First Thoughts

I begin this special journal only to record my mind concerning the human I met He tells me his ancestral heritage is Yew but he has been exiled, more or less, by his brother, a twin apparently, named Thraxas.

I met Thrax in Heartwood and he invited me to his home...

-the next several entries describe the visit and her impressions of the man and impressions of him-

Entry Sixteen

I do fear I am falling in love with the man and this frightens me. I do not want this now. Still, he treats me kindly and shares his inmost thoughts with me. I must ask him to tell me more of that man.

-More entries follow of her growing feelings toward Thrax-

Entry Twenty

At last I have learned what I wanted to know of this Thraxas who has been appointed Lord Regent of Yew.

Apparently he is not...

-This section has been torn out as well as several pages following...-

Entry Twenty-Seven

Thrax says he is in danger and I believe it. He claims his brother intends to kill him. Thrax has told me he has included me in his will.

I asked him not to, but he has kin in Heartwood, living with their support. That pleases me well. I finally have a place of my own and it suits me. We are happy together.

Entry Twenty-Eight

There is a group of elves becoming restless in Heartwood. They have heard of Magnate Isk's lectures at Alderglen Academy.

Entry Twenty-Nine

I cannot say what we discussed; I must not write that down here. Some of the group do not trust Thrax. They believe he is a spy for his brother.

-The next several entries describe aspects of meetings with Heartwood elves to decide how best to oppose the lectures at the Academy-

Entry Thirty-Eight

I am enjoying my stay with Thrax but he wishes to marry me. I keep refusing him, not because I do not love him, but because we must focus on our task at hand.

Entry Thirty-Nine

Thrax is angry with me for refusing his proposal. He stormed out today heading to Heartwood. I fear for him and begged him not to go alone. I do not yet know what my people have decided concerning him and it may go badly for him.

Entry Forty

Thrax is dead!

He was murdered. I cannot believe my people did it, but they must have decided to vote against him in my absence.

There is a knock at the door. I must answer it now. I will finish this later.
