Eisernes stroked his beard, wondering what to do with the chubby red headed flesh peddler recently brought to the magistrates cells. "If it was up to me" he thought, "I'd hang him". Just then a sentry threw open the door and saluted his captain.

"Sir!"
"Yes, what is it?" Eisernes questioned, returning the salute.
"It's, well it's Balios sir. He is in the contry side very near here".
Eisernes didn't hesitate. "Captain Aerie, Dyn, Ariel, come with me. Leave this worm"

The party followed the sentry north to a villa where Balios could be seen standing, staring out into seemingly nothing.

Captain Kruez approached him. The userper didn't blink. "Balios, you are under arrest by order of Spawn, Chief Justice of Sanctus."

Balios sighed. "I suppose you intend to put me in your... jail. Tell me Eisernes, how do you intend to do that?"
"With force if I must".
"And how do you intend to keep me there. How do you intend to keep me, a wraith, inside a cage?" Balios turned and slowly walked over to a small pool in the courtyard of the Villa, dipping his hands into the water.
"I had hoped Baron or Zarlox would have been here to do this" Balios declared.
"You'll have to settle for two captains and a couple of soldiers" Aerie said, matter of factly.

Balios removed his hands from the water and turned to Eisernes, wringing them dry. "I have an idea. You are going to step out of the way, I am going to walk into that prison, and I am going to have a seat and await my trial"

Eisernes was a little shocked by this developement. He wouldn't normally allow a prisoner to dictate his own terms, but this truly was a special case. Pride could not be allowed to get in the way. His soldiers were watching him closely now, wondering how this tense situation was about to unfold.

"Very well Balios. I warn you now though, if you don't do exactly what you have said, I won't be as nice about it the second time."

"Ariel" Eisernes beckoned her over.
"Sir"
"Inform the Major and Lord Spawn that Balios is in custody."

Eisernes stood outside of the jail with Dyn once Balios was securely inside.
"Well, that was much less violent than I had hoped." The captain stated, cracking a grin to put the soldier at ease a little.
"What do we do now sir?"
"We wait."
"Do you think he'll try to escape?"
"No Dyn, he will not. Balios has something up his sleeve. He is much too full of himself and much to melodramatic to simply escape. He wants to play this out to some end, and he wants the world to see it."

During the night, three letters are written and covertly sent off via avian accomplice. One to Isk, one to Thrax and one to Vaen.

Brothers in Arms,

Completely by design, I find myself a guest of the Sanctus legal system. While it is completely within my power to simply barge out any time I should chose, I have a game to play. I would so dearly love you to aid me in this game. I have written you because I have a special part in mind, just for you.

My trial date is not yet set, but it approaches none the less. I would implore you to visit me at my...temporary residence. If not, I will be in touch. Truly, if there ever were a more grand stage, I have not heard of it.

Thrax looked out the third-floor window in the direction of the Rectory where he knew Eye was holding class. Satisfied that all plans were going so well, he smiled and stroked, not his red goatee, but his narrow chin. Ah, how he missed that tuft of hair there! It just wasn't the same anymore. As he turned away, the flapping of wings near the window, and the scrape of sharp talons on the stained-glass, alerted him. He opened the window to allow a large creature, resembling a dessicated raven, to enter the room. Thrax's own messenger, a large raven named Harbinger, sitting idly on its stand half-asleep, suddenly perked up. The creature dropped a small scroll and flew away as it had come. Thrax took the scroll, untied it and began to read the message.

"Bailos!" he exclaimed. Another, broader, smile crossed his face as he finished reading. "What is this you have up your sleeve, I wonder?"

He knew he could not reply in kind, but he would definitely pay the prescribed visit. There was little he respected more than dark intrigues and sinister plans, from which he derived not only amusement, but education, and he knew Bailos would not disappoint him in either department.

MaryAnne awoke with another headache. She slowly moved her legs over the bed, grabing the heavy robe that was at the foot and pulled it over her. The fire had gone out while she slept. She slipped on some warm shoes and headed to gather more wood. Once she got the fire going again, she looked around the building for Brother Gregory.

"Brother Gregory???!!"

She would yell out with no answer to return to her. It had been a few days now since he had gone. She had seen no sister or brother about either. Then again she never did, they were always busy in other cities or the such. She went and fixed her a little something to eat. Her head was throbbing but she ignored the pain. Her worry for Brother Gregory was much more bothersome. He had never been gone this long without word to her. What happened if he went for water and was attacked? So many scenerios slipped into her mind as she sat there eating her breakfast. She would go out and see if she could find him. Once she finished her food, she went to dress abit more warmly. She then gathered up a lantern and a stick and headed out into the cold terrian, in search of Brother Gregory.
