*posted in town squares throughout the realm*

Followers of Virtue and the Light,

Darkness covers the world. Once great nations have lost their way and unwittingly serve the aims of shadow. The former Virtous lay in bed with necromancers, savages, and power hungry Lords and ladies.

We are all that remains of devout followers of Virtue. We are all that stands against the overwhelming domination of the shadow and destruction of our way of life.

The Regency and its allies are the unwitting puppets of shadow. They starve the citizens of a peaceful island merely because they wish independance. Is this something a government of Virtue would do? Absolutely not. The Regency is a far cry from the noble institution of Virtue that it was founded to be. Great Regents like Dayael Stormcrow and Kronos would roll in their graves to see the current state of Brittania.

The current Regent has no control over her own nobility, letting them strongarm her into any decision, no matter how vile or wrong. Lord Isk is the puppetmaster who pulls the strings of the entire Regency, making them dance to his own agenda.

The Royal Court of Light, which is anything but, has been seduced by darkness as well. Lady Molly sits upon her chair savoring dreams of land while her Regency advisors speak poison in her ear.

Necromancers openly sit in court with these great leaders of "Light." Necromancy is not only tolerated by these people, but encouraged as a legitimate form of magic. I surmise the next step in their political agenda will be an open alliance with the forces of Umbra, which exists now in all but name.

Sanctus and her friends have not forgotten Virtue and Light. Valor is the courage to act on one's beliefs. This we will do, until every last stone of our Kingdom is removed and every last man lies dead in the field.

We are condemned as foreign invaders, when our people fled Brittania to escape the ever growing corruption of the Regency. Now we seek to set Brittania to rights. A government should serve its people. The Regency serves its own nobles.

Now the battle for the future of Brittania draws near. We strike fear into the hearts of the dark ones. They put swords into the hands of farmboys, prostitues, and children to pit against us. They draw in their foreigners from Tokuno and Malas to defend them.

We encourage all followers of Virtue and Light to band with us against the most immense threat of shadow the world has ever known: The Regency and her allies.

People of Brittania, rise up against your oppressors. Take back what is rightfully yours. All nations and people who join the crusade will be granted their independance and freedom once the followers of darkness have been defeated.

While doing his banking in Luna, Porthos came across a parchment posted. While reading it he couldn't help but chuckle to himself at the so-called King of Sanctus proclamation. He looked at two other men eyeing the notice and told them the tale of an egomaniacal ruler and his strong arm tactics that led to this plea for help because the rest of the realm sees him for the fraud he is. As the three men laughed and joked one left only to return with a quill and ink handing it to Porthos. Without a word he took and and knew what needed to be done. Laughing he crossed out the "Sanctus" in the sinature and penned in, "lies and deceit". The three men howled with laughter as they headed off to the nearest ale house.

Quickly reading over the letter posted near the Zento bank, Tenaka Khan scowls... this impudent group claims righteousness he thinks to himself as he shakes his head. He had already heard of their internal power struggles and their less than honorable results. Tearing the bulliten down, he headed to the Dragon's Nest to show it to his Guildmaster and Mistress, Ashigaru and Annawen. As his Hiryu trotted south, he reflectedIsk and Molly have been nothing but honorable and forthright in their dealings with us... where does this powermonger get his information?

Tai Kwan had been in the dojo doing the twelve suns salute and practicing his dragon breathing when Biggs ran in. Biggs had taken three steps onto the tatami mats when Tai Kwan spun to face him.

"No shoes, Biggs-san" Tai says calmly as he walked towards the man.

"Lord Tai I bring you important news. Some fool has desecrated our city and building walls with posters" Biggs says handing Tai a copy of one.

Tai Kwan takes the copy in hand and looks over it for several minutes.

"Tell me, Biggs-san, what does Talon-san have to say" the short man said handing back the scroll.

Biggs slowly read the scroll to Tai. The short man kept his eyes closed, and would hold up his hand to indicate that Biggs repeat that specific section of the scroll.

“We shall go to my office and correct a few untruths on this, neh,” Tai Kwan says adjusting his kamishimo and walking down the hall from the dojo.

Tai kneeled in desai position behind his low desk and Biggs sat cross-legged. He then slowly laid out rice parchment. Then he placed his brushes and ink stone on the desk. With great care he wet the tip of a stick of condensed ink and ground it steadily on the stone.

Then holding back the sleeve of his kamishimo he began writing in kanji:

[flowing kanji script for several rows]

As he finished his writing, Tai scooped a handful of salt from the cellar on his desk and gently sprinkled it over the drying ink.

Then he handed a quill and pushed the ink stone in front of Biggs.

“Please to be writing down in common what I read to you” Tai said to Biggs.

