Ezerak
From Atlantic Roleplay Wiki
Ezerak by unknown
Ezerak, first of the
first as written in
the Codex of Oblivion,
one of the chosen
twelve children stole
away from the
mainland by Nizar
after his discovery
and enlightenment of
the Ebon Skull. It
is written in the
hollowed texts of
Oblivion that he was
a young teenage street
urchin, a peasant thief
coupled to his own
sister that lived day
to day in the sewers
of Britain. Yet,
thievery was not what
attracted the attention
of Nizar; his minor
dabbling in necromancy
during this
time-period made him
a prime candidate for
The Grand Culling.
As with each of the first twelve of the original cult of the Ebon Skull they were the most skilled mage children that Nizar could locate throughout the lands. Under the influence of the Ebon Skull and Nizar, the child wizards had their wills bent towards their goals and by the time that they were adults they were nearly subservient to the Skull with every fiber of their being.
Ezerak was perhaps the most powerful of the original children in raw talent and it was this that made him Nizar's and the Skull's most favorite pupil. This shear fact lead Ezerak to be chosen as the constructor and designer of the first Order's ancient tower for the study and research of Necromancy, Morn Cirith. The Dark Tower. Nizar's choice of Ezerak created resentment and jealousy among two of the original twelve cult members all vying for the supreme favor of The Skull. Eventually the covetousness of those two that would conspire together and eventually destroy Ezerak. The Covetous Pair as they are known within the Codex of Oblivion were lovers and second only to Ezerak with the favor of Nizar in the early days of the Cult. With the choosing of Ezerak to construct Morn Cirith, they began to search for ways with which to annihilate Nizar's preference of Ezerak. Several years after the construction of Morn Cirith was complete The Covetous Pair, both received a vision from The Ebon Skull and this vision detailed the story of Ezerak's life from pickpocket to most favored of the High Priest of the Skull. With the passing of each of these visions, there was a common theme, the beautiful blond child, who he found abandoned, took for his own sister and called his lover during his early teens. The Pair knew that this blond child, Sarai, if still living would now be a woman and would be the key to destroying Ezerak. Therefore, it was that this Sarai was secretly sought by the Pair to be used as a sacrifice in a ritual. Ezerak however had few tangible memories of his time before the Skull yet with the appearance of his angelic "sister" as the captive and soon to be sacrifice, his previous life came flooding back to him as an epiphany from the unknown (In reality it was another vision from the Ebon Skull using him for a higher purpose). Ezerak for a few short moments lost his dedication to Entropy and Oblivion and attacked the disciples of the Skull at the ritual, killing several, to escaping with his sister. The Covetous Pair were successful and upon hearing of this betrayal, Nizar labeled Ezerak to face the punishment of the Unnamed One, the most dreadful rite that could be performed on a traitor to the Skull. Nizar assigned the most feared blade master of the Skull, Kabar (who would eventually become the first death knight and personal guard to Nizar) to seize both Ezerak and his sister. After giving a large chase and a near epic battle with Kabar, Ezerak was captured, but not before, he could slay his sister to keep her from facing the punishments of the Skull. The punishment of the Unnamed One was soon administered to Ezerak by Nizar himself on his return to the sanctity of The Skull. First, his tongue was removed and ingested by the Ebon Skull to keep him from speaking the secrets of the Skull. Next, his eardrums were pierced with hot needles to keep him from hearing the secrets of the Skull. Thirdly, his eyes were removed with the Knife of Moire then digested by the Ebon Skull to keep him from seeing the secrets of the Skull. Then a ward was set against his hand that does not allow him to use writing instruments to divulge the knowledge of the Skull. Then the last part of the prescribed ritual was completed his body was systematically burned and scarred with the patterns of Entropy and Oblivion then left for dead in the presence of the Ebon Skull. However, as the congregation of the disciples of Nizar left the company of the Skull, the High Priest returned for he knew this to be the will of the Skull since the beginning. The ritual of the Unnamed One was not exactly the punishment it was made out to be and once Ezerak drew his last mortal breath, he would arise as a bonded servant of Morn Cirith. To serve Morn Cirith in undeath was his reward for his service to the Skull and it was the punishment for his supposed betrayal. It is said in the Codex that Ezerak walked the halls of Morn Cirith as its keeper and defender in his corporeal form then that his incorporeal form is physically bonded to the tower for all eternity. When manifested he wears thick robes, a horrid mask and keeps his entire body concealed to cover the scars of his punishment. He is not capable of speaking at least in any discovered records, his eye sockets as observed through the mask are hollow black pits but he does indeed see and in the same way, his physical form is capable of hearing.
Whatever malady destroyed the first Cult of the Ebon Skull in all proper assertions also destroyed Morn Cirith. Leaving Ezerak with no place to reside and sent back to the Negative Material Plane however if Morn Cirith is reconstructed as the Order of the Ebon Skull plans. This will no doubt lead this great evincar of evil to appear in Britannia as is written in the Codex of Oblivion.
