Statement of Purpose:
The Academy is a center of learning. It is designed to purvey the knowledge of Sosaria to interested individuals who may then use the knowledge to teach others, enhance their lives, promote their ideas, and/or further their agendas.
No subject shall be deemed out of bounds if it is competently handled by a qualified teacher or a respected Academian in the eyes of the Lord Regent of Yew, Thraxas.
Knowledge is the key to power, and power the door to happiness.
+ Academy Rules +
Every one who enters these halls to learn or teach must abide by the following rules. Those who make repeated offenses may be removed without warning by the Headmaster. They may or may not be re-admitted depending on the nature, severity, and frequency of the offense or offenses.
Rule Number One:
Fighting anywhere except in the arena on the top floor is strictly forbidden. The arena is reserved for practice sessions between mutually willing contestants, for the instruction in martial arts, sparring with creatures, for entertainment, or to resolve disputes and challenges. Arena rules will apply and they are posted therein. Fighting may not take place when classes are in session (on the main floor).
Rule Number Two:
Snooping or stealing, or looting the fallen, are strictly forbidden on these premises. There are no exceptions.
Rule Number Three:
The student will give the classroom teacher their undivided attention at all times; will not disrupt class with foolish questions, unsavory comments, horseplay, or any other activity that could be construed as annoying, distracting, pointless, childish, ranting, slander, or mindless rambling. Each teacher shall determine to what extent they will permit questioning and comments and their decision is absolute. Hence the flexibility in application of this rule may vary from teacher to teacher.
Rule Number Four:
Students must arrive on time and remain the entire time to receive accreditation for instruction received. Any who are consistently late for class, or lacking proper materials, including books, or who leave early, may forfeit their certification of the course(s) involved.
+ Tuition +
Tuition for each class may vary but it will be based upon 1) the fee requested by the teacher; 2) any overhead for materials, books, and hand outs, etc. and 3) the size of the class. The greater the number of attendees, the less each student will need to pay. Tuition will be posted for each class prior to the sign-up date.
+ Class Sessions +
No more than 20 (twenty) students may sign up for a single class. Those who are unable must wait for another session of the class to be offered.
They will be added to the list and notified when the class begins anew.
There will be two sessions per week, the dates of which will depend upon the needs of the teacher. Each session shall last for thirty to sixty minutes broken by a lunch or dinner break of fifteen minutes. A cafeteria will be open on the second floor during that time.
+ Addendum +
- The Academy is not responsible for lost materials, books, etc. Replacements may be acquired through purchase.
- If students are assaulted while on the premises from hooligans outside, and during instruction time, they may move to a place of safety but they are not to leave the building to engage in combat.
Appropriate and defensive action will be taken to ensure the safety of students and teachers.
