Rufus stood alone in the garden of his small temple in the Jungles of Trinsic. Hours before he had asked of a messenger to make way to the building, in hopes that he would pass on a missive for him.

The sounds of the Jungle had become comfortable in the time Rufus had spent there...He had adapted to the various sounds and feelings that would generate from Nature itself. Often his meditation was heightened due to his surroundings and serenity. As he knelt down, he brushed his finger along a flower's petal, and then tilted his head a bit toward the sun. As a smile crossed his face, he heared the sounds of footsteps approaching from the entrance to his home. As he turned towards the teleporter, a young messenger quickly approached him and fell to his knees, "Forgive me, Milord." Rufus simply smiled and touch the boy's shoulder, "All is fine, friend. No worries. We have all our lives to make up for things missed...and if we nay make them up...We still lived..." The boy stood and nodded as if confused. "You needed a message passed on Milord?" Rufus nodded and handed the boy a parchment rolled tightly and wrapped in a gold ribbon.

"Aye, Pass this to Lord Andreas Dragonbane...post haste..."

Lord Dragonbane,

I pray that this missive finds you in the best of circumstances. And if nay, I hope that you shall overcome the obstacle with great wisdom and speed. Firstly, I should congratulate you on you ascension through the Ranks in Sanctus. Lord Talon was a close friend and man of great stature. I can nay doubt his wisdom for a moment in his appointment of his successor.

I would hope that it might be possible for us to meet whenever you may be able. Perhaps we can discuss matters of state, diplomacy or religion. Such things that peoples bound by ideals should discuss; as well as begin or establish if nay a friendship or bond, a relationship. It does seem that now more than ever, guilds dedicated to positivity and an abundance of light within the realm are rallying for unification and coming together in the ideals of friendship and continous peace. With that, I would pray that the Regency and Sanctus may be able to establish such a connection or bond. I am well in understanding of our boundries and territories, so this is no more than a request of a meeting between individuals. I patiently await your reply, friend.

Be Well Upon The Path,

Rufus Oryan

Malas….a dark facet, was lit that eve with a slight aura from The Sea of Stars. Erie yet beautiful, in the hush of the night time hours. The irony in it was that the light emanated from below, not from above, which gave even the most beautiful and righteous person a hint of mischievous intent. Also it gave the most hideous and foul beings an exaggeration of evil.

It was in this place that Andreas had grown to see many great people, events, and random issues unfold. He was at home here, strangely, for where would a paladin lord and ruler be most required? He nodded to himself at the thought and promise of The White Gate and the meanings of the words of the lands he had come, over time and hard work, to thus inherit. There was a meaning behind everything, and there was extensive meaning in Castle Blackguard. He would never quit standing in front of the darkness, among the light of virtue, and even within that dangerous gray area he called his home.

His thoughts were shattered as his keen senses detected the sounds of a person entering the Castle grounds. Andreas immediately ordered that said person be identified clearly and properly avouched for. Guards returning appeared to be perplexed, yet Andreas detected no cause for alarm. The officer of the watch, reporting that a herald adorned in The Regency of Trammel colors was awaiting audience.

Andreas now quirked a brow and folded his arms across his chest, thinking back to his mother, Nasissia’s request that he attend a Regency meeting a month past. He tapped his chin in thought briefly, then kindly ordered the missive to be fed, paid, his mount attended, clothing washed, if need be, and to await a time, with patience and warm greetings, until Andreas could attend the matter.

He then negotiated the many stairs and doors to the comfort of the offices and quarters where the missive from The Regent comfortably sipped upon some warm soup. Andreas greeting the man, and same was returned with due respect. The paladin smiled and was impressed by the manners and etiquette of the gentleman, and received the Regent’s letter. Andreas politely excused himself and proceeded to Talon’s old office of golden furnishings, now his ..as ruler, to break the seal and ponder the letter.

He placed the Regent’s letter calmly down and thought for a long moment on a reply, lightly drumming the stone desktop with his callous fingers. He then picked up a quill and ink and began to scribble hence:

Hail and Pleasant tidings from Sanctus to The Regency and yourself,

I must admit that your Excellency honors me with interest in the goings on in The City State of Sanctus, and more over Malas itself. Your lordship has seen fit to express query whence none came before, and it was my understanding that your honorable governing body did not wish to extent its hand into the goings on here in this dark facet.

However, that hand, so noble and majestic it be, and more importantly outstretched in friendship will indeed be well and graciously received by this king and our peoples.
Your request for a meeting is granted at your convince Lord Rufus. Our pigeons fly to 156101159 or if you prefer, currently the roads are safe for your heralds.

Yours in the everlasting Light,

Respectfully and virtuously,

*Stamped with the magnificent royal golden dragon of O|S*
Andreas Dragonbane, Lord of Sanctus

Andreas the sealed the letter and handed it to the missive:

"Take care lad and return this to your Lord, you may stay until properly rested, as you see fit, you may consider yourself …my guest until your departure. It was a pleasure. Andres Nodded once with a smile pats the missive friendly on his shoulder, and retired for the eve."
