Title: Sir Dupre's Quest

Author: Videric Gaveston

Videric Gaveston was on his usual business trip in Britain, the city of Compassion. He was thinking of buying some books and scrolls for Lycaeum at a cheap price and selling to them in Moonglow with a higher price. It seemed like a usual day for a merchant.

At the local scribe Videric heard most strange news about Sir Dupre collecting people to help Britannia. This could mean a perfect opportunity to have a change to introduce his trading business, and be noticed by the nobles, in other words the people with the most gold. After short consideration he set towards the road to Trinsic where he knew Sir Dupre's camp would be.

Although Videric was not really a warrior, he had a good fencing skill which he had learned in Trinsic many years ago, so he felt relatively safe to travel there alone.

After a long walk he could see the blue tents of Sir Dupre's encampment, and as he approached he saw a human sized figures waiting. Naturally Videric presumed that to be Lord Britishes man, but as soon as it stepped near the braziers the truth was revealed. An Undead Knight attacked against him, taking Videric by surprise, luckily he had his shield ready so he managed to block the first blow.

A fearsome battle followed and Videric felt that the undead was starting to gain an upper hand, as his kryss did little damage to the bones of undead. Suddenly a fearsome cry interrupted the battle and the skeleton was hit by a heavy sword. "Die scum" said the strange knight and smashed the undead to a bone pile.

"Thank you good sir knight", said Videric politely to the noble man, and continued: "Thou'rt Lord Britiesh knight, I presume?". The knight smiled and said: "I fight for my dearest friend". Videric nodded and told the knight, that he presumed to be Sir Dupre, that he was a merchant and not a knight himself. Sir Dupre nodded and told Videric that all hands were needed at these grave times and suggesting that Videric should stay.

Before the merchant could start to tell about his caravan business, other travellers started to arrive. Among the arriving people was the leader of Custodes Fati, Pad O'lion. Sir Dupre was surrounded by a crowd in no time, and Videric lost his change to prose a deal with court of Britannia.

Sir Dupre

"According to Joye, Malabelle is the key to regaining Trinsic" -Sir Dupre

After much crowd had gathered Sir Dupre told that he needed everyone's help to find Malabelle, the vile Sorceress who had attacked our cities many times. He spoke that she would be a key to regain Trinsic back, and that he had to speak to her personally. Now only her Lair would need to be found, which should be near Trinsic...

Luckily Pad O'lion knew of the location of this hideout and led the group there. Immediately after arriving a large horde of undead attacked the party and almost defeated it. With quick running and avoiding slow undead Videric was able to get a hold of a note inside Malabelle's hut. The note said: "...leave her in the keeping of the gazer...he will know what to do..." According to the note it seemed that Malabelle's own forces had betrayed her.

The fight against growing number of undead lasted a good while, and started to get hopeless... it was at this point where Videric and Pad O'Lion decided it was better to head to Dupre, than continue. After escaping the undead and reporting Sir Dupre of their findings, the group headed to Cove as the gazers were known to attack the area often.

The group arrived at Cove where they found a strange man named Seth, who stood next to a bloody corpse of a man or woman whose murder he was most likely guilty, judging how he acted.

After long interrogation and trying to take him to Sir Dupre, the man turned into a demon form and commanded a horde of hell hounds against Videric and others. Luckily the group was large and there was no trouble banishing these creatures to the Abyss where they came from. As the demon fell, he dropped a map on the ground guiding the group to North of Vesper.

Seth the Demon

At Vesper the group got separated and Videric continued to reach the strange huts near Vesper with help of a stranger. After much hesitation, Videric stepped to a moongate that he and his companion found at the huts. And to their surprise the moongate lead to Minoc caves, at least there they presumed to be.

After careful search, a strange passageway was found in a dark corner of the cave. Slowly Videric advanced forward.

Malabelle's prison cell. In the depth of the moist and dark cave the adventurers found Malabelle locked in large prison cell. Videric tried to talk her but she refused to answer any of his question, and demanded that that Videric would get Sir Dupre here because Dupre was only on who she could trust. As she requested, a messenger was sent to get Sir Dupre to Minoc. After Dupre arrived, a following conversation was had:

Malabelle: "Dupre..."

Dupre: "I have searched so hard for you", he said turn to the crowd: "'tis good that you took me in here".

Malabelle: "You are the only one that I can trust..."

Dupre: "I have spoken with the ghost of Joye"

Malabelle nodded and said: "You will help me?"

Dupre: "Joye spoke of some sort of key, a key that may help us free Trinsic. If you can provide me with that, I swear to help you in any way I can."

Malabelle sighed and said: "A Moon Key"

Dupre: "Aha!"

Malabelle: "But you will help me...and my lover Tyball"

Dupre: "Yes, I promise to help you in any way I can. Are you in need of anything?"

Malabelle: "You need to help me find him. Promise me, and I will help you..."

Dupre: "As Paladin of Honour, I will do all I can to find this Tyball, if he is the one you love, you will be re-united.

Malabelle: "You are an honourable person..."

Dupre: "Now please, let me have that key, so I can draw battle plans."

Malabelle nodded and gave him the Moon Key, and said: "Do not forget what you told me...I want Tyball back."

Dupre: "I am a man of my word"

Malabelle: "If we will not be reunited all of Britannia will pay the price."

Dupre: "I will get Tyball back for you."

"'tis good that you took me in here" -Dupre

After this Malabelle vanished to a hiding place most likely and Dupre lead the group back to his camp where he held a short speech:

"Citizens, The time has arrived and without you all this would not have been possible. Tomorrow we shall unite as one, and we shall march to the entrance of Trinsic. With the key that Malabelle has given me we will be able to regain Trinsic. This is a serious blow to Jou'nars face, may he rot in hell for all eternity! Tomorrow eve, when the sun sets low, we will meet here. If we all fight together, as one man, Trinsic well be ours again!

Spread the word. Get all armsmen together! FOR PEACE! FOR TRINSIC!

Thank you all, today you have been a great help" After these words he retired to his camp, probably to plan tomorrow's attack. After all was over, Videric felt very tired after all he had experienced. Strangely he felt it was also his duty to help the king to gain Trinsic back.
