*sealed with the Royal Emblem of the Countship of House De’Chevia*

To Lady LaBelle,

I wish to relay my sincerest hopes that the virtues have taken you into their fold and helped to make you strong in the light. I see you at meetings and can’t help but admire both your spirit and your love for the way of the paladin.

Although I do no profess to be a paladin, being that chivalry is my charge in concert with the eight virtues, I myself am more attune to the ways of battle in a just and rightful cause only.

I am not sure where our paths will cross, but perhaps you will do me the honor of an audience?

Yours in the light, ever enduring…

Arieus De’Chevia, Duke of Luna
Viscount of Northern Malas

LaBelle looked thoughtfully to the distinguishing seal of the House De’Chevia. She pressed her fingertip upon the wax, and peered inquisitively to the signet. She hesitated momentarily, before cracking the seal between her thumbs. Once more a flurry of viridescent slant, did she look upon. Reading the parchment through, she lifted a finger to her temple, then traced the side of her cheek to rest atop her lips. She carefully folded the vellum, and strode cross the room to place the letter within her traveling pack. She moved towards a locked chest containing those things of sentiment, and sifted through her key rings to find the matching key. Opening the chest she withdrew a small, colored sack, containing the gift presented by his Lord De’Chevia, by ways of the young Dragonbane. Carefully including the gift amongst her items for the stay at the Church, she moved again round her home to secure any overlooked chests. Her words came softly, and unheard, but still they came...

“My days are not my own, and those that are, grow lonesome. Have I not seen the attentions of these Lords, will I nay see them..Raedyn...Raedyn...” Her words trailing off as she busied herself a moment, with a hidden chest, fumbling to secure it...”If there is another, I do not know, for my eyes have been shut to relations evermore....curious, ever so curious...”

LaBelle continued through the home, drawing her garb for the Regency meeting, and packing her bag for the stay within the Church. Her thoughts continued to wander, as though she had given not thought on such matters of heart before. She knew that ones heart could take dismissal, only for a time, before it began to search for something welcoming.

Slipping the royal blue robe over her head, beneath, simple traveling clothes adorned her, she blew the last candle light in the home, and descended the small stairwell. It would be a weeks stay to the church, perhaps she would find moments, and reply to his Lord De’Chevia, and accept audience, for she surely was obligated to offer her thanks for the gift in person...and she was curious.

In The Avatar’s Throne Room…..

The meaning of “Luna” was exemplified uniquely by the setting of the sun. As hues of amber swept forth the day, the skies brought to wit the evening hours. Arieus stood about the inner wall of the city and stared at the passing of the sunset. The candelabras within the hall ever soothingly illuminated the stairwell, which he strode down to face the Ankh of Wisdom.

He had written The Paladin Lady LaBelle, as he was strictly taken by her wisdom, truth, and beauty. Yet, had he made a mistake? Arieus stared at the Ankh for what seemed half the night, dinner past, and many passers by looked upon The Duke with a strange hush of puzzlement. Typically, Arieus retired to Citadel Dragonbane, the seat of House De’Chevia. Tonight, it was that magnificent ankh that had his attention, and the only thing that broke his transfixed mind, was a pigeon that clumsily flew in and pecked him on the nose.

It was news that there might be unrest in Vesper.

His thoughts then snapped back to The Lady Arcana, and he shook his head with reservation. Again, in the evening air now glimmering with stars, did he ponder his course and direction of a personal note, and agreed to himself that if she required his knowledge of the matter, she would call upon him. He also agreed, he no longer had a personal, inner love for Arcana, perhaps merely as a friend. Their time had passed.

And as he then looked up not into the silken skies of Malas, he thought to himself that he best remain a silent as those stars for now, but always let his light shine forth.

A whisper: “LaBelle” …and the Ankh of Wisdom was seen in his dreams this night. And as it takes a certain amount of time and diligence to gain wisdom, so does it take to remain ever patient and chivalrous.
