Fifteenth Meeting of the Yew Council
From Atlantic Roleplay Wiki
Thrawn: okay, let's begin then
Gotter McVay: ah
Pyros: Gotter
Pyros: grab a seat
Thrawn: thank you for coming
Thrawn: first, I'd like to briefly mention our guildstone
Thrawn: we had problems with the old one, strange behavior
Thrawn: so we were given a new one
Thrawn: unfortunately
Thrawn: everybody that was on the old stone must be added a new to this one
Pyros: Hail Laein, haven't seen you in a while
Laein Simorian: *smiles*
Laein Simorian: Hello
Thrawn: so if you are not on the new stone yet, have someone who is sponsor you
Thrawn: and you will be admitted as soon as possible
Laein Simorian: Tis okay
Thrawn: so spread the word on that if you will
Thrawn: to others who may have been on the stone but now find themselves off it
Thrawn: also, on the same topic
Laein Simorian: Ahh
Thrawn: with this new stone, the war with OES has not been renewed as of yet
Pyros: Nor will it be
Thrawn: it seems obvious from difficulties with the war
Thrawn: and whining and accusations from both sides
Thrawn: that a true "roleplaying war" seems a bit like wishful thinking
Thrawn: we will look at other avenues to interact with them perhaps
- Lord Rainbow King says Might I ask a qustion on that?
Thrawn: and listen to suggestions
Thrawn: sure, go ahead
- Lord Rainbow King says Perhaps it would be better to surround 'roleplaying wars' as you call them with
- Lord Rainbow King says abit more background and story.... Roleplaying isn't decided on the fact
Thrawn: that is not my term for them, that's just what ive heard it called
Laein Simorian: *waves*
- Lord Rainbow King says wether or not people use Aye's and thee's but on the fact wether or not their actions
- Lord Rainbow King says represent a role and a story or just human reactions
- Lord Rainbow King says Just my view on it
Thrawn: right, good point
Thrawn: I am sure many agree with you on that
- Lord Rainbow King says We're supposed to be rp, so does OES the fact both fight each other
- : Lord Rainbow King says doesn't make it a rp-war
Thrawn: *nods*
Thrawn: would anybody else like to comment on the war?
- Lord Ni'Vek III says Perhaps Gath?
Jared Farstrider: speaketh of the dark one...
Gath of Baal: Hello flesh slugs.
Gath of Baal: *Crackles*
Adi Mundi: flesh slugs? how uplifting
Thrawn: Gath would you like to comment at all on the "war" at all? we were just about
Thrawn: finished discussing it
Thrawn: ok, I guess not
Thrawn: hello Dyluck
Dyluck Blade: Hiya
- Gath of Baal says Ermm
- Gath of Baal says The war?
Thrawn: the one which existed between OES and Yew
- Gath of Baal says What about it?
Thrawn: we just discussed how the new stone had elminated the official state of war
Thrawn: and that we had no intentions at this time to renew the war
Thrawn: since you were late, I offered you a chance to comment
- Gath of Baal says Well, I cannot speak for my men..
- Gath of Baal says But as for myself..
- Gath of Baal says I do not see any reason to jump right back into war at this point.
- Gath of Baal says Of course thats just my opinion.
Thrawn: very well, thank you
Thrawn: next, I would just like to point out some other resources
Thrawn: to keep up with what is going on with the town of Yew and the Council
Thrawn: with the help of Pyros, we have recently moved our web site
- Gath of Baal says Very well.
Thrawn: to a new location... actually the old location Gargish used
Thrawn: I strongly suggest people check there a few times each week
Thrawn: for news and updates
Thrawn: as well as read the message boards and forums for hot topics
Thrawn: there is also a voting booth where you can express your opinion
Thrawn: the topic right now has to do with the faction wars
Thrawn: which we will discuss in a moment
Thrawn: so.. get out those quill pens and parchment
Thrawn: and write down this address....
Thrawn: http://yewcouncil.brenner.de
Thrawn: that.s yewcouncil.brenner.de
Thrawn: *gives everybody a moment to write it down*
Thrawn: ok, next topic
Thrawn: now, it seems like Juonar has been defeated and Trinsic has been freed
Thrawn: I would just like to thank everybody who helped in the battles there
Shade: *curses*
Thrawn: and congratulate the Militia and all the brave warriors and mages
Thrawn: who were able to pull together and rid the town of the acursed undead
Thrawn: it was a major victory to the forces of good throughout Britannia
Thrawn: so cheers to those who helped free Trinsic!
