Evoroth had now taken up residence in yew on the felluccan facet. Afetr his misfortune at the power generator at blackthornes old castle in Illshenar, he had not been the same. he had finally unraveled the last clues on how to open a portal to heartwood and was sure hed be the first to pursue this lost land.

He red his tomes memorizing the incantations to whisper for the ritual. In the background outside his small tower he could hear people dying all around, yew a place he once pursued many criminals and murderers with his dear friend vaen, now a place where he took refuge. he had become a recluse, rejecting all contact even from closest friends of his, refusing entry to friends in need of help, and not responding to invitations from his own guild mates. The final hours for him were near.

He recalled a conversation with some of his old mates discussing how his studies and devotion to his power wouldnt consumer him like it did his father. But realistically, track by track, we was following right in Elfrot's steps.

Everything was grey to him now, no more black and white, good against evil, lightbringers against the plaguers. No one was innocent in his eyes, corruption had plaqued the inhabitants of Luna, but yet he felt the denizens of umbra werent as bad as portrayed. everyone was equally... "lesser".

He ascended the top floor of his tower wree the altar had been constructed for his final task. In the distance he saw some of his very best friends running toward his house trying to evade murderers, but he simply turned away. He looked at te altar, and commanded his golem assistant to bring him his wand. By this time he heard screams right outside his door to his tower. he walked to the edge looked down and saw three known murderers attacking two of his old companions. he looked up and extended his hands into the air muttering a few words causing numerous meteors to come crashing down upon all five people.

"Keep your voices down you peasants." was all he was able to mutter as the smoke cleared and he saw all te corpses on his front steps.

He turned back around, very weak, he knew he would nee all the mana he could harvest and all his strength to make this work properly.
He stared at his constructed altar an began chanting in a very low tone. Long minutes had passed but to him it seemed as if no time had passed at all, each time he recited the words of power it got louder and louder.

Then finally a small sliver of a portal opened, not like one used to move a group from one location to another, but a very erratic portal, very instable. he turned back to the golem and commanded him to return to the gargoyle city where he was given him as a gift from his friends there. Turning back around he gripped his wand which was shifting into the form of a bone harvester, his weapon of choice.

He looked back toward the moongate of yew and looked up into the heavens and noticed the constellations gleaming, particularly the constellation of Minax, shining very bright, perhaps a sign for him to continue. he looked back down and recalled memories with his friends and could only whisper aloud, "Vaen I will return my friend, I will return, I wish you could see me now, the ancients of the ebon skull, the elder wizards of minax, the druids, the zog followers, all of them are lesser, I will return and rectify this darkness at some time old friend."

With that he thrust himself into the sliver with all the strength he had left in his body. He had indeed done it, achieving far more then his father ever had, he had followed right behind him into planes and realms not known yet by the inhabitants of Sosaria, when he would be able to return he didnt even know, all he hoped was that this portal did indeed take him to his destination to attain even more power...... Heartwood.
