*A notice is posted around Yew*
The Yew Town Council continues to violate the borders of the Army of the Frontier in Yew. Their contempt for our boundaries has been accepted in the past, but no more. The Yew Town Council’s actions have forced the Army of the Frontier to close our city to them. Our soldiers will no longer allow them free passage. We have been quite understanding, we have watched as their armies trample through our fields and there is no doubt in our minds that this resolution is the only way to secure the safety of our populous. If the Yew Town Council enters our lands, they will be directed to the edge of Yew. If they fail to acknowledge our dominance on the region, then they will be struck down where they stand. This is the end of our patience in the matter, the peace of Yew is now in the hands of the Yew Town Council. May they be wise and end this issue before blood is spilled.
*This directive has been passed by Commander Arlin, Army of the Frontier* |

The BlacKWind response:
let it be known that in retaliation to the decree set forth by the Army of the Frontier, that BlackWind will attack on sight any of the Frontier members with little warning. Any and all means will be used to end this conflict by trial of combat. We do not respect any boundary set forth by the Frontier and thus until such a decree is lifted or removed, No frontier soldier is safe from BlackWind wrath.
Peaceful resolution will require the Frontier forces to surrender and vacate the area. Any soldier who surrenders will be allowed to leave the area provided they lay down their arms. May the gods have mercy on your souls! |

Dominatria looked on as the young page stapled the notice to the doors of the Abbey. Things had gone downhill fast, that was for sure. But who didn't see that coming?
People from all over were now involved, herself included. Lunatics were raving in the streets to small gatherings of citizens. The town had definately come alive. Dom looked around, half grinning despite the forboding mood she was in. Even now, wiser and more mature than in her youth, she lived for the turmoil. Thrived in it.
Once the boy had finished he opened the door for her, and she walked into Arlin's office leisurely.
"Commander, we should discuss our plan of action before I meet with Noir."
Arlin nodded curtly, and the grin on her face disappeared. Down to business. _________________

*Nick takes the parchment and sits in the Mayor's Chambers*
"So it seems the first glimpse that the Yew Town Council is organizing caravans the Army gets worried…" Nick thinks to himself.
"The force they had seen was not even half of the might the Yew Guilds posses… If this ignorant and arrogant stance of Arlin's continues, it will be the Army that brings war to Yew!" Nick pounds on his desk in frustration.
Nick rested in his chair and began to recall all that had occurred between the two groups…
Nick had missed the last Yew Council Meeting and was unaware of the outcome of the Army's list. Since the meeting before, Arlin's Viceroy had to depart early before the list was fully discussed. Then a mesager arrived with a list of frugal writings that amounted to worthless babble. That was Arlin's attempt at diplomacy? Nick should have known the half-hearted attempt was a ploy till Arlin's true colors emerged and war erupted! After all, that is what Arlin wanted all along…
Nick had been kind to all of the Army, they were invited to all the Saint's events: ran drills, recruited, and took part in several games. The saints enjoyed having them there and Nick asked of Arlin at every turn, always worried of his condition. Was the army fully behind Arlin? Was their blind loyalty among their ranks? Surly they could see the pure hatred shown by Arlin was fueling these actions.
The council had given Arlin what he wanted; they had acknowledged their hold on Yew. This was evident when Lilyth had passed along the Skull's request in Yew a week before. As Nick recalled, the Army didn't want to handle it, as they should have. A typical action for an occupying force who would rather prepare for war with Yew's own people then handle the diplomacy effecting Yew!
Nick left the parchment on his desk as he left his office to meet with Lilyth… _________________ Lord Ambassador , STC

** The sun is rising low in the horizon as the Orc scouting party returns from it's morning hunt, the fort is quiet except for the sounds of pugs beating on leather and metal. Bottles are strewn everywhere from a night of drinking and fighting, and the smell would make all but the hardiest men wretch. Snarfu, head of this particular patrol walks into the stronghold with a wide grin on his face. **

** He throws down the decrees that were taken off of the trees, and gives them to Yigog to read. The whole fort rose up in laughter for the slaughter that was to be fortcoming.**

After a long day of training James Crownguard arrives at the Abbey just as he is about go through the doors of the Abbey he spots a notice posted on the door. He takes down the notice and begins to read. After reading he shakes his head and pins the notice back up. He then opens the door and walks towards the room near the end knowing he needed to mediate on a few things especially now that he maybe forced from his homeland if spotted within it borders. Once inside the chambers he sat down and began to pray.
After an hour of prayer James rose to his feet and walked out of th room and down the hall and then out the Abbey. He had many things to think about and knew he would have to let Jago know of Arlin's decree. Overall he hoped war could be avoided for the guilds in Yew needed not fight among themselve but should move towards taking back Yew, Felucca from the Orcs. Once outside he mounted his steed and rode off into the night making his way towards the Villiage of Akalabeth. _________________ Ser Derek uth Matar |

Lilyth strolled through the abbey taking note of the Army of the Frontiers decree. She mused to herself as she read it. This was what Arlin had wanted when he came to Yew, she had always know it. *crumpling the paper* Lilyth walked off. Truely amazing that an Army of "good intent" is so willing to fight those of the same mind. Lilyth now had to wonder about Lady Arcana. Lilyth hoped Arcana was the virtuous woman she had met long ago but her faith in that perception was sorely shaken by the Army's recent decision to close the borders of Yew. For what reason? a peaceful force gathering thier goods from the Abbey vaults and quickly moving them out of the area to help in the reclaiming of Yew Felucca from the Orcs. Lilyth saw quite clearly the hints of Arlins questionable past manifesting in his present. Arlins true self was emerging to a clearer picture everyday. He and his Army had never wished peace and prosperity for Yew, they wished war and destruction, they had since the day they stepped across the borders into the fair forests. Looking back over the past months Lilyth readily saw why diplomacy had been doomed to fail, The Army had never entered into it with a true desire to have peace, merely to make themselves appear more palatable to the people of Yew.
Lilyth hoped the townsfolk were not so easily duped by this half ogre and his Army of "good intent". _________________ "Always forgive your enemies. Nothing annoys them so much."