Thrawn: and rememberance for those courageous souls who lost their lives there!
Gotter McVay: aye
Jared Farstrider: *nods solemly*
- Gath of Baal says Feh
Dyluck Blade: That's a crappy cheer
Pyros: heh
Thrawn: last week, much of the meeting was used to discuss the upcoming faction wars
Thrawn: so I would like to open the discussion on that mater again
Thrawn: several plans and lines of reasoning were discussed
Thrawn: and I am anxious to hear more ideas and opinions on the matter
Gotter McVay: *raises hand*
Thrawn: Gotter
Dunedain: please summarize for those of us who missed last meeting
Gotter McVay: I think we should stay out of it and
Gotter McVay: go to the new land
Gotter McVay: we can have guild war there
Dyluck Blade: *raises hand*
Gotter McVay: we dont need a town that
Gotter McVay: is a battleground for
Gotter McVay: every twink on the shard
Thrawn: okay, thank you Gotter... let me summarize quickly, yhen Dyluck can speak
Thrawn: some share Gotter's opnion
Thrawn: some suggested making many friends among the Guilds we know, and fighting
Thrawn: in the wars to gain true control over our town
Thrawn: and some suggested having a presence in both worlds
Thrawn: another suggestion was preparing well in advance
Thrawn: and tryng to take the leads in the wars and win by being organized well
Thrawn: and yet another idea was to try out the wars, and be prepared to leave for the
Thrawn: new lands if the war was filled with "twinks" and such
Thrawn: I think that briefly sums up most of the suggestions...
Knightmare: I am sorry, but something has come up, and I must be excused.....
Thrawn: now, Dyluck?
Knightmare: Farewell.
Pyros: zfarewell
Dyluck Blade: Alright, I think we should just wait and see til the new lands come out
Dyluck Blade: I mean, we have no idea who is going
Dyluck Blade: Both sides will have dewds, twinks, whatever you call em
Dyluck Blade: Just some will be red, and some will be working for a faction
Dyluck Blade: The only advantage I see to the new lands is it's easier to hunt there
Thrawn: fair point, thank you
Thrawn: anybody else have something to add?
Dunedain: yes
Thrawn: go ahead
- Lord Ni'Vek III says Who?
Dunedain: i am not sure what the official school posityion is
Dyluck Blade: I do
Dunedain: while there will be another town of Yew
Dunedain: to go to in the new lands
Dunedain: there will not be another WYU
Dunedain: it is player built
Dunedain: unless we build a new school
Dunedain: we are stuck here
Dunedain: for good or bad
Thrawn: good point
Dunedain: and we do not have the staff
Dunedain: to run two schools
Thrawn: I have asked the Seers and even a GM about transferring such places to the new
Thrawn: to the new lands if they so wish
Thrawn: I have yet to get an answer yet
GreyPawn: May I comment?
Thrawn: certainly
- Lord Rainbow King says I would like to respond on that as well
GreyPawn: As of yet, there are no intended plans to transfer any type of community...
GreyPawn: Blessed or not.....from one realm to the other.
GreyPawn: I've confirmed this with several Seers, and Dev Team members.
Thrawn: thank you then for clearing that up
Thrawn: so, in effect, we would need to start from scratch?
GreyPawn: *nods*
Thrawn: hmmm... another thing to consider... an important one.. thank you GreyPawn
Thrawn: Rainbow King?
- Lord Rainbow King says Well personaly I feel the discussion about transferring communities to be a void one
- Lord Rainbow King says IF we decide to go to the new lands
- Lord Rainbow King says Wether or not our presence their will be assisted by our green friends
- Lord Rainbow King says Should be based on our actions.. as they used to be
- Lord Rainbow King says Not on the fact wether or not we already acquired those rights in an ancient past
- Lord Rainbow King says IF we transfer it will take alot of work
- Lord Rainbow King says And based on that work they will make their decision
- Lord Rainbow King says Simply asking for it seems like a bad thing, even if they would grant it
- Lord Rainbow King says Just my personal view on it
Thrawn: fair enough, thank you... would either Seer like to comment on this?
Lady Seer Magdalena: *laughs*
- Lord Ni'Vek III says I would like to toss something back out on the faction war topic.....
- GreyPawn says I don't think they are going to touch that with a ten foot pole.
Lady Seer Magdalena: Not in particular.
Dunedain: may i speak again
Lady Seer Magdalena: But what I should add..
- Lord Rainbow King says Does anyone have a ten foot pole stuck in his backpack?
