*flashback to yesterday*

Overlooking the courtyard of Lord British's Castle, Lord Kotare and his long time friend Lalady, stood watching the preperations for the castle's defense. Without turning to face her, he asks:

"Do you fear the inevitable?"

Lalady looked up to her lord and friend. Saying nothing he continued with what he had to say.

"All our lives we prepare for things we fully do not understand. Death will knock on our door and yet knowing we shouldn't open the door, we are compelled to open it. We open it because we must know.

In less than 48 hours, you will have the first wave of attacks comming in from the north. When you commit, you must not hold anything back. You may not run, you can not withdraw. doing so will result in the castle being taken and those you protect will be traped."

Lalady manages to speak:

"I do not fear what fate has in store for me. I have seen what cruel intentions these beast have to offer in Yew. All I care to be is a difference. And if it requires my life, then I will charge in with all my might and make each of them pay dearly."

Kotare smiled.

"Spoken as a true BlackWind. The comming days will prove to be a test for many of us. All we can do with the time we have is make a difference. If fate sees that its our time.....Then its our time. Nothing you do will change her mind. Hold strong and stay true to your beliefs and I'll see you after the end."

Kotare began to walk down the steps leaving Lalady to oversee the defences. Her lord had business in Trinsic. As to what, she didn't know, but the rest of the BlackWinds would be ariving the following day.
