Wiping the sweat from his face Charger thought of the easiest way to write the letter. He dipped the quill in a bowl of ink and pressed it to the parchment. He spelt the words as neatly and carefully as possible.
The Order of the Ebon Skull,
I read your reward for a bounty. I have disposed of a number of Tree Fellows for you, and would appreciate my pay. No one seemed to know what I was asking for, or knew where the payer was.
I don’t know who I am sending this to really *scratches out really* exactly, but I know whoever gets it should know what’s going on. I have killed fifteen Tree Fellows, and would like my pay of 15,000 as posted. Return a letter with this pigeon, or meet me at your temple for ten o’clock past the eastern sky.
Charger
He reaches around to find the piece of metal with the Regiment of Renown’s emblem on it. Dipping it in a bowl of red ink, perhaps even blood, he presses it on the parchment at below his name. _________________ Fight for pride, fight for honor, fight to kill, but most of all fight for gold! |

Drudging atop the upper levels of a tower near Umbra, Bailos was organizing some things and sorting through materials and recording them in a ledger when a shadow wisp descended down through the window. The etheral being spoke in an odd series of soft, pulsing noises, then quickly left. As it disappated a small parchment with the Regiment of Renown's seal was left before him.
Picking up the letter he floated over to a table and unfurled it with a boney claw. A wry grin crossed his face as he concluded his reading, and he sat down nearby.
Pulling a piece of worn paper, that has the look as if it's survived several decades and possibly a fire, from underneath a stack of a few books, he began to write with heavy, black ink.
Traveler,
I am charged with divying the bounties for the Treefellows, as is commanded by our great Lich Lord, Admoreth. Due to the nature of this task, you will be contacted when deemed fit.
However, our offer will be honored. You will be paid, in full, once you provide substatial enough evidence, in the form of remains, that you have in fact slain the claimed number of Treefellows in the name of Oblivion, and not until then. You may or may not be received tonight, however -you- will be contacted for payment, not vice versa. Consider yourself honored to be able to serve a greater purpose and respectfully wait for your just rewards.
You may collect your reward sometime tomorrow, Wednesday, between the hours of 5 and 7 by the eastern sun, or I will contact you at an appropriate time.
On a personal note, word travels fast and I do recognize the seal on this letter. I know of the mercenaries nature, and have a good idea about you and yours.

The letter is rolled up and sealed with several drops of a black wax, and tied with a small bone clasp and sent on its way. |
