Nico, my dearest love,

I am sitting alone in my room after awakening to a dream that worried me. It has only been a few days since our last evening together. I am sure it is my imagination but I worry about you so. I suppose that is a good thing to worry for someone you love so I will ease my fears and write to you of my dream.

As I slept I dreamed of you battling horrible monsters. They looked like huge spiders, very frightening to me. You were poisoned from one of them but you battled valiantly beating off your foe with great force but there were so many of them it frightened me. Then I awoke, quite shaken and prayed the virtues would protect you. I sit here now unable to return to sleep until I pen this letter to you.

It may be foolish but I do care so deeply for you and my heart and soul share a connection that I can not explain to you. I hope you do not find my letter silly. And if you do not wish it I will not write you while you are on the road. It makes me feel better knowing that I can send this to you. It will help me sleep knowing that if the pigeon returns, with or without correspondence, it did bring you this message and my love to keep your heart and soul warm with thoughts of us.

Returning home from another road trip Nico was thrilled to get a message from Victoria the bar keep that he had received a letter. Looking at the writing on the letter Nico smiled recognizing the handwriting of Maggy.

Nico took the letter and went upstairs to relax and read the letter Maggy had sent. When he was done he went to his chest and took out some paper and a quill. Sitting down at one of the tables on his roof he stopped to think about how to replay.

I have a better idea he thought, instead of just writing a letter in reply I will go see her tonight and bring her some of the things I found for her. I hope she’s ready for her picnic; the food I brought back with me should put a smile on her face. It will be just what I need to spend some time with her again.

Getting to work cleaning himself up Nico started collecting the stuff he had purchased for Maggy so everything would be perfect for her when he arrived at the lodge.

I hope she likes what I have for her, well there’s only one way to find out he thought. With a smile, Nico settled in for a quick nap so he would be able to stay out late with Maggy.
