[Merci d'Rue]

Merci walked stiffly her movements slightly unnatural. She had not the gentle sway of hip as most ladies had but an awkward jaunty gate. It almost seemed at times as if her body had been torn apart and re-sewn together each limb not quite in its proper place. Light blue cloth clung to her frame its soft material warm and inviting. Her blue hair sparkled like the blue waters of Maginica. Her face was pale, as a lady’s face should be. Ice Blue eyes her most striking feature, sparkled like gems, and held a stern coldness in their azure gaze.

She set her foot upon the cold stone ground and stared up at the massive Fiend. The Daemon of Ice let out an angry howl and rushed forward at her and she marveled at its glistening frame. Light danced merrily off the fiend’s monstrous size. She pulled out her holy sword and with a sudden graceful and practiced move she slammed it up to the hilt into the Ice Fiends chest and it slumped against her sword before falling to the ground.

There it saw itself mirrored in her eyes, and there it saw another staring back. What is this? it said, its words slow, as it struggled to articulate, ice cold blood ran from its wound and Merci reached out her hand dipping it in the flowing blood marveling at the beauty of its color. It grasped her wrist and pulled her close staring into the warrior’s eyes.

I sense more in you but you are no tiefling… Merci stared at him, I am not my brethren I am sorry it has had to be so….. her words spoken with little emotion, echoed thru the cavern of ice.

The Ice Fiend howled and moved no more its body stilled. Her holy sword withdrawn from it she wiped the dark blue blood onto her skirt. She cut a jagged piece of its icy wing and turned leaving the fallen Daemon.
