Dear Kira,
This eve Sanctus attacked the Order, and injured an innocent civillian. They claim us returning Zalar to the realm justifies their actions, however I believe they are just using it as an excuse to attack us. They have refused to discuss concernes we have regarding the return of Talon, who is notorious for warmongoring. As well, their paladins have come onto our land and have made various threats to us, in an attempt to control us. We will not be stepped on by Sanctus, and it is clear that peace is not something they want.
I only hope that you will choose to join us. You are far more enlightened than many of those in Sanctus. You have expressed your dismay in your peers and how they regard the arcane as nothing more than a tool. I understand it is a choice you will have to make for yourself, and I respect that. I have told my followers to avoid harming you, however as long as you are in Sanctus you might get caught in the crossfire. Do realize I cannot teach you anymore. If you did join us, I would take you in as a student of mine, to develope your natural talent. I do not want to see your capability go to waste, and despite your efforts to try and encourage learning in Sanctus I doubt the barbarians will actually take to it. I have observed them for some time, the vast majority of them would rather fight each other than spend the time bettering their minds. It saddens me to think of the effort of an intellectual wasted by the disinterest of the barbarian masses.
Kira, deep down you know what I say is true. I have stood along side you and watched them. I am Jothan, and I still want to teach you. If you wish to speak with me personally, you are welcome to do so.
Sincerely,
Norture |

Lord Norture,
Your letter came as quite a shocking revelation to me. I had no idea that you are Jothan.
While I appreciate the time that you have taken with me, and for the priviledge of using your library, I must decline your offer of further teaching. Though I regret the actions of this past week on both sides, my loyalties lie with Sanctus and that is where I shall remain.
I do appreciate the friendship and kindness that you have shown to me. I have learned many things from you and I hope that one day, there will be peace between our people.
Sincerely,
Kira, Xalic of the Order of Sanctus |
