The darkness slowly began to envelop the young night, the shadows growing thicker with the growing minute. From the darkness of the cave, emerged the young man. He sniffed the cool night's air, he could sense the young blood that occupied the area most called Hanse's Hostel. It seemed as though most seeked refuge here, from the cold and unforgiving night, or those that stalked it.
On occasion, however, he would find the newcomers to the area walking the dirt paved roads alone at night. These foolish few were quickly shown a lesson of the night, and who it belongs to. Such was the case this fine evening.
Some lamposts still lit the roads as Nathan walked casually, staff in hand. With a certain arrogance, his blue eyes glowed brightly, nearly lighting the way for him. The wind was strong on this night, blowing his raven colored hair to the side.
For the young lad pacing down the road, this night would be unforgiving. As he walked slowly down the unfamilar road, he watched the trees swaying in the darkness. It was not easy to see, in fact, it only looked like movement. He laughed as he thought of how the easy it would be to think of these trees as a figure. It was no longer a funny concept to him.
Nathan toyed with him, manipulating the shadows and darkness alike, as he ran around him. The young and unsuspecting new resident to the area paniced, and ran faster. Nathan quickly halted him with a swift blow to the head from his ebon staff.

Nathan dropped the body of the man in the cave once more, as he had done to several more before this.
He whispered softly, "The night is unforgiving in these areas, foolish ones,". _________________ "Fall on us and hide us from the face of him who is seated on the throne."