Klem walked up to the board, and saw the notice by the BlackWind knight. "No",He said,"He's gone to far this time, he has no honor if this is his word." He crushed to in his fist and walked away. _________________

Arcana, returning from a much needed break in the north country, stopped in at Yew Abbey looking for Arlin. She smiled to herself, anticipating their reunion now that he was well enough to be up and about.
She stopped in her tracks and almost headed right back for her peaceful retreat in the woods at the sight of the notices nailed to the Abbey door.
She swore violently under her breath and then added muttered "bloody hell," setting off to find Arlin with a very different purpose in mind than when she'd arrived. |

The pugs were hard at work at the forge of Grishnakopoliz as the drums of war began to thrum. News that the humans were taking up arms against each other in the face of Orc aggression was too good an opportunity to pass up.
Grig looked over the pugs as they reforged weapons that had been dulled on the skulls or many a heretic "urk" that wandered around the fort. There had actually been almost a hint of worry that the downtrodden masses of Yew and the Army of the Frontier might unite against the Orcs... but that fear was now to rest. Grig turned his attention to the other orcs, all of which were planning what to do when victory arrived. The Bludgod had been generous this year. Their would be much blood upon the fields of Yew. _________________ Femmies?! Howwah!!

Passing through Leshok saw the notices and shook his head in disbelieve and worry. This was getting out of hand, and was far to close to his own lands than he cared for. Something must be done. _________________ After all these years, I'm still putting up with Kuja and Vaen? whats wrong with me?

After sending the maidservant away Sarah pulls herself from Rufus’ sleeping embrace and slowly gets out of the warm bed. Stiff from the lack of sleep she stretches then dons on her nearby robe. Moving once more towards Rufus she leans down and kisses his forehead moments before he rolls over muttering something in his sleep.
“I love you too my husband,” she whispers back with a smile. Quietly she leaves the slumbering Regent and goes to the study. Welcomed by a maid with a tray of tea and cakes she settles down to read over some old news. One in particular catches her eye, the bold print was similar to the other posts but the blood on the parchment’s edge had caught her attention.
Sipping on some tea Sarah reads the grim news from Yew. “So the virtuous Lord Arlin has finally shown his true colors. Seems he likes the color red since he likes it spilled.” Sarah mutters to herself.
Thinking back upon the last Yew Town Council meeting she had attended she wasn’t surprised at all. In fact it was like the shoe finally dropped, as the old saying went. War…..it is the only thing many use to resolve their differences. The envoy Arlin had sent did his job as best he could but his statements during that meeting were filled with insults and threats. Lilyth even had grown tired of it and all knew that the face of virtue that Arlin was putting on was just a mask to hide other intentions.
Sighing she sips the last of her tea and gets up. Pacing her mind races to how the meeting ended for her when the Orcs had arrived with their threats. So many had filled the room that the smell overwhelmed her senses. They demanded the council to leave and Sarah did. Why do some think that confrontation is the best solution? The fact that the council still met within Felucca Yew was taking a chance of such an encounter. It seemed as if the members wanted to confront the Orcs, but why do it on the Orc’s home turf and risking their Yew’s leadership?
Shaking her head she turns towards the bell cord and pulls it. Within moments the door opens by a humble servant. Giving a message to be sent to her household in Yew. More of a warning of caution and the royal permission to leave if necessary. A nod and salute was given in reply as the servant departs. It will take some time to reach the cottage, that worry furrowed her brow. Crossing her arms over her chest she looks out the open windows that holds the view of the sparkling sea of Nujel’m. Deep in thought she is unaware of the presence of another until a light touch is felt. Arms encircle her slender waist then felt pressure upon her lower back. Looking down with a smile she caresses her slender hands over the smaller ones that hold her tight.
“Naji what are you doing up?” Feeling the embrace loosen Sarah turns to face her son. Flicking her fingers under his chin she smiles then looks down with concern. Noticing sleep still in his eyes she tilts her head as she waits for his yawn to finish.
“There was a large ship unloading by my window and it woke me up,” Najm replied hesitantly. “I’m not used to the noise so I went looking to see if you or father were up.”
Pulling him into her embrace she kisses the top of his head. Her life will be different now that he has come home from the elven monks. With a heart brimming with love she lets go slowly and looks down at him. “That would be the Golden Horn, Naji. It is one of our fastest ships which has returned with its cargo. Would you like to go down and watch it unload?”
Nodding several times and clapping his hands in glee he asks, “May I mother? I want to go see it!” Getting excited from his energetic enthusiasm Sarah tells him yes and that they should go wake up Naji's father and share their news. Happily the pair rushes out of the study leaving the world’s woes behind them. |
