His posture wasn't so much of a slouch, more like reclining...That is if thrones made of marble could in fact recline. Let's just call it "a casual demeanor". One hand lazily braced on the armrest, the other hand with a slightly clenched fist, sporting the gigantic ring which was slipped on his finger last night to mark, in all its glory, him as the King of Sanctus.

Not that the title mattered. His control was absolute. Raising his hand up in the air again the enormous ring's central jewel, a massive diamond flanked by a ruby and an emerald, caught the light oh so perfectly. The prismatic wave cast on him, illuminating his face with an eerie glow and sent shards of light dancing over the benches and walls of the room. Not a care in the world...

"If only that were the truth..." he sighed.

Zarlox was close to breaking...he had to be. To see Sadira willingly take his hand and profess a desire to be his Queen had to shove a barb so deep into his heart, it could never be pulled. He may have convinced himself that Sadira is under some sort of evil influence, but that matters not. All he had to do was keep the charade up just a bit longer. The stress on him was visibly taking its toll. Friends around him or not, there is only so much a man can take. Secure in the knowledge that Zarlox did not possess the divine spark to bring him down, he shrugged it off.

Where in the nine hells did Baron come from?... Was the next question he had to toss with. Baron was dangerous. Very. Baron himself did not possess the divine spark either...he wouldnt be the one to bring the Usurper-King down. But he could inspire. Recalling back to his earlier days, Bailos never knew a man who could inspire and single handedly motivate masses of men like Baron could. What a dangerous talent. Perhaps this was a job for Vaen.

"Crying like a baby...that damned Molly..." Was his next thought. IF she ever got her head on straight, she had powerful allies. Although he had no knowledge whatsoever of the situation, apparently she at least partially blamed him for the death of her husband. Bailos managed to take a small bit of satisfaction knowing that he has had such a lasting and memorable effect on people, that he can be instantly blamed for misfortunes. Perhaps she can still be manipulated...

Finally..."The Skyfire twit...". Where did he come from anyway? No one cared aside from the stragglers left from Sanctus' dilapetated military, that being Baron, Zarlox and one or two others. Other people would only care if somehow a true Skyfire heir did in fact appear. There is no greater sin than power in the hands of the weak and undeserving. Perhaps another job for Vaen.

Lowering his hand out of the light, the splendor of the ring subsided and he straightened himself up, placing both hands on the armrests and gripping them well.

There will be no dawn for Sanctus

"This ring represents........Yes I am ready to take my position as our kings wife, and be his queen."

This isn't me talking is it? No..I love Zarlox..I can't be...but I want to be his wife...why do I want this?

"Was this part of the plan the whole time? How am I suppose to feel when you choose him over me all the time?"

Zarlox words cut her, and she didn't know what to say. She didn't know what was going on. She had replayed every word ever said to her over and over. Sadira laid awake reviewing all that has happened. Bailos cornation, her desire to have it done...and wanting it..and to be his wife..all of it. Bailos voice had never sounded so sweet...why did she desire to want what he wanted? Her heart still wanted Zarlox, but her mind...she wanted Bailos. She just shook her head. Zarlox went from believing that she was in love with Bailos and this all was part of the big plan, then he believed it was the bracelet on her wrist that was the cause of it all. Bailos had control of her, was that true? She looked over at Zarlox who was resting, he stayed with her...perhaps the fear of her moving on to death. Her mind was so mixed up....she could not help but to wonder...did she have feelings for Bailos? Zarlox had made that accusations before. Her mind felt so mixed up. She knew in her heart she loved Zarlox, but in her mind...she so desired to be Bailos' wife...she wanted him to be king. That did not go away even when Bailos was away from her. What kind of control could last at a distance? She slipped out of the bed, as to not awaken Zarlox. She slipped on her house slippers and went up to the kitchen. There she just sat down with a warm glass of apple cider and gazed out of the window to the stars. Her mind and heart at war....her feelings were getting mixed up. She just shook her head...her eyes went from the bracelet...then gazed upon the butterfly that Zarlox had gotten her from the other lands. Such a beautiful one it was....how did she feel? What were her feelings towards Bailos. She knew her love was true with Zarlox...but what of Bailos? Where and how does he play in this now? If only she could think straight. Bailos words that one eve..his Golden Bargaining chip...what did he mean by that? She sipped on her drink while trying to make sense of it all.
