Martial Doctrine 1

Title: Martial Doctrine I
Author: Loremaster Vikugo
The Jukan way of battle is a long and storied set of traditions and ethos that date back as far as our recorded history, and even predating to the days when we would only sing our stories instead of write them down as is common now. The martial doctrine consists of a set of staunch and unyielding codes and woe betide any Jukan whom defies them. A Jukan Warrior will live, fight, breathe, and die under the martial doctrine.
With Honor We Stride, In Honor We Pride, With Honor We Die
A Jukan warrior is as nothing without Honor in battle, and a thousand victories through treachery do not garner as much glory as even one honorable defeat. The Honor of a Jukan must be unassailable, so that enemies and allies come to view them with respect. A Jukan who cannot be trusted to fulfill their Honor is of as much worth as a wolf who turns on his brother, and shall be cast aside from his pack just as swiftly. A Jukan warrior who does Honor justice shall surely have their Life Song chanted to the Blessed Halls of Honor and be welcomed into the arms of the Great Mother without exception.
We Heed Duty’s Call, In Its Service We Fall
A Jukan warrior does not shy from his duty to the Jukan people, his duty to the Warlord, his duty to the Shirron, or his duty to Honor. A Jukan’s duty is clear, and a Jukan is first beholden to Honor, then to their Shirron, then to their Warlord, and then to the Jukan people. For a Jukan to fall short of his duty to his people will result in tarnishment, for a Jukan to fall short of his duty to his Warlord will result in banishment, for a Jukan to fall short of his duty to his Shirron will result in death, but for a Jukan to fall short of his duty to Honor will result in never having their Life Song chanted to the Blessed Halls of Honor, and they shall be left as carrion to rot.
