Auren Therion: I hath some interesting news

Katherine: I have seen many of ratmen and lizards. But I think that is not what you speak of?

Auren Therion: Aye... But this time When I didst awaken, I went to the east side and I did but find dozens upon dozens of giant serpents and spiders. As well as some human corpses.
Katherine: *gasp*

Katherine: I had not heard of this
Auren Therion: The streets were filled with bodies.... mostly of the monsters. But it gets more interesting.
Katherine: ?

Tassadar: Seems to be a rather common occurance, as of late
Auren Therion: While looking to see if any were in need of aid, I did spy a strange figure Appearing among the thrall. This figure was dressed brown/bronze robes, Like a seer. Before I knew it, The figure had disappeared. The figure later appeared, And appeared to be tending To the remains of a slain person. I saw them placing roses. I tried to run up to them, and ask them what they were doing, But the figure vanished yet again.
Katherine: *stares with mouth open*
Auren Therion: Then I saw the figure again, And this time I managed to talk to them. The figure is only known as the Elder Lady Sorceress. A difficult person to speak with, She could not give a straight answer. She finally said She was here to collect souls
Katherine: !!
Tassadar: eek

Auren Therion: I did not know what she meant. But she said, Souls like the deamons of Hythloth

Auren Therion: There were other people witnessing. Most thought it was a pleasant joke, and made strange comments. But I wanted to learn more. Unfortunately she said she had more bodies to attend to

Tassadar: Pretty much all that is going on is the Magistrate Elections. We've (obviously) decided to not have the elections at the rivendell carnival today.. because first the carnival was cancelled

Tassadar: and second it would of been difficult to get our canidates to show up on such short notice. So we'll probably have the elections next weekend..

Tassadar: but we invited all of the canidates to attend today's meeting so they can get to know us

Tassadar: Jim seems to be the only one who took up our offer

Tassadar: This will probably be a shorter than normal meeting.. since Cenny and Vix can't make it

Jim Marrins: who whould the magistrate work most diretly with?
Tassadar: Hrm..Probably Klarr, Molly, and myself

Tassadar: once we have a captain you'll work with him alot also Since the Magistrate job is alot of roleplaying duties.. I think it would just be who ever is in a "quest" at the current time, so the magistrate will probably work with everyone. hopefully alot

Auren Therion: So the Magistrates duty...Would be described as a liason between the army and the government?
Tassadar: No..Magistrate is basically a sherriff

Tassadar: he was the magistrate.. but he also had some input on the army.. but there was still a captain of the militry

Tassadar: This is the council of Compassion.. and since compassion will be destroyed in this land we'll be moving..and since we are moving, that is why we have not made a public announcement.

Tassadar: But what we're going to do is have an event (next weekend hopefully) all the canidates come out, we invite anyone who wants to, to come out and meet them. we give the people who comes either a rune or a webpage url where they can go vote for who they thought would be best

Molly: *wonders where we can do this without Brit lag*
Jim Marrins: indeed
Tassadar: That way only people who can vote (in theory) are those who accually come to meet the canidates. Vix and I are investigating several free web polls, that's what we'll probably use
Joost shadow Xx: How do you stop unauthorized people from voting?
Molly: *sees his hand raised first*
Tassadar: Good question. got any ideas?

Katherine: Some polls let you keep track, And only let people vote once
Tassadar: Aye.. webpolls only allow each IP to vote once. but I suppose there's nothing stopping that person from icqing it to everyone.. and a UO ballot box would work

Tassadar: except there's nothing stopping you from gating yer friends to vote for someone
