Title: House of the Dove

Author:

The House of the Dove was started by Sir Reginald Fortinbras seven generations ago. Lord Reginald was known as a gracious and skilled diplomat, thus the Dove was chosen as the Heraldry of his House.

Those who fought against Lord Reginald however, knew that when diplomacy failed, he and his men were courageous and skilled warriors. In the battle of Serpent's Spire, Lord Reginald and twenty of his bravest Knights demonstrated their unrivaled courage by defending a crucial pass against an Orcish force number in the hundreds.

They fought to the final man, and as the last knight fell to his death, only 7 wounded Orcs remained to finish their attack on the village beyond the pass. The ranchers and farmers of the town were able to defend their homes against these wounded Orcs and drove the weary monsters completely away with a few well-aimed arrows. The people of that village never forgot the sacrifice of the House of the Dove and they spent the next few days burying and honoring each fallen Knight in turn. For generations after, the citizens of the village have named their children after one of the 20 Knights who died to protect them that fateful day.
