Entry 1
Since having joined the Ebon Skull I have realized that there is no turning back. My soul has been marked by Oblivion and I shall never again look upon the world through ignorant eyes. I have been allowed into the sacred order as a slave until I can prove myself worthy to learn the ways of Necromancy. To do so, a series of tasks had been set before me.
The first of these tasks, refered to as "the Thorn in the foot" required that I mix poison and alcohol together in a glass bottle. I then had to break the bottle, concealing the glass shards so that a passerby would not detect them. To do this, I first sought out an alchemist in the city of Umbra. The alchemist Nadya supplied me with the poison and bottle needed for a small fee. Next I made my way through the streets of Umbra to the tavern. Theobald, the tavernkeeper provided me with the alcohol needed and I set off for the city of Moonglow to set my trap.
It was early morning when I at last reached my destination. The sun had not yet molested the perfect darkness of the path that cut through the forest just outside of the city of Moonglow, and now was the time to prepare. Within an hour the path would be teeming with merchants entering the city to exchange goods. I pulled the bottle from beneath my robe and cast it down among a patch of grass that had overtaken a part of the path, shattering it instantly. Once I was sure that the glass was concealed well enough I positioned myself behind a tree and cast invisiblity upon myself. It was not long before the first of my victims came into sight. This was an elderly man who carried a large bundle of sticks upon his back. He was much earlier then I had anticipated, but it mattered not for the trap was set. They say the early bird gets the worm, all it got this one was the poisoned shard of glass that penetrated his pathetic ragged boot. The man cried out in pain instantly as he fell to the ground scattering his sticks all about him. I watched as he began to spasm, and contort, admiring my handy work. After some time all motion stopped and only a corpse remained. I quickly made my way out to the path, carefull that I was not seen and drug the body into the bushes. Later I could use this corpse to study the anatomy of a body, and besides why ruin a perfectly good chance to snare a second victim?
I wraped the corpse in clothes and cast invisibilty upon it as I tossed it on the back of my packhorse. As the sun started to rise I made my way back to Umbra confident that my masters would be pleased. |

Entry two
Much has happened since last I confided to this tome. I have been granted access to the librarys of the order and have devoted my spare time to learning these ancient texts. More and more I am begining to feel the taint upon my soul, and the visions in my dreams.
Upon completion of my first task another was placed before me. This time I was given a drug that was to be distributed among the peoples of Brittania. This drug would leave whomever consumed it to be left in ruin. They would become completly addicted and left to their coil.
To accomplish this task I first set out for the city of Haven. I sought this city because I know first hand that many a new and inexpieienced mage gather there to learn their craft. Each of these pupils are hungry and eager to rise above thier ranks and show their quality. What better a place to sell a drug that offers a high and the promise of accelerated awareness and focus?(As it was that's what I intendid to tell them). Upon arrival to the city however i found it bare of any such aspiring mages. I spent many an hour walking the streets, ducking in and out of alleys searching for a customer, but to no avail. The thought then occured to me that perhap Sanctus, was the place to pass off this wretched drug. Surley will all that sort of folk that gathered there suitable customers could be found.
I entered the bar and took a seat at the head of the bar in the back of the tavern in an area devoid of light so as not to be noticed, and studied those present. Though there appeared to be more then a few suitable to offer to, there were also many a Sanctus gaurd there as well as the owner of the tavern himself, Hanse. If a sell was to be made here it would not be this night. Frustrated and eager to complete my task I turned to the overpopulated city of Britain. On any given day thousands gather at the bank their to do buisness ,surley I could offer this drug there with little notice from the authoritys.
And so I went to the city of Britain. It was just as I had hoped. The city was pregnant with activity and ripe for the picking. I took up a spot behind the bank and waited for the right opportunity. It was not long before three young lads crossed my path walking through the dark alley. I called out to them "Hey you, over there, come closer I have something that might hold much intrest for youths such as you". They all looked at each other and dismounted approaching me cautiously. The one that walked ahead of the other two advanced, hand readied upon his blade and intoduced himself as Slygo. I simply nodded as I watched his hand caress the handle of his blade. "What buisness have you with us? We have not the time to deal with beggers cloaked in rags upon these streets" he began. I took a step closer and whispered to him. " I offer unto thee a powder unlike any you have ever seen before. To partake of it is to partake in the strength of the gods. No mortal can match you when under it's affects." I whispered loud enough that the other two would surely hear, and from the looks on their faces, they clearly had. "And what price do you ask for this "wonder tonic of yours?" he asked with an accusing glare. I looked the three men over and said quietly, I could give the lott of you 5 doses for 2, 500 gold peices." Bah. you are a fool," the man proclaimed." that price is outragous for an umproven drug." "Perhaps your pocket is not so deep as i had thought then" I said loud enough so that the other two could hear. Feeling embarassed the man quickly reached for his purse grabbing for his gold and replied " I shall buy this drug of yours, but should I find it to be a hoax I shall find you. However ,if this drug can do as you say it can then I shall require more." He handed over the gold as I handed him a pouch containing the drugs. He quickly turned away as his friends greedily grabbed for their share and I sliped away. The three of them would surley not be able to keep the drug a secret and would pass it on to others. I can only hope this was what my masters had wanted, and that I have served them well this day. |

Entry 3.
The Shroud of Turin now coats my soul. Much blood have I spilled in the name of my masters, and of Oblivion. I continue my studies of the ancient texts, as well as my duties and tasks. I still walk a slave before the waking eyes of the earth and am called upon to serve my masters. I recently traveled to The City of the Dead for Lord Barl, so that I might gather vital information. I shall not now within this journal reveal what was found there.
Having completed both my second task and other tasks I was at last given my third task. Worm In the Root is a task in which I was to travel deep within the Solen caves and poison the water supply that runs deep underground and supplys water throughout Sosaria.
After having searched through many old maps I came upon a perfect location to enter the caves. Just outside of the city Trinsic I found the entrance. The Solen caves are host to a race of giant insect like creatures
that swarm upon any who trespass upon thier domain. I made one last check of my reagents and stepped through the entrance. Their was a foul stench upon the hot humid air as I stepped deeper into the cave. My plan was to try to get to the underground canal undetected, though it was not long before I realized ..this was not to happen. Two of the creatures spotted me as I tried to slink past them, and quickly started towards me. I reached back within the depths of my mind and pulled out the spell to conjure flame, spoke the words needed and reduced them to ash before they could reach me. The shriel crys of their deaths attracted others off in the distance and I knew I had little time. I reached within my pack and began spreading the necessary reagents about me necessary for my next spell. I could see them in the distance headed for me when I spoke the words necessary to unleash my spell. The fabric of the air ripped open and a daemon came forth. He growled his defiance to having been summoned but felt the power of my magic that bound him. He turned towards the Solen creatures and began his attack. I and my summoned daemon continued through the caves dispatching any who would mean to thwart my plot. At last I reached a small creek that flowed through the rocks of the cave. I noticed some sort of crude device next to the creek, obviously man made but paid little attention as I focused on the task at hand. I quickly dispatched the poison into the creek as the daemon ripped through the insects with a fury not of this realm. My task completed I released my minion and made my way through the tattered corpses that littered the cave floor, back to where I entered the cave. The city of Trinisc would no doubt be the first to feel the effects of my work , and would soon send men out to investigate. |

Entry Four
At last I have completed all tasks placed before me by my lords. Now I have only to pass a challenge and I shall become a full member of the order. I can only hope that I am up to the task. I shall continue this journal through my apprenticship, should I pass the challenge and be allowed into the sacred order, but for now I must concentrate fully on my studies.... |
