Teflon awakened from his slumber to a knocking on his door. Throwing on a robe he headed for the door and opened it rubbing the sun out of his eyes, to see his old friend standing there. He hadn’t seen him in ages.
"Greetings Karma" he offers his hand in friendship, which his friend takes shaking warmly. "What have you been up too for so long?"
"Greetings Teflon, it has been a long time since I spoke to you. I’ve been rather busy exploring the realm these last few years,” his old friend says.
"So my friend what brings you here after so long?" said Teflon.
Karma said, looking very seriously at him, "Teflon last night when I came home there was an elf there who wishes to see you, and if what little he’s told me is true you need to meet with him."
"Why, what’s wrong Karma?"
"He says he knows how you came here Tef, if you still want to know?"
Teflon looked at him in surprise as he slowly nodded to his friend. Teflon quickly went to his chambers to get dressed, putting on his armor and his pouch of reagents, tying it to his belt, and put on his boots. He then returned to his friend and opened a portal to his friend’s place. They both went through it, arriving in mere seconds.
Proceeding into his friend’s home he found a blue robed elf sitting at his friend’s kitchen table. The elf looked up seeing the both of them enter and smiled under his hood.
"So he brought you good" the elf said. “I’ve been looking for you for a long time William."
"How do you know my name sir elf" Tef said to the stranger.
"So from what your friend Karma here tells me, you don’t remember you’re passed. It explains much of why it’s been so hard to find you." He looks Teflon over with some disdain. "And with the way you look now.” He motions to Teflon’s appearance.
“I should introduce myself", the stranger slowly stood and removed his elven blue robe.
Teflon saw he was an elf indeed with long blonde hair. The elf extended his hand.
"My name is Marc Kaldhel, your twin brother. I've been searching you for years trying to find you. The magics that were used that brought you here made it most difficult to locate you up until a few months ago. And now I see why."
Teflon looked at the elf in total shock. "You’re my brother? That’s impossible. I look nothing like you."
"Its true William we are twin brothers." said the elf with conviction.
~~~~~~~
It had been nearly a week since his brother had shown up to tell him of his heritage and the life he left behind. His brother had told him of his family and his father’s name. He told him how his father and his mother had fallen in love and married secretly. Her being a human was against the laws of the land. They went into hiding. She got pregnant and was having trouble with the birth. They returned to the city for help. When it was discovered that they were half elven their parents had to protect them both from being discovered. They separated the boys for their own safety until the governing powers were more accepting of mixed marriages.
His brother had stayed with his uncle and aunt in the mountains and he had stayed with a magician friend of the family’s. When it was discovered that Teflon was staying there the magician cast a great spell that was interrupted by the local authorities mid-cast. That was how he ended up in Sosaria.
~~~~~~~
Thinking back to the time when he first remembered anything his mind drifted to the day of his awakening here.
Holding his head he looked up, staring into the face of a spotted cow. It’s big tongue hung from its mouth like a huge water skin. Never seeing such a sight from this angle he scooted away only to fall backwards down a hill, right into the legs of a wandering healer. She looked down at him and helped him to his feet. She asked if he was all right. He looked himself over and nodded but was most confused. She asked him his name and he just stared at her.
“Name?” He replied “…umm…Wi…umm…William, I think…I can’t remember…”
“Well Sir William,” said the healer, “We will get you something for that egg of a bruise on your forehead and fix up that gash on your arm. Come with me.” She escorted him to the Moonglow healers where he began his years in Sosaria.
~~~~~~~
Years had past since that day and he smiled at the humor of the moment.
He decided in that very moment to talk to Molly and ask for her to help him explore his heritage. He nodded to himself as he smiled at the bright future before him. A new life, a newfound knowledge of his past and the love of his life at his side, what a wonderful life it will be he thought to himself. He prepared for his journey to Moonglow and to find the elven teacher there. He then sent Molly a pigeon to meet him there. _________________ Hate binds a warrior,
She sat by the window waiting for Tef to arrive. She had expected him several hours before. As things happen she was not surpised that he didn't returned yet. He had been busy with moving some of his things to the House Gauntlet hall. She had asked him to join the House Gauntlet and he agreed, saying there was nothing left for him in the Guardians of Vesper. He wanted a new start and a new life. Their love was blooming and it was time to break ties with his past.
She spotted a small bird circling the house and it settled on the windowsill. She smiled when she saw it was his pigeon and carefully picked up the bird, removing the small vial from his leg. She set it near a basket of seeds she kept near the window.
Opening the gold vial and removing the note, then unrolled it. She read the note and prepared for a journey to Moonglow. His note was sketchy so she took enough supplies for a day or so figuring she could pick up more there should it be a longer journey.
Upon arriving she saw Lord Billy already in deep conversation with the elven teacher. He excused himself and turned to her.
We have much to talk about but we need to get going. I will tell you on our journey.
She nodded and they began their travels. He told her of the visit and what happened. She smiled broadly.
I knew there was something different about you. she said softly and leaned over kissing him gently.
He said, When this is done I am going to take my father's name. He smiled broadly as she looked on proudly as he offered his aid to the centaur.
They spent many hours following the quest for knowledge, the same one she herself followed years before. _________________ Grand Duchess Molly Kaldhel
