Cat woke up from her nap, very well rested. She took a dip in the pool and after drying herself off and getting dressed, she sighed. She had been hunting and sewing so much lately she hadn’t had very much time to just have fun and be with her friends. She gathered some things she needed to put in her bank box and left the house. As she walked to the bank she saw notices posted and stopped to read a few, hoping to find something exciting on them. One post caught her eye. It said Ladies Night Out and mentioned a tavern. She grinned and thought it sounded like just the thing to make the night a fun one.

When Cat walked into the tavern she was surprised to see so many ladies. She had no idea this many people could fit inside one tavern. She giggled as she made her way through the crowd to the bar. She sat down on a vacant stool, lucky to get it. She looked around for the barkeep and she noticed Heather sitting on the stool down from her.

Cat ordered some wine and made her way down to where Heather was sitting.

They began to talk and the words flowed between them for it seemed like hours. They talked until they both felt enlightened and relieved. They had more in common then they would have believed. They toasted all through the night to freedom and happiness.

When the tavern grew quiet Heather started to hum a tune and Cat told her she recognized the song. Cat started to sing the lyrics and Heather joined in,

Is there a reason
For things that you say?
The way you're treating me
All the games I won't play
Well it's too late, no longer one
Don't want you, the damage is done

Will you miss me
When I leave you behind?
Will you tell your friends
I treated you unkind?
Well it's over now, and I'm on the run
I don't want you, the damage is done

There have been rumors
That my sense of humor is lacking in some ways
To me that's no reason, it's tantamount to treason
See what the judge has to say
You need to find someone half as blind
As I am to your games
And maybe you'll find out what it's all about
And it can drive you insane

Ooh the damage is done
And now I feel it's too late
The damage is done
It's over
Now I'm on the run
And you and I know
The damage is done

Heather rose from her bed as the sun came up. Her new home was slowly coming into shape. She stretched to loosen her stiff muscles from all the moving she had been doing.
Going to her doorway she spotted a small basket with a note from her kindly new neighbor., an elderly woman that befriended her . The note was more a notice of some tavern ladies night. Across the top the lady has scrawled..
" Looks like fun.. you need a break"
Heather laughed and started unpacking. All day she thought on it and finnaly agreed it was just what she needed.
She was lucky to find a seat at the bar. After a short time she felt a nudge and looked over to see Cat. This was a pleasant suprise.
Several hours later they had laughed, cried, joked and compared their lives. As they quietly contemplated ,she began to hum a tune.
Soon Cat was singing the words. Heather joined her in the song

Is there a reason
For things that you say?
The way you're treating me
All the games I won't play
Well it's too late, no longer one

As Heather sang the last lines of the song with Cat, she raised her glass of wine to her in toast.
With the sound of the goblets meeting, they forged a new friendship.
Neither of them needed to speak to know the thoughts of the other.
Both would survived and both knew they would move on into the future with lighter hearts and new friendships.

Out of breath, Ditto slowed down her pace. Geeshness, those pixies could fly fast! She was about to take off running after them again when a slight sound caught her attention. Turning her head, she found that the sound was a humming coming from a nearby tavern.

Smiling, but not wanting to interfere with the patrons inside, Ditto thought how the tune reminded her of someone she maybe once met long ago but couldn't quite put her finger on it.

"Ah well", she said to herself, "it's not important, or I would remember them".

Shrugging, she continued after the pixies, unknowingly missing out on Ladies Night with the girls.

"There you are Cat, I have looked all over the place for you. You have not gotten any better with directions", Scribble sighs.

" It is nearly closing time now, all the men are gone. What is an old lady like me to do now?" asked Scribble.

Cat whispers, "It is Ladies night"

"Oh! a Ladies night. I remember when we used to have those but we always had men too when I was Tavern Boss. That was loads of fun until my job was given away. Teach me to lay out drunk a few days. Nice tune by the way. It reminds me of someone I used to know", Scribble says as draining her bottle and looking for a waitress.
