The late afternoon sun set the sand stone walls of theWarrior Temple ablaze with color, making the building shine like a golden jewel in the midst of the Forrest.
Ramses, Pharaoh of the Hand of Ra sat in his new office in quiet looking over the forest from his large window. He was in a reflective mood and looked down at the mound of paper work requiring his attention.
His time had been taken up with the designing and building of the new temple and the conversion of the old one into the new regency courthouse and jail. Time was of the essence since he had the state wedding of King Sidhe and Lady Autumn to host in the new building. Lord Fong's gracious gesture of returning Nujel'm to the Regency beget the Regent to release Moonglow to MTC. All parties seemed to breath a final sigh of relief to this year long issue. Then came the re-stewardship of Lady Vanya to Nujel'm and the logistical matters needed to support her there. That endeavor seemed to be going well and the city is prospering.
Then the bombings.
He shook his head unconsciously at that. It always baffled him by the irrational actions of others, especially from those who call themselves superior or purists. Such actions always meant one thing: desperation. It was almost as intriguing as the folly of those who say that the "light blinds." Light does not blind. It reveals. It reveals the true color and nature of a thing. It would seem that some cannot stand for that kind of revelation of one's soul. Those who wish to keep their hearts or agenda hidden look for the shadow.
Looking back up Ramses gazed out over the tranquil Forrest and the sea beyond. Nature seemed to know how to work in harmony.
Too bad people of these lands could not. He thought as he let out a long slow breath and looked back down at the papyrus with the current manpower rosters of his ships that would be needed to hunt for the Black Crow.
Always something to do. He allowed himself a small smile with that thought as he continued his current labor _________________ "Sometimes it's profound, sometimes... it's fritos" |
