*Posting as Malorn so I don't have to make a new account*
The trial had not been going according to plan. Malorn couldn't help but think he was going to as he played with the smoke bomb he had palmed. He stayed calm knowing a guilty verdict would only be a minor set back.
"The prosecution doesn't have much of a case," he thought, "and the stories of the two witnesses do not match up. Perhaps I may get out of this yet."
He sat there, smirking most of the trail, listening to the testimonies of the woman and his former student. The voices in the court room echoed in his head. He thought on numberous occasions there was no possible way he could win this. Though in the end, the drunken fool did what he prommised.
Patiently, he waited, as the jurours deliberated. He stretched a few times, never allowing the smoke bomb he held to be seen. Sitting when the jurours returned he griped his left hand tightly, ready to dart from the court room at any second. It was then that the supprise came...
"Not guilty." Recited the jury foreman.
The smirk that perpetually adorns his face grew. He knew that he would still have to make haste to leave, however. On his way out he shook hands with the jurours, then was approached by an unfamilliar man. One that he had never met though already knew much about. He followed Isk, and his Hands to Magincia.
The prospect of the Humanis interested him greatly. Before Isk got into much detail he had already decided he would be joining. He knew that humans were the supreme race, and he was the most supreme of all humans due to his nature. This could not be denied... though for the time, he would lie about his thoughts. After becoming a Hand he informed Isk he would be needing to lay low for a while. He was informed that the Hands would protect him. The shook on thier newly formed friendship and went thier own ways for the time being.
He knew he needed to hide, he just wasn't sure were as of yet. It was then that it hit him... "The last place they would look is right where they are."... He decided he would change his appearance again and take a room at the Tokuno inn. There, they would never find him, even if they looked. It would all go according to plan. He smiled to himself as he walked out of Magincia, unseen to all and to remain such a way for some time to follow. |
