Honorable Tai,

I hope this letter finds you and yours well.

It has come to my ears that there is a past injustice that has never been properly addressed. As I was unaware that our paths had crossed many years ago, I was suprised by the words I heard.

I request a meeting regarding the past and honor lost in hopes that both may find our honor once again in each other's eyes. From the words I heard this act of cleansing is long overdue.

Will you agree to meet with me? Bring whom you wish to witness this cleansing as I wish this resolved once and for all for both our sakes and those people we value in our lives.

Let it be put to rest. Let the truth be sorted out and our lives become free of what ever distress this has caused to all concerned. The light of truth will set you free as the saying here goes. Let us shead that light on the shadows of distrust.

Sincerely,

Molly

As Tai slid back the screen that separated his room from his office, he noticed Otto-san waiting for him.

"A messenger delivered this letter for you in Zento this morning. I thought you would want to read it" Otto said to Tai.

Tai took the letter and read it as he let his morning tea steep.

"Domo arigato, Otto-san."

As Tai finishes reading it he sets it aside and slowy drinks his tea.

Then, he takes out his brush and ink and starts a letter.

Molly,

This letter finds me well. I am honored you asked.

If you have heard of this situation, then there is only one source that could have brought it to your attention. Now that I know my security leak, this will not be a problem in the future.

I understand that a woman of your station meets many people.

I will not accept your request for a meeting, however.

The time to address this situation has long since passed. What you fail to understand is that I do not seek to redeem myself in your eyes, nor do I choose to grant redemption to you for the wrongs which occurred.

Despite the fact this situation did occur, I have always been civil to you. You should expect no more because by your actions you deserve far less.

There is nothing about your light of truth I wish to share.

I hope this note finds you and yours well.

Tai Kwan Leap

She opens the gate and a messenger stands there and bows politely. She takes his offer of a letter and gives him a small bag of coins. He leaves and she closes the door retiring to the garden to read the contents.

She carefully opens the letter to see the brushstrokes of the Shogun. As she reads on she is greatly dismayed.

She wonders what person has been relieved of duty for passing this information along to her. Her adopted son had quit the service on his own because of the acusations and he was the one that came to her. She hoped it was not some other poor soul that was blamed for her emparted knowledge.

She is greatly disapointed that Tai refuses a meeting especially since this is so obviously a cultural misunderstanding and could be resolved quickly and would give each a benefit, ease tentions between both parties and possibly the organizations they represent.

She decides to seek council and advice. Perhaps a mediator, someone who can work with both and come to some reasonable solution. She takes out her quill and ink. Taking a scroll from the stack she begins to write a letter to be delivered to the Church of the Virtues.

Dear Bartholomew,

I have come to a point in time where I need your advise and perhaps your help. My heart aches for a past injustice and misunderstanding. I find there is no solution that I myself can empart alone. Is it possible that we could meet to discuss my delema?

Yours in Virtues and Light,
Molly

She calls a squire to have him deliver the note to the church and he leaves with the letter.

She walks to the fountain and watches the water cascade into the pool below and then on over the roof to the mote. As she does she prays that someone can help to mend this rift so the future is not tainted.

Bartholomew was at his desk working on the sermon and service for this coming Monday when he thought he heard something in the lobby of the Holy Church of the Virtues. Putting down his quill, Bartholomew went to the door and passed into the office where he found a squire who seemed just a tad nervous. Greeting the squire, Bartholomew was handed a note which he read before the squire could leave. “Please, come into my office whilst I give you a missive you can take to your Mistress,” Bartholomew said trying to sound warm and comforting.
With the squire sitting with the occasional squirm across his fairly cluttered desk, Bartholomew quickly penned a response,
My dear Molly,
You speak vaguely of a past injustice that weighs heavy upon your heart. As I can think of no slight that has passed between us, I am unsure what there is I could do to ease your troubled condition. I would be glad to meet with you to discuss this but must forewarn you that you would do better to address this with the party or parties with which you have said misunderstanding. I am always available to counsel anybody in need and would do what there is within my purview to assuage your pain.
Yours in Virtue,
Bartholomew

Bartholomew rolled up his reply and sealed it with the wax seal of the Church and handed it back to the squire to return. The squire nodded and fled the room and lobby of the Church as rapidly as his legs would pump.

She smiled at the squire that was still shaking nervously after leaving the church. He chattered on about how impressed he was by the holy man at the church. She smiled at him and said he did well and told him to go get some of the cake that was in the kitchen and said she would bring him to the next service. He ran off to the kitchen with a grin that covered his face like the iceing would in a few moments. She chuckled as he jumped on the teleporter to the third floor. she could hear him as he hooted with glee as he arrived in the kitchen.

She then turned her attention to the item she held in her hand. She looked over the scroll Bartholomew sent in responce. The opted for a pigeon this time and wrote a small note to him.

Dear Bartholomew,

I thank you so much for your quick reponse to my request. If you will send me a time and day when it best suits you by return pigeon I would be most greatful.

Until then, Sincerely,

Molly

She walked to the window and released the pigeon. As she watched it fly above the trees she sighed and bit her lower lip and wondered if things would ever be the same.

Dear Molly,
I can arrange to meet you any time between 5 and 9 in the evening hour of the eastern region. Please try to give me at least 4 hours notice, as I do not regularly check for messenger pigeons. My pigeon number is 29313429. Look forward to our meeting.

PS Please respect my tired old pigeon by not having the poor thing deliver mass messages as his heart is old and I would be torn if I would need to find a new pigeon.

Thank you,
