Sitting in her garden Brianha’s thoughts were filled with frustration. “I need to just be done with it and return my own memories so that I might move on and feel again the way I had” Sighing she stood up and went down to her writing table to ask assistance in her endeavor.
My dear friends Max and Ceinwyn,
It is time, I believe, for me to go obtain my own memories so that I might feel again… it has been most difficult to only have seen what was my past. There was no feeling when viewing my life in that crystal ball and I so desperately wish to feel the love I once felt for those around me. Though I have grown attached again to those around me… I can not help but feel there is much missing in my heart for them, and I feel it is no longer fair to put them through any more distress. As my confidants in this matter I can turn to only you and wish that one of you might accompany me on a day filled with sunshine and warmth to melt away the cold of my heart. Please let me know at your earliest convenience when one of you might be available to accompany me in this venture.
Your friend always,
Brianha |

As Ceinwyn read the letter, she shivered to herself.
A day filled with sunshine and warmth??
The mere thought of basking in sunlight turned her off of this half-idea of friendship. She paced back and forth across her rooftop, arguing with herself. She didn't need friends anyway. What good were they? They turned on you when they desired your belongings, anyway.
That was what she had always heard, anyway. She sat on her throne, chin propped in hand, pondering it out. She came to a decision. She decided to go along with it, to humor Brianha.
I will suffer this horrific ordeal simply to make her happy.
Yes, she told herself. That's why she would go along with it.
Nodding to herself, satisfied that she was only doing this to humor Brianha, and not truly out of any feelings of friendship, perish the thought!, she set about gathering piles and piles of snow to bring along.
Mustn't get too hot in the sun.. that would never do at all!
Everything sorted out, she reasoned the decision away.
Besides, it's what Max will want to do... |
