Funny RK!
For the STC Week of events... for our scavanger hunt we were going to try and get groups 4 to about 8 or so to find things...
These things would be placed in every Facet and they would have to visit an STC member in a specific place by answering a riddle or following a clue...
So possibly the bottom of a dungeon in Tram, or the castle in Ish, a player run establishment in Malas, an Inn in the Lost lands in Fel...
The STC member woudl give them the item and possibly another clue depending on how they answered a question for bonus prizes...
SO you could have the normal items and bonus items for prizes as well! _________________ Lord Ambassador , STC

The problem with "game events" is that a lot of people would have no real purpose to be there. It is fun for us as players.. but for our characters it doesn't make the best of sense (especially for the more serious, or darker RPs).
I like things geared more along Intrigue, War, Politics, or just plain verbal sparring as opposed to something that on my character would seem ridiculous. |

Horace is exactly right, if we want an RP event, we need an "RP event". Not a random scavenger hunt, not a random race. The trouble is, there is a lot of RPing going on, but outside of taverns you don't see it. The real community's RPing lies within the guild structure, far more so than the RP we see in PvP or in a tavern, or in those random events. So as a consequence of that we need to stop scheduling "Events" and instead, just get together sometime, visit eachothers guildhouses, see people in their native environments. The best time an Orc has (speaking from personal experience, can't say for others) isn't generally at a tavern, but at the Shak, or his own Shak, or at the Stronghold. Or, something. PvP is just how a lot of interaction turns out... It would be bad RP for two warring guilds to go chill somewhere. _________________ Aus

Exactly, I ditto what the Orc said, but also say along the lines of OES RPs... why would we go to an "RP event" such as a scavengor hunt.
A lot of things we do are fund for us as people, but don't make sense for more immersive or more serious RP styles.
Items that would be more interesting would be real political events, or military conferences or even parades.
I.E:
Political or Intellectual Balls, parties, events
Military Roundtables of Allies, perhaps building up to a major conflict
Parades, military or civilian. I know that it would be something the more militarized states or groups would hold. |

I believe Horace has brought this up once in the thread already, But OES holds a black mass at the Temple of Oblivion every sunday at 9 pm eastern. Everyone's welcome to attend.
Personally, I think the black mass is a fine example of RP without PVP. |

Pfft, wanna roleplay, come to Yew.
I'm going to start posting guards at the guard posts along the road and have patrols running. Come to spy, or just wander around. You'd be surprised how fun it could be. _________________ As the fire fades to night, remember always the ember that started it all. |
