People hate the best. Period.
I should know. Everytime I ran a guild, it wasn't just good roleplayers, it was kickass PvPers. Of which the Legion made up a core in the AoF days.
Its lonely at the top. Personally, =L= was IMO one of the best guilds to grace Atlantic. Which is why I personally look forward to trying out thier NWN2 server.
You guys were great. Always stuck with roleplay, always had a good head on your shoulders. I wish we could have made the Northern Alliance work.

I was thinking at work today...OOC people may have felt attacked by legion members because we were like a family..if you insulted one or attacked on OOC than you delt with most of us...But things were usually resolved peacefully...but we got SO much slack for being good in battle..
I made a guild..it has three people (2 aside from me)..we're good pvpers..and i know if we got to battle or argue with someone..we'll get rubbish because we'd tear through most people..Battles and War are a very large part of RP. Some people don't like it because their not very good at it..but you don't have to be good at it to have fun.
The only way to have good rp these days is to have a slacking army..which hard ever happened in medevil times...Look at MTC...when Fong took over they wearnt very threatening at all..no one really cared about them....If it wasnt for sanctus, MTC would have been trounced...they unallied Sanctus and allied legion..than they kinda leaned on us (because Legions so uber)...but now the tables have turned and MTC is pushin people around because they can....and what happens? They get unwarred because their army is stronger than other armies..
I unno..its kind of discouraging..Props to Vaen for stickin with it for so long.. |

Working with you, Arlin, was always a blast. We had similar ideas, and when our ideas weren't similar, we ALWAYS had a workable compromise within 20 minutes. Northern Alliance was by far the best alliance I ever saw. We had divisions, we had organization, we had leadership, and we had respect.
Looking forward to seeing you in NWN2.
As for the hacking thing... I don't know how many times I can say it. I don't hack. The only "illegal" thing I've ever done is use EasyUO. So if you count that as hacking, then, well, sure. I'm a hacker. But other than that, I've never used any "performance enhancing program" (e-steroids?), or anything like that.
You want to see what a real hacker can do? Look up HAX. _________________

The good thing about NWN, is that when 99.9% of the drama is traced back to one person... unlike in UO, that person is gone... _________________ Good friends are like stars. You don't always see them but you always know they are there...

Alrighty...umm I like...ummm what thread is this one again????? Oh..Legion...loved rping with him...errr them...remember first interaction I had with Rachel...she whacked Naissia over the head cause she was hallucinating and thought they were orcs..lol Vaen the great leader told Rachel to
whack her and she did....lol I was looking forward to more rp..and hate it that they are no more...tried to talk Vaen out of it ooc when he was talking of them leaving...though I still think they weree in with the rest of you all in the conspiracy of making things at times and days I couldn't make them....but that is yet another story...but I truusted them..and still do...so hopefully they will return once again to grace my screen....whenever I GET A new one...*mutters about tired fingers and too close keys* _________________ "Nature gave man two ears but only one tongue. I could hardly think of anything to say more self serving and idiotic than "everyone hate's the best".
If they did I would obviously be the most hated person on the shard.
Now on a more serious note, I loved the legion, I kind of hated the fact that since you guys were "powerful" OOC or popular in some circles criticism of the Legion was interpreted as tantamount to hate. I can understand OOC friendship, though as a moderately unpleasant person I'm not particularly fond of it, but there has to be a line drawn between backing up your friends and not tolerating any criticism at all. Though I'm sure that sort of thing happens with a lot of guilds when they are on top of their games.
I also kinda disliked the fact that your forces were involved in -every single- conflict, though most likely it made sense. It was just slightly "unfair".
But I ruv joo. |

We stayed out of quite a few rp wars, actually. Dark Order vs Sanctus, for instance. But I can't recall a war that happened that I didn't get massive ICQ's from both sides, giving a detailed explanation of why it would make RP sense for the Legion to fight for that side.
Surprisingly enough, a month later, both sides of the war were back on the "Legion are pvp twinks, to hell with them" bandwagon. But... oh wellz!
And Horace is love. Even though we hate him. IRL. Asap. _________________

