How did she get voted in at all? That was absolutely worthless.

Simple. She was voted because she was liked, and mariah appeared, who never attends except to vote.

Notice she doesn't give an example of any sort of change she would make. She just said "good changes."

That's because she doesn't think changes are needed.

I'm very surprised to see that she has a tolerant stance of arcane study. Is there a reason for this? I assumed she would be strongly against it.

It's politically wiser to not show one's self as being overly prejudiced or emotional towards any group.

Did the Protectorate or Starfire actually do anything about the orcs, like Sid claims? I don't recall them doing anything.
