Evoroth was sleeping quite soundly, having been exhausted from a full day of spellcasting, the say prior imbuing scrools and magical potions for the expedition teams departing in search of Heartwod. He was awakened by a hard slamming on his door at the inn in Skara Brae, fumbling for his robe he quite upwith great haste and tripped over his chest of spell casting reagents as he amde his way toward the door. Opening it, he saw it was the supplies auditer, Rigus of Skare.
"Rigus, wat brings you here so early, did the ship from Cobve arrive yet?"
"No. Something far better arrived, get dressed and please accompany me to the Counselors Hall."
"Give me a few moments." Shuting the door behind him he realized he had never seen a wider smile on Rigus before. Taking his robe back off and strapping on his full mage armor he wondered what could be so great. As he finished getting his robe wrapped back around him and fastening his belt to secire it, he walked back to the door and opened it.
"Come let us walk dear Evoroth."
"What is so spectacular Rigus, you worry me with your eagerness this morning."
"Well it appears word of this new Heartwood has spread, and moreover word that you are here in Skara and leading the teams to find Heartwood and building an army to abolish evil in the lands has spread."
"That wasn't the intentions, i wanted this to remain as seceretive as possible."
"Well, this morning about three hours ago, a whole clan of wood elves from the southern jungles west of Trinsic came to the city walls and set up camps, Lord Amonth of the Skara Council went to greet them and invite them within the wall and they refused due to their customs and not associating with humans."
"Then why are they here?"
"For you sir."
Silence came over Evoroth, they were approching the Councelors hall and Evoroth noticed all the teams assembling there caravan wagons, excavation tools, pack llamas, kegs of drinks, and numerous amounts of armor and weaponry were amongst the objects being placed within large grotesque human built wagons. As they entered Lord Amonth the presiding Governor of Skara greeted him with the second enthusiastic smile Evo encountered this short morning.
"My dear Lord Evoroth, tis appears you have brought about something we have struggled for for many years now."
"That being?"
"The unification of the elven clans."
"Ive done nothing and shouldn't be recognized as doing nothing of the sort, the potential discovery of our ancestors is whats brought this unification."
"Indeed, but this could be a dream an illusion, twenty two teams are departing today for all facets of this shard in an attempt to find clues and relics to unlock this secret. But what if it is all for nothing, what if it doesnt exist or cannot be found? they came here for you, you now have the potential to rise up and lead this nation, this army."
Rigus spoke up. "Tis true Evo, you could, unite these races of elves, work for a new pure race and eliminate the days of human and elven breeding, we can become a force once again."
"No, a force is not what i desire, yes the elven nation to be strong enough to flourish, be recognized by the governments of man, and perhaps an empire on our own lands, but not a conquering race of war mongers."
"Not at all", retorted Amonth,"but we have been without a Commanding King or Minister in long years, someone simply to give hope to these peopls and now you ae amongst the most respected of our race."
"Im sorry M'Lord, it cannot be me, i cannot do this job, im simply a general for an army, a tactician, a solo warrior when the situation calls, not a decision maker for our great race, but i agree i wish someone did come and unite them, that would be a dream to become a governed race once again."
"Then who would you suggest or nominate?" Rigus asked.
"Honestly i really wouldnt begin to nominate anyone, there are so many great leaders. In cases like this i wish Vaen was an elf, perhaps the best man i know, and more loyal then some elves I've come across. Lady Alessandra too was a great personable leader, although i know not where my once bride to be has disapeared too. Regardless, if someone with our best intentions entered the city right now and claimed the position and had our best intentions at hand, then I would follow them in a heartbeat."
"As we all would indeed, I myself am to old to claim such a position, and Rigus is more concerned with how many kegs of wine we have arriving each day."
They all laughed a moment at that.
"Well dispatch the teams as planned," Evo began," I was going to head to Cove today to see the delay, but I feel the need to meet with this clan of wood elves, they are perhaps out of touch with the politics of things. I think at this point we should make it very public whats going on here. Post messages at every city, perhaps we can eliminate two things at once with this. First maybe we can have someone with the will and dedication to make and lead a guild of this new nation. And second maybe we can entice our enemies to expose there plans, or at least get them to come see for themselves whats going on. Send out the best rangers to patrol the surrounding forests. If they do send spies we want them alive."
"Alive, how do you take the undead alive." Rigus spoke up with a sarcastic smirk on his face.
"Perhaps the Skullheads arent the only evil that resides in the land."
"Please think about the offer to lead these elves Evoroth." Lord Amonth interjected as evo almost reached the doors to exit.
Evoroth turned back and stood silent for a moment. "My father is gone because of his love for power he stroved to better himself. He did this even making a pact with the Dark Lady Minax and Jou'Nar. He only cared about himself. I care about my race and my people, who there are far to few of. If someone came and lead them i would follow, but I canot lead them. I would be loyal to that person as if they were my own parents, and carry out any bidding they asked, like i did for Vaen. I wuld command there armies if they chose me too, or I would dedicate my life to being there bodyguard. But the fact remains, i cannot, but we do need a leader to let everyone across the land know that the Elves are indeed uprising."
