sight to see. And to see her tree, twisted and dark a reflection of her now twisted heart.

Plague thorn trees sprouting around the infested waters. It is a dark time for creatures of magic my friends.

A very dark time has indeed befallen us all. It makes me wonder what happened to that happy little sprite that tried to warn of all of this.

What ever became of Aile? Ahh well tis not for me to worry about, I just keep the notes for the adventurous types. But that tree in the Trinsic meeting hall, surely it must mean something.

The Meer mage, Eva Sten asked Lady Jade Hushenhoy to summon the guard forth once more. It was a simple recover mission. Eva had tracked down a book, one whose pages had been torn out, held the key to sending a signal to the ‘ancient ones’. The first clue to the whereabouts of the pages led them to a remote island with a strange marble teleporter that led into the Lost Lands. There the guard noticed a shipwrecked young man yammering about a strange mage and murder. Few took note of him and even fewer spoke to the poor shipwrecked individual.

Their search on the island was not without incident, a guardian of Templa was roused and he slew many guards before he was laid back to a peaceful rest. The guard did find a chest on the island containing the papers they required but upon retrieving them a ‘masked mage’ who looked strikingly a lot like Ocrmfg Ocig had, intervened. He summoned forth strange and terrifying beasts to way lay the guard as he tried to snatch the papers from Commander Hushenhoy.

The guard was able to drive back the terrifying diseased unicorns, but when the smoke and sulfurous ash cleared, the mage was gone. Some tried to follow him through the teleporter and only found the remains of an unknown mage, holding a sewing kit. None were certain exactly what this meant, but the guard returned to Serpents Hold to pass off the papers to Eva, and received sashes from Lady Jade.

Days later...

The guard eagerly awaited at the meeting hall as the gem had flickered a bright and shining crimson red. A shimmering gate opened on the platform and cheers went out “LADY JADE!” but then a strange man in yellow stepped out, adjusted his hat and called, “Ladies and Gentlemen!”. The crowd was struck dumb for a moment as the showman, Lefty took center stage and began addressing them over his need for their services.

He explained that he had Jade’s permission to ask for their aide and that it would require some fine miners. He opened a gate to Nujelm where the crowd could see that the area behind an abandoned home had been fenced off. ‘Lefty’ claimed that there was an abundance of treasure and natural resources buried beneath the surface of Nujelm and he intended to have first stake in it, but first the sand needed to be moved away. So he passed out a few pickaxes and some ‘how to – mine sand’ books and explained there would be a time limit on this little game he had planned. (Continued)
