The Kingdom of Sanctus will not tolerate the atrocities recently committed against the helpless people of Skara Brae by The Phoenix. Due to these actions, The Kingdom of Sanctus demands The Phoenix pay retribution to the People of Skara Brae in the amount of 2 million gold pieces. The cost this brutal attack has taken upon the economic, military, and emotional security of the City will fall upon The Phoenix, not the fair people of Skara Brae.

If this retribution is not paid in full within a week from today, economic sanctions and Naval blockades will begin against The Phoenix and all of their holdings.

This is decreed under the authority of Zarlox, Crown Prince of Sanctus

Isk sat at his desk looking over the curious flier from Sanctus.

“I guess everyone wants a piece of him now. First Otori, myself and now... Sanctus.” the Magnate grinned as he took a drink of dark Papuan tea. His eyes trailed to the bottom of the flier.
“What? How...” Lifting the paper from his desk he held it at just inches from the eye holes of his mask. Reading it twice over did not nullify the Magnate’s confusion.

“How could a power based solely in Luna have a port anywhere in Trammel to house the necessary ships for a naval blockade? How could they even have a navy since the waters of Malas are nothing more than a void.” Sinking into his chair Isk wound up his mind to get around the chaos forming in his skull. He stared blankly at the paper as coherent thoughts began to gather.

“They are bluffing” He finally concluded. “They have no real allies in Trammel and no way to move any form of a fleet from Luna. But...” the Magnate hesitated as a backup thought formed. “But if they somehow manage to blockade or sanction lands in Trammel I will make it hurt them. How dare they supersede the Regent’s authority. This is not their land.”

The porcelain masked warrior knew that he would have to bring this issue up at the Regency meeting. He had to build on forming a wedge to exploit. It would need to be a careful move. Tearing two friends apart, Isk knew, took a little time and always began with mistrust.

Lokking at the message as he filters through incoming mail and documents, he notices this decree from Sanctus...

Hmm... They now want action against William?

Walter gets out his notepad and scribbles a letter to Zarlox.

Dear Friend Crown Prince Zarlox,
I am just now reading these decree sent out against William of the Lion Knights. Why is it you are so concerned with Skara Brae now? Not more then a month ago you sent Lord Spawn to the Royal Court of Luna meeting saying Skara Brae is no concern to the people of Sanctus. And said he would not include Sanctus in any acts against William or his alliance occupying Skara Brae.

William was walking from the bank in Jhelom to his office north of the dueling pits. Citizens of Jhelom along with mercenaries told William that the Kingdom of Sanctus will hold a navy blockade and economic sanctions if the Phoenix doesn't pay 2 million in gold. William laughed at the crowned prince for even talking about action. William said "first they dont recognize me now they give me humor. Zarlox is a joke, letting the the skulls control Sanctus by not doing a thing but sit there and take orders from Bailos hahahahaha. Zarlox doesn't have the guts to do anything and what navy is this boy talking about, they have waters in Malas hahaha this kid is crazy and needs help. Talon would go this far and name him a prince hahaha more like a princess because he never had any balls to do anything. Who would I pay this gold to Sanctus, I bet they would be getting something out of this. I want everyone to know I will not be paying two million to Skara so Zarlox can get his imaginary navy and his economic sanctions even though Sanctus doesnt have any trade with us anyway. Oh and tell Zarlox remember who protected Sanctus when they were weak."

William walked in his office and still laughed about Zarlox's manhood

The messenger hurriedly entered the Palace and kneeeling before her, handed the Queen a piece of parchment. With a wave of her hand she dismissed him to have the servants take care of paying him for his trouble. At her desk she gently opened it with her cobra headed dagger...

With a stern expression on her face after reading what the Crown Prince was asking, she immediately took up some papyrus and her peacock feathered quill and began to write...

Dear Lord Zarlox, Crown Prince of Sanctus,

I have received word of your intentions with the noble people of Skara Brea. In light of our treaty with your fine city, I offer our assistance if need be. The Pharoah and myself have ships at our disposal if needed to send to the ports of Skara.
Accept this as an invitation for an audience with myself or the Pharoah if you wish to discuss this matter further. I will send my sister the Lady Ishtar as my emissary to our Royal Embassy in Sanctus to await your answer.

She rolled the Papyrus into a golden tube and called her servant forward.
He bowed to her gracefully as he took the tube from her and her intructions. "Make haste in delivering this to the Lord Zarlox in Sanctus."

She then called her sister into the room. "Lady Ishtar, I need you to travel to Sanctus and await the Prince's response to the message I have just sent. The servants at the Royal Embassy will be there to aid you."

Bowing to her sister, the Lady Ishtar left the Queen's chambers and made herself ready for her journey.

Lord Zarlox came to Alessandra's office and knocked on the door. She looked up as he entered and quickly lowered her head in respect. He sat down and leaned forward, his elbows on his knees. Then he began speaking in a low and hushed tone. "Alessandra... do you remember when you spoke of the possible alliance with those in Vesper? I believe the time has come for us to strike up that alliance. Will you please write a letter and contact their leader so that we might meet?"

Alessandra nodded slightly with a slight smile upon her lips. As Zarlox stood to leave she again inclined her head and said "As it is asked, so shall it be done m'lord." With a nod he left her in her office and she at once pulled a piece of parchment from a pile and began writing...

I hope that this letter finds you and those that surround you well. I have regretted not contacting you sooner, please forgive me. My duties here within Sanctus have become... they have me fairly busy. Due to some recent events, I come to you as a friend to ask for your audience and for you to consider again the alliance with Sanctus. I will be able to speak more on this, if and when you are able to meet in person. I look forward to seeing you again.

Alessandra sealed the letter with the official seal of Sanctus and called a messenger in. She handed him the letter and a small bag of gold coins. "Take this message to Lord Van Pelt of Vesper. You will find him within the town of Riverrun. Please remain for his response. Your swiftness and your secrecy will be highly rewarded upon your return." With a nod the messenger hurried to the stables and turned and headed to the stables and quickly made haste towards Riverrun. Looking out her window after him, Alessandra said a soft prayer to the winds and awaited a response...
