|
Mallory returned home from Moonglow, finally finished with her service to the healers. She had not the money to get the training she had wanted, but had made a deal, in exchange for training she would work for them. It had been a fine arrangement, but now her time there was finished and she was returning to the Garden full time. When she arrived she noticed a note with the Legion seal in the box and her heart leapt. Would this be good... or bad... news. She sat down and read the letter her eyes filling with tears and she smiled softly as she read the sweet words form Lord Majere. She had not known him well, but he had always been so kind to her, when Vaen had been thrown into the abyss, it was him that had come and told her himself. He had invited her to try to bring him back. And it had been him that had still come to the garden to tell her reminising stories of himself and Vaen. She wondered who his friend was and smiled a bit. Mallory appreciated the letter form Lord Majere, and was embarassed she had not written a reply when she noticed the date. She pulled out piece of parchment and began a letter...
To Lord Majere of the Legion of Justice,
I do hope that this letter arrives to thee and finds thee (and your friend) safe and well. I am terribly sorry I have not responded sooner to your letter. I thank thee greatly for your friendship and for your kind words as well. When Lord Swiftar was first lost to the abyss, it were the kind friends and family that surrounded me then that got me through the times of pain. It is no different now. I do nderstand why Lord Swiftar did what he did, and I do not fault him in his reasoning, but explaining to my heart has been more difficult. I am sure that if the Virtues deem it according, we shall once again find ourselves together, but as of now we remain friends and that is something few can say and do. Again, I thank thee for thy concern. Please know that you are always welcome here in the Garden.
In Virtue and In Friendship,
Mallory Rowdep

Mallory pulled out a ribbon but upon noticing it being pink she returned it and pulled from the pile a blue ribbon and tied the note. With the messenger she sent it and a few cookies with the instructions to take it to the Legion Isle for Lord Majere. The boy looked at her puzzled for a moment and she nodded to him with tears in her eyes and at once he left for the isle. Mallory sighed to herself softly and looked at the pile of parchment and wondered, then shook her head. Perhaps later she would send a note, but for now she must get the baskets filled upstairs.... _________________ Good friends are like stars.
