Rryn sat contemplating quietly as her husband began donning his armor. The pensive look in her face must have alerted him that something was bothering her.
"Sakura-chan, you seem deep in your thoughts. Does something worry you?" he asked." Do you feel unwell? Here, let me call Cook and have soothing tea sent...
"Iie my ryu. I merely think on our journey ahead. Much planning has yet to be completed with the children and staff."she replied." The journey ahead will not be an easy one for you. In my present condition, I will not be able to assist you in many things.
"You cannot go around fighting my uncles if that is what you mean." Tai grinned, looking at her. "Though it would permanently ruin their honor to be defeated by you thus. I am sure they will already be displeased to learn there are more heirs to soon join us" They laughed for a moment remembering Tai's surprise that such things could happen at any time.
Soon they were discussing the travel party and what units would be joining them. Tai was in charge of the samurai guards units that would be traveling with them. He had arranged for Hung-san to see to the ninja units that would protect the staff and children as well as herself. Rryn wistfully made comment of the one man that she knew would have been the perfect liaison between all the units. The one that could contain her son's enthusiasm and prepare him until Tai could begin his formal training. She thought of him as a brother, the one that had helped her when she had first come to live in these lands called Malas. When all around thought her nothing more then a minstrel. Times were so simple then. She sighed. He had gone missing, on a spiritual journey of his own. Tai nodded his agreement, hearing her sigh.
" We can try to find him. Send out notices across the lands. Perhaps he will see one, or others will have seen him. Time is short but.. there is still time to try." Tai encourage.
Rryn smiled at the suggestion, an excellent idea. She would do just that. She walked to the open window overlooking the lawn. Tai had finished donning his armor and was preparing to leave for the Citadel. The men grew restless below in the field awaiting this long planned assault.
" I must say I do like this new armor you have commissioned. You look quiet tough and solid in it" she remarked winking at him.
" I cannot have the men seeing me looking soft." he joked back as he carefully hugged her.
" Be safe my Ryu-chan. I will see you on the morrow."
They bade each other farewell and Rryn watched from her window as he mounted his steed below her. A quick yell and the troops went off into the night. Rryn turned and called out to her handmaiden. After giving directions to her, and gold for the scribe, the handmaiden went out quickly to see that the job was done by morning.
By late evening the next eve, scrolls were mounted upon every message board at every Inn and Tavern across the lands. Rryn stopped outside a Brittanian Tavern, a light rain storm having begun as she heading home after spending the day with the local tailor having Tai's kimono made larger to accommodate his new armor. She read the notice she had requested be prepared.
She was pleased with the scribes work. "Now....she thought as she walked away.... if he only replies. |

Far off from the lands of Sosaria, off in the lands of the wild where little to no monsters ever crossed your path. Far off to the lands where folks such as Arlin and Arcana left to, resided the duelist.
Sitting back in his small home, with no weapons to his side but a dagger to throw at the dartboard, Dan sat back in his chair and enjoyed the peace around him. Life had been quite different ever since he had left his stress behind in the Sosarian lands, but only at a price. Surely after he found his peace here in the lands, he regained his youthful expression whom which only had could only keep with having the blood of a half-elf. Having himself rejuventated from his time away, Dan seemed to have a good new outlook on his life and a grin every other minute...
...but only at a price. He had forgotten that which had made him such a character of worth back in his days. He had forgotten the arts of fencing, of healing others, and had even lost his body's muscle and grace through his relaxation. It was just like his first days alone in the realm, all over again. Weak, but had acquired abit more wisdom then he would care to admit.
Looking over the mountainside in his little home, he stopped his game and caught a glimpse of something moving through the woods. It was approaching his home, and knowing full well to always be careful in the wilds, Dan peeled a smile.
---
The man who approached was quite the character indeed, with only as good a history with Dan as did his Empress. He had no time to spare, and was only making a short visit to catch up with his dear half-brother. As he made his steps up the hill, the man slowly walked onto the front porch of an otherwise empty house. Reaching his hand for the handle on the front door, he slowly began to pull...
---
...only to been caught by a dagger just a quarter of an inch from his grasp. It had spun down his shoulder, from the cieling of the porch where Dan had gripped himself upon. Dropping down, his brother merely looked to him with a less-than-amused expression. Clearly unimpressed, as always.
"My my, the almighty priest Baric has come to greet me?"
"Stow it, I just forgot something here and need to get it back for Brodieman. I don't have time to be sittin' around here playing my life away!"
"Brodieman? You misewell be getting it for yourself, you and your identities. Oy!"
Baric smiled and recounted a memory which he did so enjoy.
"If I'm not mistaken, couldn't you never defeat me?"
Dan smirked and walked up to the door to retrieve his dagger.
"Good thing you left, then."
Baric only remembered too well the history of his brother and the Praetorian Guard. As he recalled, Dan had made a mistake in leaving and ended up never having to see them again, for they had left the realm without giving notice to lil Dan. And with good reason too, at least some of them still thought.
"Hmph, I hope they don't still think of me as a traitor, do they?"
Baric remained quiet, and entered the household to retrieve his item, leaving his brother to interpret the action. How could he forget, what he had done, but he knew it had been a mistake, a mistake he would never forget. Leaning his back on the side of the door, Dan folded his arms over his chest with a grimace on his face. "Never look back indeed" .
Baric made his exit of the house with an item in his hand. As he gazed upon the relic in his palm, he looked back to Dan.
"I suppose you'll only have to come with me and find out..."
...and then he pulled out a parchment from his pocket...
"...or you can finish your buisness in Sosaria. Either way, get your ass out of my house."
Handing the parchment to Dan, Baric made his leave back to the lands of Azeroth. As he walked away, Dan read the parchment's contents and gave out a sigh. "Still needed?" he asked, but grinned. Noticing the mark Baric had made upon it, Dan finally had an excuse to come back to Sosaria.
"Misewell go and confess my real clan name". _________________ AKA: Gryss ab'Arawn
