...Slowly the pair rode slowly down the road, chatting along the way. Both Tatinana and Baron Mordegan faces grew a great smile as they saw the walls of "Blackguard" come into thier sight. They had both been away on their quests for quite some time and were anxious to get home to thier beloved city.
"M'lady, I see Hanse's Tavern, perhaps we couldst stop for a drink before we enter the castle?" questioned Baron
"Tis a long time since i have seen old Hanse, we have been away so long what would a few moments for a nice cold glass of milk hurt." she said with a smile.
The tavern was quite empty when they arrived. The walls of "Blackguard" towered across the road from the once very busy tavern. The pair opened the door and entered. The innkeeps welcomed them and offered them a seat.
"tis been a while since we have had travelers like you two around. What would you two like?" asked the innkeeper
Tatinana and Baron Mordegan ordered thier drinks, the dust from the road thick in thier throats was quickly washed away. Tatinana was anxious to see her beloved husband Andre and her brother Talon. Her heart missed them both greatly. She dropped several gold coins on the table as she headed towards the door. She wished greatly to hold her husband in her arms once again and to give her big brother Talon a great big hug also. She grabbed Baron Mordegan's arm and pulled him with her almost causing him to fall from his chair. She couldn't wait any longer.
The pair quickly went across the road and around the front towards the castle doors. As they rounded the corner of the castles wall Tatinana stopped suddenly. She had almost run into an older gentleman that was walking towards the road. Baron Mordegan crashed into her from behind as he had all to do to be kept from her dragging himself. Tatinana let out a soft grunt from the collision.
"Forgive me good sir, I nearly ran you over." she said with her head slightly bowed
"Tis fine m'lady, no harm done." spoke the robed man
Tatinana raised her head slowly. As she did she saw the familiar face of General Zarlox. The smile on her face grew even bigger.
"General Zarlox! Thou art a sight for my tired eyes! Tis been too long General." she said with a happy smile.
"Tis been a long time since I hath been called "General" m'la.." his words cut short as he looked at Tatinana, "Tatinana? Is that you? Oh my it is!"
His face turned from happiness to one of saddness as he began to speak as they walked towards the castle's doors.... |

Baron Mordegan listened intently as General Zarlox explained what had happened to the once powerful City-State. It sadened him to be gone so long not being able to help Sanctus in its darkest hour when it needed him the most.
The demise of Lord Skyfire and the passing of Lord Dragonbane bestowed a heavy heart upon Baron Mordegan as he continued to take in what was once so familiar to him. The smell, the sounds and the feeling of joy that once filled the air were no more. All that was left was the smell of despire.
At this moment Lady Skyfire restored his rank of Major and directing him to rebuild the Border Legion forces of Sanctus to its former glory. Walking towards an outer balcony on Blackguard, Major Baron Mordegan vowed thatt he Border Legion and Sanctus will once again prosper--Lady Skyfire has taken her proper place as the Commander of the Order and Lady of Sanctus.
Sanctus has returned. _________________