As an Orc, a great deal of us were cut off from OOC interaction from the rest of the RP community(As a matter of fact, the only reason I'm here is because I'm bored and I heard this rumor than Ceinwyn had HUMONGOUS boobies, so I wanted to check the "Person behind the Pixels" forum to see this exquisite anomoly for myself!). I had not effectively gotten to know any RPers outside of Orc on a personal level in my 6+(If you include the WoW break) years until this past September when Gorgon came back to the world of Ultima.
That being said, I first heard about =L= when I was a Captain in Orc...I think... all we knew was that you guys were enemies at the time. Initially I had a bad idea about you guys because your gear was, let's face it, genitalia-slappingly spectacular.
I had also heard that YOU WERE A HACKER, SIR. Such thoughts have since been dispelled.
But the major thing that stuck in my craw would have to be back in the 2nd Yew War around 3(4?) years ago when you teleported in behind us. The whole situation started when one of the Guild Leaders I sent the operation orders to accidentally sent them to you. I, after hearing of your bad reputation, assumed that you would meta-game your way to abuse the plans! You said you wouldn't and all was well. I believed that if we were attacked from behind(Which would not be by you since you had seen our plans and would roll with a forward strike so as not to give me the idea of abusing our war plans), the attacking party would arrive by boat and not a pre-marked rune. This was a major breakdown in communication by all parties, in my opinion... ground rules should have been laid down more firmly. BUT ANYWAYS, after that I assumed that you abused our plans purposefully and disliked you for a time afterward until I interacted with and rolled about with you a bit more ^^
A major part of this that was present with many guilds was the inability to effectively compete in PVP as we had done in the past(See Yew War, War of the Axe, and our nightly raids in Stormhaven... <3). Most Orc players are/were poor and more roleplay-oriented.
Something that bothered me, and still bothers me today is the fact that it's impossible to compete in GM Iron armor. The sheer difference in PVP just astounds me.
I don't know if I'm rambling or not, because it's around 4 AM and I have a caffeine high from all the Tea I drank while I was DJing, haha, but the main summary is this.
1. I disliked Legion because of your superior gear and tactics. (Bahg, I remember when we'd try and throw bolas at you and you'd just dismount and remount with an unattackable pet when we messed around with the AoF!)
2. Because of certain rumors about you that bounced about inside the clan(started in and out of the clan, I'm sure)
3. Because of Yew War 2's execution in that 3rd battle... It's alright though, Orcs still own Yew, After all... <3 Ahem.
In recent years, though, Gorgon's OOC mind has become much more Neutral and rational(Just like the Orc Clan, Yayyyy!!!). I feel bad for my first inclinations those years ago, and I'd like to apologize if I ever treated you hurtfully or whatnot.
That being said, I consider you a friend and an excellent roleplayer who has spontanaiety like that of a fellow Neg'Latuk Orc: Random, Funny, and Ice-breaking!
Off of Vaen and on to =L=... well, I never really had much interaction with any other member except Kali, whom can rock my hawt orcish body any day. Other than that it's been random killings or insults about how I smell... *Sniffle*
At the disbandment of Legion, though I am saddened that MTC will overtake you as the best PVPers in the Atlantic RP community.. cause damn Gorgon hates him some Glowpugs...!! |

I've always loved my interactions with the Legion. I have never had an ill word to send your way, save in frustration at your combat prowess. Every last one of you was a fabulous role player, and fighter. It is unfortunate that so many people try to detatch the two. It seems to be that very few guilds understand the tremendous amount of rp contained within combat. Merc guilds, and you are among them. You ran one hell of a guild Vaen, and I look forward to any future interactions between us when it comes time for NWN 2. |

Kali.. no worries.. Cyber is RP, too.
http://com1.runboard.com/batlanticcoffeeshop.f6.t14
BUT anyway.. GORGON!! *shakes fist, blushing*
I really really want to see the look on the PKs at fel yew gate when 40 million RPers pop out and start zerging... HAhAhaha
I had a lot of fun doing the red player hunting in LoJ. It builds justice in the virtue gump. Plus it made sense RPly. |

Gorgon is <3. Don't worry about the hacking thing. A lot of people did, and probably do, still think I hack. Wait until I get my new computer. I'll probably move even faster.
And thanks Toren, I'll definitely be seeing you in NWN2. _________________

Vaen was Vaenorc at one point. I was responsible for burning down Stormhaven the last time 'round.
Mwahaha...