Lady Seer Magdalena: is that a final decision on councils has not yet been made.
Lady Seer Magdalena: But I wouldn't make your plans to count on it.
Thrawn: thank you Lena
Thrawn: Nivek then Dunedain
- Lord Ni'Vek III says Well, just my opinion....
- Lord Ni'Vek III says since I deal with the "twinks" and pks more often than I'd like to
- Lord Ni'Vek III says But with the factions, do you not vote for a leader?
- Lord Ni'Vek III says And does the leader have any control over who is in the faction?
Pyros: yes you may vote for the people in the 2 highest ranks
Thrawn: correct, but the leaders much have high "kill counts" to run for election
Gotter McVay: SO the PKs will be king
Gotter McVay: excellant
- Lord Ni'Vek III says But, the pks who are in guilds
- Lord Ni'Vek III says will have to give up their guild wars to go in a faction
- Lord Ni'Vek III says My estimation is that few of the factions will be well organized
- Lord Ni'Vek III says and that most will have internal squabbling
- Lord Ni'Vek III says I think the system is poorly designed
- Gath of Baal says Indeed
Gotter McVay: aye
Pyros: *nods*
- Lord Ni'Vek III says But, it does directly involve Yew.
- Lord Ni'Vek III says Since it will be a faction town.
- Lord Rainbow King says The system leaves a small opening to take advantage of though
- Lord Rainbow King says In my opinion the group who can work the best with the others and can overcome
- Lord Ni'Vek III says Agreed...
- Lord Rainbow King says it's internal strugglings and futes the best has a chance
- Lord Rainbow King says That goes for pvp and rp groups
- Lord Ni'Vek III says But it's nearly impossible to organize random people.
- Lord Ni'Vek III says Especially bloodthirsty ones
- Lord Rainbow King says Perhaps this could be a test how well we can work together instead of against each other
- Lord Ni'Vek III says Also agreed.
- Lord Ni'Vek III says I would love to see a bunch of guilds come together
- Lord Ni'Vek III says and fight for one cause
- Lord Ni'Vek III says Could be fun and interesting....
- Lord Ni'Vek III says or it could be stupid and annoying...
Thrawn: indeed, there are still a lot of unknowns
- Lord Ni'Vek III says it really depends on how smoothly the whole system works... and how devoted people
- Lord Ni'Vek III says are to making it work
Thrawn: *nods*
Thrawn: thank you.. Dunedain?
Dunedain: thank you
Dunedain: the reason i believe the gods will not assist in transfering established
Dunedain: communities
Dunedain: is that they dont want the new lands
Dunedain: filled upo with veterens
Dunedain: it will be a nece safe place for newbies to thrive and develop
Dunedain: and the gods need room foor the newbies
Dunedain: they really want us veterans to remain hrere
Dunedain: it will be a great plac e for a safe house
Dunedain: but i dont think many veterans
Dunedain: wwioll want to "transfer"
Dunedain: we should really be concentrating on developing strategies
Dunedain: for how to p[rotect our "investments" in these lands
Dunedain: as for the faction system
Dunedain: i dont think we can count on it as a means to controll the mayhemers
Dunedain: no form of organization will ever appeal to them
Dunedain: just my oopinion
Thrawn: thank you
Thrawn: anybody else?
Pyros: yah
Thrawn: go ahead
Pyros: Just a quick question
Pyros: There isn't some kind of tax or duty to be a part of a faction is there?
Thrawn: I don't think so... just the ability to change prices in the town, no?
Pyros: I can't remember for sure
Pyros: I know [Lum's] system called for it
Pyros: I take it no one knows?
Pyros: ok
Thrawn: I don't remember reading anything about any taxes or duties
Adi Mundi: im sorry sumthin has come up with me as well i must go
Pyros: *nods*
Adi Mundi: may the force be with you
Thrawn: if nobody has anything else to speak of, I will bring this meeting to a close...
Pyros: anyone have anything else to say on anything?
Gotter McVay: um...
Gotter McVay: if the council decides to stay here...
Gotter McVay: shuld we establish a brach
Gotter McVay: in the new lands?
Thrawn: that is a possibility
Pyros: probibly best left for when the system comes out
Pyros: and we know exactly how the factions opperate
Thrawn: anything else?
Thrawn: in that case, thank you all for coming
Thrawn: a log of this meeting will be posted soon
Thrawn: make sure to visit at yewcouncil.brenner.de
Thrawn: thank you all