Common translation:

Citizens of the Tokuno Islands, as well as our brothers and sisters upon the other regal isles:

Once again, a despotic tyrant from a land so distant there are no oceans, has felt the need to inform people whose customs he could not possibly begin to understand that only he and his followers seek to bring them protection.

This man, this Talon, has made the mistake of so many from the mainland. He assumes that we of Tokuno at the least read their written language. He calls us savages, and yet the Tokunan written language predates his culture by two millennia. As is the custom of dictators, they assume all understand their rhetoric.

Well, I state for you that the people of Tokuno have had their town desecrated for the last time with posters written in a language that the majority of our people cannot read.

This man has done nothing but insult people he has had little or no interaction with all for his goals of spreading his will upon unsuspecting people.

The time has come now to state our stance. We will not tolerate a foreign kingdom defiling not only our cities, but also those of the other regal isles. This message must be spread through out the Islands.

Sanctus has no place in any of them.

Biggs nodded and took up the quill and began writing the common word translation to the kanji Tai had painted above. When Tai Kwan had finished the translation, Biggs picked up the saltcellar and emptied it over the scroll.

“Biggs-san, sometimes less is more” Tai said shaking the clump of sodden salt off the scroll.

“Aye, Lord Tai. I shall try to remember that” The young warrior said.

“Have copies of this drawn up and posted over the current offending posters, but leave that humorous bit of graffiti at the bottom of the original in sight” Tai Kwan said.

Seeing the poster and Talon's name afixed to the bottom she stopped to read the contents. As she read she frowned. Looking to Will who was with her as she came across the poster, while shopping for a wedding goun she said,
"Such a shame, he has become his worst enemy, a vigilante and fanatical tyrant. I don't know him anymore. A bully of the worst kind. One that believes he is right and the rest of the world is wrong. Next thing I expect to hear is reports of suicide missions. He has lost all touch with reality"she sighs and continues. "I remember the days of Stormhaven and early Sanctus. A man of great intelegence and generosity, a man I was proud to call a friend and brother. It brings a tear to my eyes to see him following this path to his own distruction and the distruction of his guild. It makes no sense. He has taken the Virtues and twisted them to his own ends in an attempt to glorify himself and his kingdom. That is so unvalorous and he dishonors the Virtues with every step." Will nods as she leaves the poster in it's place and prepares her own in response.

Written on the official stationary of the Royal Court of Light, Luna.

To the people of Luna and other governments around the Realm. What has happened in Sanctus can only further the true nature of the King and his fanatical followers. He has lost touch with reality and is taking his people down with him.

Be compassionate with them for they know not what they do. Their vision is blurred with his retoric. Should you meet one be warry for they believe the world is evil. Trust them not.

But know that when they do finally awaken from their nightmare they will flee. When they do, open your homes and your hearts to them for they will need all of us to come to terms with what they have done. Not all are at fault, they followed their leader down his twisted path of reality. If they are true to the Virtues they will see this folly and look for truth outside of this tyrant's grip. Help them seak it and give them protection for reprisals may be in order for them for crossing their former leader.

For those of you in Sanctus who wish asylum the Great Names of this realm will offer you this. Your Safety and Protection will be gaurenteed.

Signed with the seal of the House of the Gauntlet and the Royal Court of Light, Luna.

The people in Jhelom gather around as they look at a posting from Sanctus. William catches wind of this and immediatly rips it down. Willaim begins speaking to the crowd.
Who posted this here? Who posted this illegal crap, from these devils that are not suppose to set foot on Phoenix soil? Nobody responded as a look of fear came in their eyes.

You all read this trash, virtues HAH they are just like Ebon Skull and ZOG except they call themselves lightbringers. This city-state of Sanctus is a institution of evil, this is not what Baron Mordegan wanted when he brought back Sanctus from the grave, NOT Talon or Mallory, it was Baron. We helped insure Sanctus saftey from the skull and this is how they pay us back, THATS NOT VIRTUES THATS EVIL. He called us nobles puppets, we are not puppets we are warriors. I give more respect to Umbra then Sanctus anyday, at least they will tell you they are evil then hide it like these bumbs. They talk about Valor, we are the guardians of Valor and that what our Islands is named after and w will use itCrowd cheers

Sanctus does nothing for their people except insult them and call them prostitutes, THATS NOT VIRTUES. They claim we are afraid of them, since when have we been afraid. When the Dark armies marched in our city you stood tall and defended yourselfs, how dare they dishonor you. Also we are not afraid of cowards, we kill those fools. He tell you and the people of this land that farmers cant fight, well hahahaha he telling a farmer to join him to fight us because we got farmers to fight for us ahahahaha you see the idiots in Sanctus, this is their king.He also talks about prostituts fighting for us when he has a woman of questionable integrety as a mayor of that city. He said he fled Brittania because of the corrupt regency, hmph he left because HIS WIFE kicked him out the kingdom of Stormhaven ahahaha who was wearing the pants in that relationship. The crowd laughs

