|
Once again Naissia found herself alone in the garden gazing out over the water. A book laid upon her lap with a quill tucked into the seam of it. The days events she plays over in her mind. The meeting was a joke. The slight insults, the bickering and the rudeness of those supposedly observing were getting to the point of being near laughable. The queen acting like a spoiled child throwing a tantrum by stomping off from the meeting. Isk looking like some person going through withdraw too shakey unable to keep himself still let alone hold a weapon. She sighs shaking her head.
These are the people that Rufus is entrusting his life and the state of the Regency. Either he is a full wiseman beyond any comprehension or a blinded fool in friendship and love.
Her conversation with Vahn a possible new recruit. A quiet giggle escaped as she recalled the look on his face as he mentioned about the Skull and the Dark Awakening having a possible alliancel; and how that would mean the Dark Alliance forming.
"Good I hope they do! Yes I encourage it or anything that will kick the arses of these light guilds off their damn high horses and realize there is a bigger threat than what he said she said crap they bother with or what who did what several years ago."
She just shook her head realizing that at the rate the "light" guilds were going, all the Skull would have to do it await for them to slowly tear each other apart. She could not help but to smile as she thought of the talk she had with Rufus a few nights prior. Her eyes sadden as the thought of Walter and his torture. His love for his wife was slowly driving him to a point that could mean carelessness on his part. She could still see it in his eyes he cared not if he lived or died. It pains her to see such. How could his wife have left him? What had he done that was so wrong? Mistaken her for dead when he believed she was? Naissia had done the same with Huma. Perhaps that is why Huma never came to her upon his return. She slowly puts the book to the side as she moves towards the edge of the roof top. Her gaze peering down at the serpants crawling and hissing. Almost as if inticing her to jump. The whispers were getting louder. Images of the tortures and everything she had ever been through flashed in her mind relentlessly for the longest of time. Her heart holding true to the ones she loves while her mind playing havoc upon her spirit. The confusion increasing in strength to where she was close to losing reality once again. Placing her hands to her head as she rubbed her temples so hard leaving bruised markings where her fingers were. She slowly placed one foot upon the edge inching it out over it to where only her heel rested on the brick.
Jump jump and end it all Naissia. You know you have no heart..the one you love loves you not. The one you have fallen for seems to care not of your existance. Failure at what you are...and destructor of all you touch.
Naissia snapped her head to her side.
"Shut UP! I can not think with your badgering nonsense."
A laugh escaped from her throat in a teasing cackling. A voice came from nowhere.
"Our nonsense? You are the one debating if your existance is worth it. Only options you see now before you is to run away or jump. How different is one than the other..all will forget you over time. But we will always be with you. You know your desires yet you push them back because of what? Because you have to much respect for those that have none for you?"
The laughing only grew louder as Naissia frantically shakes her head in desperation of ridding herself of it. It was in this process that she slipped and nearly plunged to her death. Her arm instictly quickly reached up and grabbed the stone. All the countless hours of killing the earth elementals had build up her muscle in her arms. She slowly pulled herself to where her upper part was half over the edge, as she grasped at the nearest stable item pulling herself the rest of the way. A coy smile curled about her lips as her eyes glazed over for a brief moment. She slowly closed her eyes for a moment then opened them only to be looking at the book that was resting upon a nearby bench. The starting of it saying My Dear Rufus. She took that as a sign that she could not leave in any manner without letting Rufus know she had not abandon him. He had been her life support in dealing with Huma. He had help make the pain easier and took time to listen to her rantings about him. It had to be hard, seeing how he looked upon Huma as a mentor and friend. Rufus had come to mean alot to her, he was family. She would easily give her life for him as she would Walter and her family. Walter, more or less, knew of what she was planning on doing, but Rufus had no idea as of yet. She was hoping to tell him in person, but as the day grows near, she fears that may not be an option.
Just in case.
She thinks to herself as she pulls the book and quill to her. She then begins her farewell note to one of the more stable and consistent men in her life.
