Title: Gwenno

Author: Aalia

Gwenno is the wife of Iolo.

Gwenno's character is based on Kathleen Jones, David R. Watson's wife.

Gwenno is a woman with diverse talent. She's an entertainer, and wrote the lyrics for the famous song "Stones", which was composed by her husband Iolo. She's also a scholar and explorer.

In Ultima II, Gwenno and Iolo can be seen together in the town of New San Antonio, enclosed within walls reading "Iolo" and "Gwen". In Ultima IV, Gwenno appeared in Britain (though her name is spelled "Gweno" in the original game), entertaining children along with Iolo.

Gwenno was found in Britain during Ultima V, where she cared for the bow shop, while Iolo was wanted by the regime (and she wondered how they could actually stay in business). She gladly joined the party, to help toppling the dictatorship on Lord Blackthorn.

During the gargoyle war in Ultima VI, Gwenno was in Minoc, when the Avatar arrived in the town. Joining the Avatar in the quest, also because Iolo was with the Avatar, she taught him/her patiently to play Stones on a flute, to get the Rune of Sacrifice.

Gwenno was not seen in Ultima VII, but she has left a letter for Iolo where she says she has left to explore the Serpent Isle. But she had bad luck there, and was possessed by the Wantoness Bane. Before she could do any damage, Batlin's men killed her, to get the bane. The Gwani buried her in an icy tomb. The Avatar resurrected Gwenno, and healed her mind in Ultima VII/2. Later, she joined the party, after Dupre had sacrificed himself, to help restoring balance to the lands.

Gwenno had returned to Britannia in Ultima IX; she lived near Britain with Iolo and had become a blond. (seen as non-canon by many fans).

Originally, the first time her picture is seen in Ultima VI, she has black hair.
