Claudette sat in her garden watching the sunrise and drinking a cup of tea. She had had a restless night with all the thoughts twirling around in her head so she decided to go upstairs and think. She thought about Drayden and a warm feeling engulfed her body. She enjoyed spending time with him when she saw him, she only wished they could see more of each other. They had shared a passionate kiss and the mere thought of it made her cheeks blush. She closed her eyes and sighed.

Then her thoughts took her to Lord Flair. He had taken an interest in her and had been extremely helpful the night of her cousin’s accident. She liked spending time with him as well and the conversation was always pleasant but she didn’t feel the same energy and passion about him. Theirs was more of a friendship, or at least in her mind it was and she had been very honest with him about her feelings for Drayden.

She feared losing Lord Flair as a friend and she didn’t want to hurt him. At the Garden she had been surprised to learn that he wasn’t going on his trip anymore and that he had since been given leadership of his Alliance. “What am I going to do?” she mumbled into the air. She knew she needed to listen to her heart. It skipped a beat whenever she saw Drayden and raced when she thought about him.

The two men in her life were both very important to her and she was torn. She didn’t want to hurt either of them and had been honest with them both about her feelings for them. She really had nothing to feel guilty about and yet, she felt as if she were betraying Lord Flair. Why, she did not know. She had agreed to go for a walk with him later in the week and she knew that although Drayden would not be pleased about it, he would understand.

As the sun began to warm her body, she also thought about the fact that she needed both of them to help her find out what happened to her cousin. She was convinced that it was not just an unfortunate “accident” as Ceinwyn had said. She did not trust that woman and feared she was capable of much worse.

Both Drayden and Lord Flair had told her they would help in any way they could. They were both very intelligent and powerful men and they had resources available to them that she did not. She knew Drayden was already working on something. He had told her about a crystal ball that might help them see what really happened. Her cousin was her priority at the moment and the two men would have to understand that. As she finished her tea, she went downstairs and got dressed. She would go find Lord Flair and on their walk, she would ask for his help.