You har this man he said once he fights us off you will be free. So this means he plans on conquering Brittania. Ladies and Gentlemen this man is the greatest threat to this realm. He needs to be executed. I know you all have been getting ready for the tournment but with events going on I dont think this will happen as soon as we thought. But we can fight this man and his evil kingdom, then comeback to celebrate. I dont want my son living in a world with him in it or people like him. That why we will erase those idiots and rebirth the kingdom of Sanctus. Then we can come back and celebrate with a tournment with the opening of the head of Talon Skyfire on a stick! The Crowd cheers

Stopping by the Royal court of Light to make adjustments to the watch bill and post cleaning errands for the servants, Shihan noticed a letter in the Duchesses office on official letter head and with her seal affixed.

Hmmmm, ok its official and it is not in the safe box he thinks, its ok to read. Wow the Duchess is going to need personal protection now he thinks as he finishes it. I will have to change the royal security bill to add more people.

Not knowing why she was writing such a letter he looked around for any papers that would give him information on the subject. None. He decided to take a quick walk up to the city and talk to a few people to see what he could learn. Entering the common area of Luna he looked at the town square boards and after reading two or three prominent posts he realized what the letter was about. "The King of Sanctus is off his blooming rocker," he thought.

His thoughts came to the events of the night before when he felt uncomfortable the night before when he was touring the country side with a new recruit. In a room full of Lord Talons people he had felt a icy feeling. The good people of the Order of Sanctus had always been very hospitable but that evening they seem distracted and he thought his presence was not wanted. Now he wondered who among those people may not have been comfortable not with him but with a decision their king had made.

I shall have to carefully tour that area more often and see if it is still safe for the citizens of Malas to travel anymore he thinks. Its time for a couple of peaceful drinks down the road I think, where is Will.

As the Queen took her daily ride to Skara Brea from the palace she ventured to the bank. At the bulletin board there was a crowd of people. She dismounted and escorted by the Lady Metdjie she carefully walked up to it and read the poster that everyone was chatting about. Looking at the Lady Metdjie she shook her head.

"All this talk of the virtues and he takes actions that serve no purpose nor honorable intention." she stated to her escort. "These actions are deplorable when there were no true diplomatic attempts made. What a shame and with all the talk of Moonglow, what of Papua that city is linked to Moonglow. Is there any concern for them?" With a sigh she walked back to her mount followed by the Lady Metdjie and got back on her horse as her escort got seated her self they both ventured back to the palace.

"Lady Metdjie, I think the Pharoah needs to hear about this.", she said to her as they traveled up the road.

Wynter walked slowly through the city of Jhelom, her nanny as well as her best friend walked with her," M'lady...I believe I hear Lord William...he sounds abit upset...," Lily said as she pulled the blanket over Henry abit more," I hear him as well..go on home...we will join you soon...," Wynter said as she pushed the hood of her cloak down and moved through the crowd, many of them parting so she may step up beside her husband.

Taking the paper from his hand she read it over and growled softly," how dare he..he speaks ill of those he doesn't know...,"she said to herself as she looked up to her husband as he continued to speak.Placing a hand on his arm gently she looked out among the crowd, her mind wandering with thoughts of these people and how to protect them if war did indeed come.

As he finished she leaned up and whispered into his ear softly," the letter has been sent m'love...I hope to hear a reply very soon...,"she said as she moved even closer to him as the crowd continued to cheer.

Illadar strode through the city of Cove as he has been doing since his awakening. Passing by the bank, he noticed a rather large parchment attached to the wall of the bank. Illadar began reading, and couldn't help but chuckling. He began to grind his skeletal jaws together slightly.

So...Sanctus believes everyone is now evil. This should be a rather...enjoyable war. He will create many enemies with this and it wont be hard to destroy Sanctus at all. He thought.

Illadar gave a slight cackle as energies seeped from his eye sockets. He turned around to look around the city.

Looking around the city, Illadar thought about his past events.

Yes....with something like this, it will not be hard to finish what I started so many years ago. Illadar tilted his neck to either side, bones cracking and popping as he thought. Cove. Left all alone. Citizens strolling around, some old enough to remember. The rest not old enough to remember or to have been told of that part of their history.

Illadar cackled loudly as he began to use a runebook to travel back to Umbra

Lord Ashigaru softly walked the path into Zento, deep in thought he contemplated upon his recent journey from Luna. He walked beside his Hiryu Phobos, leading him by the harness down the streets. Phobos gave a small hiss as he passed small groups talking, the sudden change in his mount's posture awoke Lord Ashi from his silent pondering. Immediately his senses peaked, he noticed that the peaceful town seemed to be buzzing with energy. He sensed some fear and some confusion from the locals. He laid his hand upon Phobos's neck to ease him, "easy boy..." he whispered.

