It was dark...

The citizen rolled over in her bed, it was probably 2am according to the clock mounted on the wall at the foot of her bed. Four or five men, she wasn't sure...she squinted a bit.

She had has trouble sleeping but things like this just irritated her. She was so close to falling asleep when 'these weirdos', as she liked to call them, paid a visit to a house just down the road.

Little Suzy got out of bed real slow, and fumbled around her nightstand for her glasses. Slipping them gently on her nose she took a better look out her window...yep, five figures, probably men, at the house down the street. More interested than concerned, Suzy siddled up to her windowsill and watched with a somewhat blank expression.

They messed with the door, mommy...Someone poundeded on it and then the men came out with her. Where'd she go mommy?

Suzy's mother, still waking up, half-heartedly hears Suzy's pleas. Rolling over, mumbling something about "no dogs on the porch", Suzy's attempt to wake her mother goes rather unnoticed.

...Later, the next morning...

Suzy's mother, after waking up properly and changing into some more appropriate, takes Suzy outside to calm her down about this rambling of crazy night stalkers taking neighbors....Her jaw drops slowly as they near the neighbors house and find the windows boarded up, the door jammed, and a large notice tacked to the front

Sadira was coming home, from doing some supply shopping. As she started to get closer to her place, she noticed people making their way to a house. She called for Kathryn to come and take the items and put them away, while she investigated what was drawing so many people. She made her way towards the front of the crowd. Once the people saw who she was, they parted to allow her through. She then started to talk under her breath, as she read the notice.

"QUARANTINED?!"

She said outloud in shock. The crowd then started to ask her questions, wondering what was going on. They believed she knew the answers but she didn't.

"I am not sure, but I will speak to Lord Bailos immediately."

She said fighting her way back through the crowd. She headed for her home, then to her room. She, then, took out a parchement and a quill.

**************************************************
Lord Bailos,

I am writing to you in regards to a notice I found upon the door of one of the citizens. I would like to speak to you on the matter. Let me know when will the best time for this meeting.

Sincerely,
Sadira Reflov, Mayor of Sanctus

**************************************************

She read it to ensure it was all good, then she sealed it with a red wax. She pressed the emblem of Sanctus within the was seal. She called for a messanger to take the parchement to Bailos and to await a response. She then stepped to the window, as she watched the rider vanish along the horizen.

"What are you up to now, Bailos?"

She left Blackguard, partially hopeful...partially curious. She could not help but to shake the feeling that Bailos wasn't telling her the whole truth, if any truth at all. As she got lost in her thoughts, she found herself in front of that home again. She pondered about the woman that lived there, who was she..what did she do.

"There has to be some clue. Something that would help."

She says to herself, as she slowly walks up the stairs. She had an idea. She waited til the sun had set and there was less chance of people walking around. She made her way to one of the local lumberjacks. She paid him some money to come and hack down one of the boards, so that she could get in. She also paid him to fix it, once she was out. The lumberjack then busted a hole, large enough for Sadira to squeeze through. She took a bandana and wrapped it about her mouth and nose. She didn't want to take any chances, in case there was some truth behind Bailos' words. The lumberjack offered her a lantern, in which she lit and made her way through the opening and into the house. She looked around in hopes to see something that may give her an idea of what might have really happened.

Her eyes came upon what looked like to be a small kitchen area. She then noticed a small table. As her eyes became well adjusted she noticed something hanging off the wall. She moved in closer and noticed what it was. Shredded cloth..pinned to the wall by a knife? Her stomache churned as the pit of it was telling her to leave. Visions of what could have happened to the poor woman, almost made her lose what little food she had ate. She stepped closer to the bed, as if to take a seat, when she felt something. She held the lantern to enable her to see better. A ring. It looked very interesting, and looked big. She figured if nothing else she could use it as a clue. She reached down and took it, placing it within her pouch What was Bailos hiding? Was the question that kept repeating itself in her mind. She decided she had enough and she started towards the door. It wasn't til she got close that the lantern casted its light upon what looked to be blood. She moved in closer and then ran her finger along it. Her heart started pounding so loud she couldn't hear herself think. She had to get out of there, something was telling her she stumbled upon more than just lung-rot. She stepped outside and inhaled deeply. Fresh air woudl help clear her mind of the images that played it, as well as help sooth her heart to a normal beating. She stood and watched the lumberjack replace the boards they broke. She watches him go his way, then she turns to head back to the Inn. So many thoughts..once she arrived home, she went to her private quarters and plopped on the bed. She took out the ring and studied it even more.

"Who do you belong too? To the woman now gone, or to her murderer? "

The office now vacated, Bailos was left to deal with "How to stem the curious..."

Sadira always had a knack for at the very least, temporarily melting Bailos heart. It was just the sweat innocence about her that let him talk as freely around her as he did. No harm...she doesn't like, and I doubt she thinks I am., he thought aloud.

Rather slowly a figure from the corner of the room began to materialize, slipping out of the shadows, clad in the black armor of ninjitsu. Standing at attention on the other side of the desk the figure awaited its command.

See to it she is followed...-closely-
And with that his minion melded back into the shadows just as quickly.

-----------------------------------------------------------

Later that night

-----------------------------------------------------------

As Bailos sat on the throne of Sanctus, staring out the window over what he now called "his", his minion returned. Through his tightly bound mempo he spoke, "She visited the house, after dusk. Her face tells me she found too much". And then with a dismissive wave from Bailos, he vanished once more.

Steepling his boney hands he slouches down in the throne and contemplates his recourse. Abruptly standing he, recalls away immediately landing somewhere in the ruins of Caina. Passing a gate and pushing open a series of doors that took him further and further underground he eventually wound up in a well-guarded and secret laboratory far beneath the snow of Dagger Isle.

An eager technician coming to greet him at the door, Bailos' eyes immediately took lock on the "quarantined" woman bound to a table on the opposite side, both of her hands had been removed just above the wrist and her head had been shaved, all in preparation for nothing short of horrific experiements. His instructions were simple...

Harvest what you need then end her. A burial must be in order before she gets to close...See to it she gets "Lung-Rot"
