She took a last look around the room. Making sure everything was in order. She felt a tear form in her eye and blinked quickly letting it fall to the floor. Determined to be on her way, she lifted the saddlebags to be hung on her horse. The only things she would need. a few days food supplies, a change of clothing, a bedroll should she not find a town when night fell. She went to the stables and handed these to the groom. He would not think anything of it. She oft carried as little when she was traveling. She would carry even more when visiting the orphans in Zento. She returned upstairs for one last glance around. She tightened her obi feeling the fans press ever so slightly at her back. Her eyes fell upon the book of haiku Tai had written for her. She picked it up and placed it in her satchel. Knowing her safety was questionable, she covered up the marking upon her wrist with her gloves and set her family guild sash on the table. No markings would give her away.
She felt the butterfly movements of the children moving within her. The damn Prophecy. Tai could not know of the children before her last trimester or it would mean his death as well as the childrens. Just a few months and she could return. No need to leave a note, he would just try to find her and want a reason why. She had no reason she could give him. She sighed a silent goodbye to the air.
"I am sorry Tai, my Ryu, I do this for your safety. The Alliance needs you and I will not have you go away from them." Taking a deep breath, she quickly went back to the stables and leapt upon her mare. With a curt nod at the groomsman and a quick heel to the mare, she headed out in the direction of Zento. She had no intention of going to Zento, she really had no idea where she would end up. All she knew was the life of her husband and her children depended upon her leaving no trace. "Just a few miles until I know I will not be seen, then I will head off into the woods...."