As he passed the Blacksmith's Shop he noticed something posted upon the wall. His head cocked to the side in curiosity as he stopped then slowly approached the parchment. He pulled off his helm and squinted at the oddly flowing script which he instanly identified as the language spoken in Luna. Without the aid of his Wife Annawen, he struggled to read the backwards language in broken translations.

All the way home he tried to piece together the meaning of the message. As he stepped through the door he heard voices in the tea room. He entered the lavish room and saw his wife and Tenaka looking at a copy of the message posted in town. "Lord Ashigaru...this message...", Tenaka spoke indicating toward the parchment. "What is the meaning of this?" Ashi questioned as he sat at the table. The Lady Annawen looked up at Ashi and looked into his eyes, "It is Sanctus, they are organizing a crusade against the Regency...and thier allies." Annawen then looked down at the parchment as if to avoid his eyes. All was silent in the room until a grunt of amusement came from the doorway. Lord Royce leaned against the wall with his arms folded inside the sleeves of his kimono, smoke trailed from a thin pipe gripped in his teeth, "Smells like a War..." he smirked. Lord Ashigaru sipped at his tea then placed the cup on the table, he turned to look out the window toward the setting sun. "So it has begun...", he whispered, the darkness began to grow as the setting sun disappeared behind the treeline.

The communication orb in Valena's chambers glowed brightly as a new connection was created.
"What is it?" the Matron seemed slightly annoyed by the disturbance.
"My Lady, I have news from Moonglow." came the reply from Gareth. "There are several posters placed in many cities, obviously the tension between the Regency, their allies and Sanctus is rising to the point that they publicly denounce the other side to be evil and lying."
Valena smiled at the development: "Excellent, this will truly be a war to remember. Stand down and watch, let the iblith kill each other."
"As you wish." answered Gareth and the orb grew dark.

As Archon Skurj entered the bank in Papua, the minter approached him warily. Sweat had already beaded on the man's forehead... he had obviously been considering how the Archon might take his words. Skurj stopped, folded his arms in front of him and waited, wordlessly... enjoying the man's palpable discomfort. Tilting his head slightly to one side, he sighed. "What is it now?" The man mumbled incoherently, failing even to utter the simple sentence he had practiced all morning. All he could do was point with shaking hand and quivering index finger to a place on the rattan wall of the bank where a parchment had been pinned. "Get back to your business," Skurj barked. The man hastily complied as the Archon went to the poster, unpinned it and read it silently to himself.

Beneath his mempo he smiled to himself, then pinned it back on the wall. He walked over to the minter who was busy counting a stack of coins. "Who posted that there?"

Stuttering, the minter replied, "It was moved in here from the hanging tree by Ortan Brashook, a dock worker. He told me he could not read it but it probably needed to be here rather than there."

"Did you give him permission to post it here?"

"No milord. I did not know what it said til just a short while ago and I didn't know what to make of it... it *is* written by a king... sire. If I erred, please forgive." His eyes pleaded mercy.

Skurj nodded, placing a hand on the man's shoulder. "You have not erred old friend. Relax and go back to work."

Noticeably relieved, the old minter obeyed.

The Archon left the bank and went to pay a visit to Ivan, the Gaoler.
______________

Constable Scar looked over the corpse just dragged out of the water of the bay. It was a dock worker, apparently drowned... that much was clear. What was not clear was why water, expelled from the victim's lungs on hauling him in, contained large pieces of crumpled parchment, the signature of the king of Sanctus being clearly visible on one of them.

Alizia was walking through Yew. She was gathering supplies for the healers, when a small crowd was gathered about one of the buildings. She was curious as to what was all the fuss. Pardoning herself as she made her way through the crowd, she began to read the poster. Her eyes widen as she read on. The words of the other gatherers were heard slightly in the background. Some declaring him paranoid and perhaps abit mental. Others agreeing with some of the claims. What has happened to the man she knew? First his fear of those in hooded robes and now this? She had to talk to Eldred. She quickly made her way back through the crowd and headed to the healers. She needed to drop off the supplies and once that was finished, she recalled herself back to their house. Eldred had taken Charles out to go hunting. There she awaited for their return so she could speak to him on this matter. After speaking with Eldred, she would go see Isk and Angelique.

*a tall shrouded man passes by one of these notices on his way through his native Moonglow, upon seeing this notice and reading it his mind is set a racing*

An indepentant Moonglow... but set free by mainlanders... *he spits in anger* But, there are still possibilities. But then again, these people only have in mind their own religious fanaticism... such a shame really...

*as he moves quickly between the buildings he passes a wealthy household sharing a large meal*

Starving indeed...
